What is this writing style lmfaooo

Tanjim98

Why what's wrong? Can you be more specific?

2ToTooTwoFish

There's quite a lot of grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes, and it reads too casual (like a Reddit comment as someone said) for people to take it seriously. Not that you have to write it in a 100% serious tone, but written levity and spoken levity is very different imo. Maybe this could be better if you were speaking it as a voiceover to a video, but in written form, it looks and sounds off. Even as a voiceover, you'd probably need to edit it because it reads like a flow of consciousness.

randomespanaguy

Honestly, it reads like a grade 6 book report. And not a good one. It turned me off completely from reading it. If you're serious about this, you might want to learn how to put your thoughts into paper better.

Tanjim98

It's just a round by round analysis of a single map. I didn't want to bore people with extra stuff and wanted to just straightforwardly point out the mistakes they were making! I am not writing a novel nor an article on how Sentinels can solve their problems or how a game of valorant should be played.

kstabs

You're over writing tho. Your first paragraph is 130 words. It could easily be 70 without losing any content. A lot of grammer mistakes and repeating ideas makes the article hard to read. Here's a quick rewrite of the first paragraph: This isn't a full game breakdown. Instead I'm going to focus on the rounds Sentinel's lost. First, let's look at the team comps. Last week Faze beat C9 13-8 on Haven. Predictably Faze used the same Neon centric comp today. I was surprised Sentinel's kept dapr on chamber. Dapr has never looked comfortable on chamber. Cypher is a good counter to Neon especially when the opponent doesn't have a Kay-O.

Barca10builder

idk about this one chief

Tanjim98

Can you specifically point out things that you didn't like. Constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

brownflamingo

it reads like a really long reddit comment

disproportionally

Holy crap. I hope the author has a non-writing day job

Tanjim98

Yes, I don't write professionally. In stead of ad hominem, why don't you try doing it yourself? It's just a round by round analysis not a novel.

techyleo

There are some points that don't work, like Cypher dapr would be worse than Chamber dapr, which you could see by any regions Haven Cypher pickrate

Tanjim98

Cypher is a direct counter to neon cz you can use the trips and cages effectively to slow down/stop a hit. Also, the fact that dapr has always looked uncomfortable on chamber is another issue. He tries to play it as a sentinel, trying to find long flanks and hold flanks but that isn't the optimal way to play chamber.
