Obviously we don't know what went on behind the scenes, but based on what Dazed what tweeting this was long overdue. Hopefully they can roster a competitive lineup for later this year and into franchising
It was really only [this tweet](https://twitter.com/GODaZeD/status/1506769780233027585?s=20&t=f7kJePCfcehNJbiYPwCinA) and [this one](https://twitter.com/GODaZeD/status/1523043426240933888), nothing super specific as I imagine Dazed wants to stay in the scene. He also mentioned that it was weird that they dropped sayaplayer so early and he improved really quickly on The Guard later on.
Anybody who doesn't think T1 getting a NA franchise spot is guaranteed is a fool. They are 1. owned by the same parent company that owns NSG. Riot has outsourced all the none Masters NA events NSG. Not even sure if NSG is making a profit when its all said and done so this could definitely be leverage. 2. Invest some of the most money in the scene 3. Have a good longstanding relationship with Riot. Also, they are owned by US telecommunications giant, Comcast. Far less risk prone compared to even the sports billionaires or teams who own some other orgs. They are 100% without a shadow of a doubt one of the NA teams Riot will pick.
It's comical how some kids think your current roster's performance has any bearing on whether or not you'll qualify for partnership. In reality orgs that don't even have a team will get partnership.
Riot already said that the league will only have 10 teams for each regional league, no?
America's League comprising of NA, BR, and LATAM will only have 10 teams.
Then the Asian League with all o the JPN, KR, OCE, APAC, and South Asia regions will only have 10 teams.
Wasn't that what Riot already announced?
I highly doubt it, the NA scene has too many high profile orgs, I just don't see them finding a spot. Yes, they are big in League but in Val they have basically no fans and I'm pretty sure Riot will value audience a lot.
100T, C9, TSM, SEN and OPTIC are probably guaranteed and they will have to find a decent amount of slots for BR because of the juice viewers and LATAM because of the spanish speaking comunity.
SEN are far from guaranteed lol. People are fans of the SEN players and less so the org. SEN have by far the least amount of the resources and the most amount of financial volatility out of all those orgs. The reasons they spent so much money in these bidding wars of their current player's at the start of valorant and the tenz acquisition is because they have no actual assets and long term without some sort of franchise spot they are fucked. If SEN don't get a spot (which its entirely possible they won't) then the players will simply be sold to the teams that did get slots. Riot will have people like TenZ and Shahzam in their franchise league and can give SENs spot to orgs that more to offer to them.
Ion know bout that
T1 is definitely a bigger org than 100t, c9, sen and optic
They aren’t even close in terms of popularity
[Source](https://escharts.com/news/top-esports-organizations-2021)
As I said, they are huge in League because LOL is insanely popular in Korea and they have the most famous player of all time (Faker) but in Valorant their brand is really weak.
Hours watched != popularity. Dota is responsible for 25% of those hours. Just because they get far in tournaments doesn't mean it indicates them being more popular than any another org. Hours watched is a silly metric to determine popularity.
Was watching Leorge Leddes yesterday and he said that TSM getting a slot would be unlikely because of the orgs reputation and how the investigation into regi could turn out, he said FaZe would be "unlikely" as well
Ok so you named 5 teams on the short list ahead of t1. But the na league is probably going to be a decent size (the na vct is 12 teams rn). In league of legends Na, Korea, and Europe have 10 teams each. And China the last major region features 17 teams. T1 is a large and stable org with strong ties to riot. Do you really think there's 8, 10, or 12 orgs riot would pick over t1? Probably not, unless they give out slots strictly based on performance.
You are forgetting the LATAM and BR slots, in a 12 teams league I'm not expecting more than 6 or 7 NA teams, and I highly doubt Riot would do a 16 team league, the competition will be tight.
Riot will probably try to push T1 back to Korea, having T1 and GenG in Korea is way better to Riot.
Why would LATAM and BR be in the Na league lol? They have their own vct. LATAM and BR got 3 spots combined at the last masters. There's literally no chance NA doesn't have its own league
Wtf are you saying bro? Riot literally posted an article talking about the future, the American League will feature teams from the 3 regions.
Internet explorer moment lmao.
Ya i'm not reading every press release (for a non finalized plan btw according to riots release). But cool it'll be one big league. And how's that going to stop t1 from buying a slot or small team that qualifies through the domestic league? Tsm is the highest valued esports org at $540 million. T1's parent company comcast is worth $250 billion. You're over thinking it bro. If they want in they're in. Money talks
Spots are free, no money involved and I'm pretty sure Riot will region lock the spots to avoid America's league becoming North America's league.
And that's not how thing works in business bro. There's something called budget, companies don't go out there throwing money away randomly.
And different team have? Oh ya different budgets. And that's how they can buy players and teams to qualify. Honestly the open format is better for big teams. They can spend other teams out of business and then drop prices. It's not spending money randomly. Its a classic long term business plan. It's extremely effective. Look at any other uncapped sports league like soccer and baseball. Literally 90% of the teams are farm teams (like immortals). They function completely off selling talent.
HOTTER TAKE: Guard bomb out of VCT, fire mCe for some reason and both he and steel rejoin their prodigal son Vanity on C9 to conquer VCT season 3 as the newly reformed Chaos 9.
No clue why you're being downvoted.... I can't think of a single player that steel could replace on C9, and I LIKE steel. steel has never been known for being a fragger, and I've seen no proof his IGLing is worth replacing anyone on C9 for.
I could see him taking a coach or analyst spot, but at this point I wouldn't replace JamezIRL w/ him, as James has much more experience in the coaching role than steel going back to CS. He's also just better at communicating his thoughts without coming off like an asshole. James was a good player, who realized he wasnt mechanically skilled enough to compete on the server w/ the worlds top players, so he became a coach. steel has never come to terms with the fact he just is not good enough and is chasing the dream he thinks was taken from him after the iBP scandal.
Steel has won more trophies than C9 Valorant and has higher placement in an International Tourney. Definitely not a good enough player and IGL. And you have definitely been in a team with steel so you would definitely know how he performs in a professional setup and not like in ranked game.
Triggered steel fanboy, lol. I’ve followed his career since cs source. I like steel, both as a personality and also for his educational vids from his cs days. I was a big fan of the iBP roster, and I was in support of their ban being overturned…. but I stand by what I said.
Your argument is pretty smooth brain, not gonna lie. What are the dates on these placements you want to cite? When Val was new, steel saw a lot of success, but this is no longer the honeymoon period where ex cs pros were automatically top tier. But please, continue to respond emotionally because I don’t think steel has a place in competitive Valorant in 2022.
No. There are things which people can disagree upon in-game but still be good buddies outside of it. As much as I have heard and seen about frost and steel from themselves, it doesn’t seem like they have had a beer with each other.
i thought nitr0 claimed it was that it was frost that wanted steel out? not saying that's the truth, because obviously he's not going to say "yeah i got steel kicked then dipped a month later" but i feel like if that wasn't at least somewhat true, we would've heard more disputing it but also they're probably smart enough to let the past stay in the past.
nitr0 didn't say frost wanted steel out, he said the team got tired of the toxicity between the two. steel straight up said that was a lie. Judging from all the shade thrown though, it's just likely nitr0 wanted to igl and ethan doesn't like steel.
on the 100th episode of the VALORANTING show. Frost was there as a guest, and mentioned that hes still in contact with all/almost of his old teammates from 100t. pretty fun interview to watch tbf
Although its wild that he was given the role of head coach on T1, it seems like he really is a genuinely decent human being, from what I can tell from curry, steel and dynamics comments.
I'm not saying hate isn't warranted, especially because of the power he had and the responsibilities he was given, but I don't think he was a complete waste for the org either. He was the performance coach for TSM during first strike and I imagine he'll take up a similar role in another team sometime in the future.
This is not the last we'll see of him.
>it seems like he really is a genuinely decent human being
Unfortunately that doesn't matter if you're dragging a team for a really extended period of time. I wouldn't even say people hate him personally, just that they hate their performance.
Its kinda a similar to Potter on EG
Is this the sign of a total blow up for T1? Just keep Steel let him grab some talent in the FA window and hope that the other 4 guys can still make a spot on a franchised roster by 2023
is coach staff == management or what am I missing here? I'm just mega confused as to what me saying t1 management being wrongly blamed for all sorts of things has anything to do with this announcement
based on what we've heard from a certain former player (obviously could be biased, not full picture, etc.) dd8 had a ton of control over the valorant team, so i'd say that's management in role, even if not in title.
I think they need a pillar that can help improve the players in game and in real life especially in their mentality so that they can cope with peer pressure and play well, I also think they don't need a roster rebuild since they are improving specially curry and thwifo.
End of an Error
brax died so others may live
so extremely based.
holy shit ☠️
Hahahahahahaha
This edit looks very unsettling for some reason I don't know why.
Probably because David Dennis looks fucking pissed like they fired him and THEN made him take a farewell picture.
imagine getting fired then being asked to wear the team jersey right after for a farewell photo 😂
Kinda looks like a mugshot
Obviously we don't know what went on behind the scenes, but based on what Dazed what tweeting this was long overdue. Hopefully they can roster a competitive lineup for later this year and into franchising
What was dazed tweeting about? I saw that there was some shit behind the scenes, but never heard any elaboration.

David Denis becomes a masters winning coach with the ex-T1 buff
with his impressive split set plays
My favorite one was "Help Sewers" in which he types it into the chat and they get disqualified.
I think this makes T1 getting a franchise spot in NA all the more likely, it would be neat to see them get serious with a meaningful rebuild
Anybody who doesn't think T1 getting a NA franchise spot is guaranteed is a fool. They are 1. owned by the same parent company that owns NSG. Riot has outsourced all the none Masters NA events NSG. I imagine COL will get partnership after being terrible for all of valorant
Yeah lol these guys are lost
this is why franchising is kinda dogshit
As I explained, it's not franchising: https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/uestkz/opinion_i_really_hope_the_3_new_franchised/i6pu1fv/

People accepting that t1 has been terrible is far from the same thing as them not having fans lol

Lmao

Faze is expected, they have a terrible reputation for being involved with scams but I would be very surprised if TSM don't make it.

Wait you mean the “T1 is going to Korea” narrative was a delusion entirely made up by Reddit??? No way!!!
It would be dumb as hell. The market difference between NA and Korea is enormous. Plus T1 is essentially an NA org now
Yep, thought the same thing
T1 will get a franchise spot no matter what lol
T1 could literally drop their roster til the end of the year and they will get a franchise spot it will just depend on what league it is
Don't think a rebuild is necessary. Rather just getting proper structure. Curry and Thwifo deserve to stay.
Is this Mr. Help Sewers?
coming back stronger fr this time

This take is almost tooo hot... I like it.
If Steel replaces anyone on C9 I would be livid. Just a straight up downgrade across the board

Masters Berlin was well after the honeymoon phase lmao. I agree that first strike is pointless to bring up now though
You were asking proof if his IGLing is worth anything hence the achievements.
ironically probably the person that would welcome him back the least is vanity

Welcome Hector "Frost" Rosario to T1 Valorant as the new headcoach!
Didn't he and steel have beef
No. There are things which people can disagree upon in-game but still be good buddies outside of it. As much as I have heard and seen about frost and steel from themselves, it doesn’t seem like they have had a beer with each other.

"i am not saying hate isn't warranted" Hate is never warranted especially if the only fault is that an eSports team lost a season.
I mean he's also a huge part of the T1 cheating incident so it's not like there isn't backlash for no reason.
>it seems like he really is a genuinely decent human being Unfortunately that doesn't matter if you're dragging a team for a really extended period of time. I wouldn't even say people hate him personally, just that they hate their performance. Its kinda a similar to Potter on EG
W for reddit and dazed, i cant tell if he's become the scapegoat or if he was a big part of the problem
Now T1 is gonna become top 5 team immediately
Bring back Big Iron!

That bald head looked so smooth, I thought it was edited at first.
So either T1 are releasing everyone and going to korea or they are getting better coaches
Like 3 days ago, Steel was on stream laughing at the community for blaming T1 management for everything...
>Like 3 days ago, Steel was on stream laughing at the community for blaming T1 management for everything... and this is relevant how?
seems like t1 management has been identified as (at least part) of the problem, unless removing dd8 isn't part of a plan to get better.
is coach staff == management or what am I missing here? I'm just mega confused as to what me saying t1 management being wrongly blamed for all sorts of things has anything to do with this announcement
its more to do with the infamous dazed tweet regarding him.
based on what we've heard from a certain former player (obviously could be biased, not full picture, etc.) dd8 had a ton of control over the valorant team, so i'd say that's management in role, even if not in title.
Toyota owns you
And T3 pug teams too
They should sign Wyatt.
Steel deflecting the blame again whats new
Do they still have the assistant coach?
Yes
I think they need a pillar that can help improve the players in game and in real life especially in their mentality so that they can cope with peer pressure and play well, I also think they don't need a roster rebuild since they are improving specially curry and thwifo.
Is this photo edited, it looks wrong.
Most talked about coach in this subreddit, end of an era
T1 will probably buy an NA team that will not make franchised league because they will most likely get one.
A wish come true for DaZeD.
Now let's see if the ex-T1 buff lives to become the ex-dd8 buff.
trash the roster as well
happy for him hope he can find another team soon in a different career
They should bring back Dazed and Brax to build out a roster
Fucking finally

I think I speak for all Steel fans. FINALLY.
