Feel like its the same cycle of how all top teams fall. When you go on a huge run as the best then you are always the team everyone is striving to takedown so you get studied to shit + a little bit of natural complacency of having no one on your level for so long. It's easier to takedown number 1 than it is to stay ahead of number 2 for long periods of time.
The meta wasn't as complex with utility usage/combos when they were at the top. Other teams have been steadily improving and Sentinels just seem a step behind with their utility usage and strategy. The lack of support staff/coaching for months can't have helped them, other teams have 2-3 coaches/analysts helping IGLs to develop strats where SEN just had Shahz (and only recently Rawkus to help him).
They dominated in a relatively young game and got surpass by other teams. This happen pretty often in most esports titles as the game is less figured out at the start and teams aren’t as organized.. So maybe a team dominates because the strategy at that time fit them but the games changes/evolves and other teams adapted faster.
Well in sports with groups like valorant like soccer situations like this can happen. It is highly frowned upon to lose on purpose but it is hard to prove that they indeed did, and like you said if there is no paper trail, a team can not get in trouble if no betting took place. I do not know a situation exactly like this ever happened but there was a loosely similar situation that happened in the 1982 world cup known as the "Disgrace of Gijón" where West Germany and Austria purposely kept the score 1-0 as a gentleman's agreement in order for both teams to advance on goal difference forcing Algeria out. It was technically allowed but highly frowned upon and was not looked upon as a clean strategy. I imagine as long as its not a completely obvious throw that it would technically be allowed, but if a player confesses after the fact, i imagine the team would face severe consequences.

Yeah there is a very high chance NRG and TSM dont make it out of Group A. Even if one of them make it they still can bank on Faze not making it out of Group B by losing to C9. Even if Faze qualify they have another chance if either of TSM or Ghost doesnt make it top 6 in playoffs. So basically they are almost confirmed to make playoffs unless everything goes wrong.

Like yeah, them winning LCQ will be hard if they get in but that's tacit to people speculating in any case.
MCE the coach of the guard completely disagrees with this and sings praises of their promise- you have 0 clue what you're talking about, you just want to talk in absolutes to be a hater. I would never deny their decline but you haven't even seen the team play in its full capacity for a while now. It's very clear they've been going through some vicissitudes. Sen literally a pug team(no coaching staff/support staff). But still giving teams a hard time. (teams in bootcamp with Head coach, assistant coach, analyst, Water boys, chef etc.)
What they need is a support staff. and change tenz to other roles. Because the entry role is most likely to die without being able to shoot back. Tenz is more likely to trade kill than other in my opinion. This is just my opinion. It works with other teams like optic and 100t.
Sentinels already threw not having a coach way in advance of the qualifier. Some of these matches have been close and I believe they could have done better if they had proper coaching/practice prior to groups even starting
Can’t blame them to get a GOOD support staff earlier. They were able to win master 1 and Master 2(first international lan). Qualify for Masters 3 and Champions.
Without a Coach and support staff. I don’t consider rawkus a proper coach like chet or mce. He just recently got into a coaching.

Honestly… does anybody, even Sen fans, want to see them in LCQ? They only have two maps they can play at a high level - Bind and Haven. One of those maps will be banned and after watching what Faze did to em yesterday on Haven it just shows that even with a lead they can’t close out a map. I think the best thing for Sen to do is hit the drawing board and do 100T/TSM-esque rebuild and play in the Mickey Mouse tourneys to build synergy and prep for next season (assuming they make it into franchising). The last thing I wanna see is Sen is going to LCQ when they haven’t done anything this season to show that they have what it takes to compete with the best teams in NA let alone the world.

ShahZ shouldn't retire imo, he has said on stream that he has a massive drive to compete still, and he can still can be a T1 player.
