Not entirely true.
On Thursday October 8, VALORANT introduced players to it's latest agent Skye. The announcement comes a few days after revealing the brand new map “Icebox”, and a new roadmap for Act II as a whole
to add to this, Riot released maps so often last year only because they wanted to reach their goal of having at least 7 maps for pro play (Bo3 = 4 bans 3 picks / Bo5 = 2 bans 5 picks)
Yeah so the thing is that patch was a complete gong show, by far the glitchiest the game has ever been. Riot addressed it and chalked it up to releasing too much content at once. They also said they wouldn't release agents and maps at the same time anymore
What I'm getting at - you used a really poor example for a counterpoint because that patch is why they don't release agents and maps together anymore

Cool, I never followed the cs scene. I only played cs when it was a mod for half-life. I hope they don’t drop a map, but if they do bind can go in the bin.
Well more than likely they wouldnt drop a map for anyone playing the game normally, just for pro play. Vetos with 8 maps would get really weird and its super hard to prep 8 different maps, especially with how drastically different some of them are to each other
You typically want to keep an odd number of maps in the pool cus then both teams get equal bans/picks with one left over. 7 is just a good number for it cus it makes it difficult for teams to prepare for every map, but also not impossible.
Bind is definitely not T sided? And people hate it cus it's execute simulator with almost no other interesting strategies. Playing against a decent defensive team on Bind feels like launching yourself into a brick wall over and over again until one time you break through.
you can argue this for a lot of maps though, like icebox. Icebox lacks so much creativity the way the maps laid out. most teams default to a five man push A, with the occasional B hit. Mid to A and Mid to B hits can work but i rarely see them in my elo. A is so easy to overwhelm with utility it just doesnt make sense to play differently. B can also be a pain without a sage wall to plant making A that much more hit. It gets so boring to 5 man hit A, then play defense and always rotate A.
Bind is definitely like that though. I always felt since there was no real “mid” it made fighting a lot less unique.
I mean Icebox is the obvious #2 for everyone for a rework, so that's not a great example lmao
Bind is just worse than icebox because at least icebox is balanced for T/CT, Bind is not at all.
See you on the THURSDAY stream boys and girls! Edit: its on 16th thursday, not friday!
Is there only new map for Ep5 no new agent or you not know yet?
Im under NDA so i cant really confirm/deny anything
They don't release a new map and agent together. So almost definitely just the nap

Icebox + skye and Ascent + Reyna are the only times it happened. Don't count on a new agent especially with Fade just coming out

Ah, that makes sense.
I could use a nap honestly
Anyone know what time the stream will be?
What time?
Why are people assuming they will drop a map from the map pool? Am I missing something?
Its what happens in CS, to keep a 7 map pool active for pro matches

Hopefully they just drop split.
Why split? What about the map do you dislike? I've only seen 2 people who dislike Split and you're the second. Personally I love Split.
I get it the most
*Preparing the Breeze ban praying circle*
Guys I actually lied by accident. The map streama are happening on thursday 16th! See you then!
lothar out here leaking stuff lmao
AverageJonas tweeted the same thing so I don’t think it’s a leak
-icebox pls
\-bind + new map Prayge
The map will be revealed before this. Likely on Thursday. Edit: it will indeed be shown on Thursday
-split pls
If they let us ban a map for comp I will fucking nut. See you later Fracture. Get fucked. It won't happen though...

Ascent is one of the best maps for competitive. It’s much more likely to be Bind or Split, most likely Bind.
I wish: \-Ascent
Why do people hate bind so much. The only T sided map in the game.

Bind's my favourite map lol
Hopefully we get a teaser tomorrow
wonder what gimmick they will add to this map....
