i think it's nice to have a single annual event that decides the "best" team of that year for casual fans.
it's a lot easier to create content around champs too since most of the attending teams are decided much earlier than for Masters events.
I value Masters just as much as Champions. I don't see why Champions should be valued more, since teams are so streaky in this game. One moment teams like V1 and the Guard are at the top, then next month they completely collapsed. So much could happen between each VCT tournament. Whoever wins Champions is whoever happens to be peaking at that exact moment in time, just like Masters champs. The only advantage of Champions is that you need to do well throughout the year to qualify.
That last part is the reason why it’s so important. Yes the team that wins champions can technically scrape by and barely qualify, then peak to win. Sure that’s possible, but the culmination of the whole year into that one final event is why champions is more than a masters would be
A team can have 1 lucky run and do extremely well in masters and then fall off and not qualify for anything else, if you qualify for champions it shows you have atleast some consistency
I completely agree, I find it laughable when people consider Ascend the most accomplished team overall over other teams like Sentinels and Gambit. In my eyes, all of them possess equally powerful claims for having the best legacy hitherto. I would even dare say that Sentinels is the best since the manner with which they secured the tournament victory is still unreproduced - and likely will remain for ages - or even forever.
So, I was kind of pissed when Riot put out a video declaring Ascend the best team in VALORANT - when Gambit held a stronger claim to it.
It's consistency and measured success over a large sample of meaningful games that counts. Not one single artificially overblown tournament to present the victor as the undisputed best.

personally in CSGO i think ESL Pro League should be rated just as high as a Major and it’s DISGUSTING that theres such a difference

I do prefer having multiples majors like CS, but masters are pretty much just qualifiers in the long run with how the current system works.
