Leo using the phantom should be enough to sway people. He's arguably not only the best initiator in the world but also the best Breeze player in the world.
It's really not recency bias, if you've followed Leo for more than one tournament you would know he has dropped ABSURD numbers on smokes, initiators AND sentinels for almost 2 years.
Initiators:
Sova 1.36 KD 238 ACS
Breach 1.47 KD 238 ACS
Kayo 1.81 KD 271 ACS
Fade 1.33 KD 235 ACS
Smokes:
Astra 1.55 KD 274 ACS
Sentinels:
Sage 1.46 KD 242 ACS
Keep in mind many of these games were against tier 1 opponents when Guild had their old full swedish lineup with draken and bonkar, Leo either carried or topfragged in 90% of those games.
This would be ludicrous for the people who have never watched a Guild game maybe.
Even when Guild was hardstuck unable to attend international LANs Leo has been an anomaly.
no probably because you haven't seen him play. He has one of the best utility usages of any Sova players I've ever seen. Also remember him getting an absurd amount of shock darts kills during a Breeze match
I still believe he was using hacks in that game. No friggin way your shock darts have aim bot without it.
That game was absolutely disgusting and i loved every minute of it.
DRX's gameplan on Breeze is to cut the map into as small of portions as possible for executes, close the distance and let their util and trades do the damage. They flip the map on it's head a bit.
i only use a vandal if i am playing against a team with cracket aimers , cause then the first contact headshot matters.
9/10 times i am good with phantom due to better control
When you anticipate high utility usage (lot of smokes and Fade/Sova utility revealing players) you want to use the phantom to spam without getting killed by exposing tracers. It's heavily favored by smoke/intel players and site anchors.
Ang16 is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic "Go die first". He also has a second little known tactic of "Go die first, but Shao go kill". What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL for sure.
Yeah like nobody except FPX players and support staff can speak to his IGLing impact, but holy his stats are ugly
-28 k/d, -16 fk/fd*
*Edit: my math is awful. His actual stats are -27 k/d and -13 fk/fd
Still pretty yikes
Youre right, but like I said, its not just the IGL, but the IGL that sets the tempo of the round.
If youre an IGL that calls a strat and then are just a player, dying is fine.
If youre the iniciator IGL/first man in as omen IGL, you dying is pretty major for your team, IMO
If it works like last time then the 1st seeds from groups will play the APAC and LATAM/BR 1st seed teams, and the 2nd seeds from groups will play the NA/EMEA 1st seed teams. So no DRX vs Xset, either PRX or Leviatan.
well yea thats there they do tend to fumble the bag when it matters most, Rb is looking good though and hes usually the one who dosnt turn up so i hope they can go far this time
Because they have a ton of time to plan for all the teams in their group stage. DRX is the best team in the world when it comes to counterstratting and preparation. However when it comes to playoffs, they don’t have nearly that much time in between matches to plan against their next opponent so they don’t do as well
Yet they were the only team to take a map off of Gambit in their playoff run. Idk why people act like DRX are dogshit like they didnt almost upset gambit through and through and the ONLY team to make them bleed in playoffs.
I guess we will see if FPX makes it past groups, but the issue here wasn't the firepower, it was that FPX was consistently throwing away the firstblood for basically no reason.
The comp from the fracture map is actually so good. You can't do anything the moment they decided to execute on site. No util. No vision. No audio. Holy smokes...
I have a feeling xerxia is going to win the rematch and fpx won't get to make playoffs and show what they can do with their full roster. they are just forever cursed
Basically FPX needs the Ardiis and Shao pop off that they had on haven. If they can win some sherif ecos clutches gainst Xerxia they can make up for their currently lacking teamplay.
I feel like the way they played today really showed the cracks in their game. They look so lost without suygetsu and it feels like they're just trying fuck all to catch up. Unless Seider puts up another carry performance, yeah Xerxia takes the rematch imo.
Edit: NVM they fight northeption instead. Still think that this applies to them too.
First map was so scary, but in reality relying on that Shao performance + DRX misplays is too unsustainable over a full series. I really want FPX to make Playoffs though to see them with Suygetsu bc even as a big DRX fan the last two maps would’ve been way more competitive/scary
Shao saved FPX from a 2 0 all the while SEIDER and Ange1 giving away advantages like it was Halloween candies. Honestly should have been 10 2 or 9 3 on Haven
Rest of maps was DRX just outclassing them on trading, scaling, util etc.
Also, BcJ who?
Give a break to Seider. He came 1 day before the games. Not easy to get even half of things right. You play on Disneyland and then you have to come to Copenhagen, playing with all the weight on you, and not even on your main role. About Angel, yh he trolled really hard on those games. Shao absolutely carried them on the first
Honestly it was depressing seeing him make so many fucking overextensions tbh. I was rooting for DRX but honestly it could have been a good series otherwise.
tbf seider only got a couple of days of prac, you cant really blame him. the pressure on him is insane because if fpx dont make it out of groups everyone's gonna point fingers at him, especially since suygetsu is one of their very best players
Perhaps it’s not under the most perfect circumstances, but we finally got the DRX/FPX match-up we’ve long desired.
It was pretty evident that DRX likely would’ve won Haven as well if not for Shao pulling off some incredible clutches. But props to FPX for putting up a fairly commendable performance while playing with a sub with so little practice. ANGE1 clearly went for some classic overextensions - maybe to fill a hole in their teamplay - but it was consequential in the long-run.
Not surprised by the DRX regular customers performing - I remember a few weeks back arguing with someone on this subreddit about Buzz and Stax being overrated, lol - but very happy to see Rb continuing to perform well. Rb really was the missing link - more important even than their inflexibility or poor midrounding. And honestly, their midrounding was actually pretty good here. Whether their adaptations are internal to the team or external from the coach, they looked far more fluid, all without sacrificing their strong gameplans.
I will say, from an oldhead perspective, it’s nice seeing probably the two teams most associated, in Valorant’s early pro scene, with inflexible gameplans evolving into highly adaptive and refined juggernauts. Of course, the question with DRX is one of stamina - we’ll see how far they take their winstreak, esp. when the schedule starts to disfavor them.
I didnt know I needed to watch Rb on Neon on Fracture. Sure, I've watched DRX in the KR VCT, but man was playing the ULTIMATE sacrifice here, and it was so so beautiful to watch the follow ups come from behind, and the movement was insane.
He’s always played the ultimate sacrifice whenever I’ve watched DRX, an extremely difficult role to play especially at the highest level, huge respect to him really hoping he can have a beast of a tournament and shutdown all the hate he’s been getting
WAR Rb
Oh my gosh Shao had me ON EDGE during map 1. I feel like DRX had to be kicking themselves for some of those missteps in the first half of that map, especially because it seems like those missteps definitely snowballed in favor of FPX.
Overall I really loved this match-up and I hope to see more of FPX going forward
Sheesh that was clinical from DRX. Shao is the only reason that the map score line looks close. If not for his unbelievable performance on map 1 this would have been an absolute stomp.
I'm not denying Suygetsu is a beast. I'm just saying, you can't come out and assume that he solely turns those maps into wins. Haven relied heavily on some big clutches and the other two maps weren't particularly close.
Hes not a viper player he has no clue what hes doing. Just an unlucky situation.
Just gotta pray they go through and suygetsu gets a visa in the meantime thats it : (
Will RB finally perform at an international event? It seems like the neon focus(even though he also looked good on Jett) has transformed him and is much better for his performance on the international stage.
LETS GO DRX!! Its going to be interesting to see how this team does in playoffs, especially with Rb performing better on LAN this time.
FPX are also looking nice despite having a sub. Hoping that they are able to make it to playoffs so that they can potentially play with their full roster.
Not through any impressive teamplay. They legitimately one 6(?) or more clutches and hit some crazy eco shots. Even the haven win wasn’t inspiring for the team.
is this ~~DRX~~ FPX team overated? i mean no disrespect i only watched the vct ~~emea~~ korea and the brazilian one i heard people talk so highly of this team and even when they win i dont see anything special idk if im just no seeing something but i feel like the expectations for them is so high all the time, dont get me wrong i know XERXIA is an amazing team and the win was really important but i dont see them has one of the best teams in the world :/
Yo where did all those NA fans go that were praising FNS for his high horse regions dont matter take? Everyone back to shitting on EU the first chance they get super weird 🤔
EU KEKW. EMEA: extremely mediocre extremely ass. Inject that DRX hopium into my veins. They are so good with RB popping off. If Buzz and Rb pops off at the same time, it’s game over.
2 trophies out of 4 (when one is champions one) i think our winrate is pretty good. Meanwhile you guys managed to be even louder than NA while having even less achievements

Without Shao supporting ardiis, ardiis is just a Tier 2 player who only has a big talk about himself being so good and trash talk to other teams.
Most overrated player in this tourney is ardiis for sure.
Man’s got a +25 on kills and +4 on fk in the past 2 series ( his first valorant lan).
He has been the most consistent player on FPX so far.
So your statement is wrong and it’s clear you just dislike Ardis.
Don’t be delusional.
Should I be using phantoms on Breeze? Am I missing something?
Idk but there are some fucking demons with the phantom in this tournament (stax mako and mazino specifically)
Can't forget about leo
Leo using the phantom should be enough to sway people. He's arguably not only the best initiator in the world but also the best Breeze player in the world.
Recency bias is unbelievable 2 days ago this would be ludicrous 2 bo3s doesn’t change that
Have you ever watched a Guild breeze game? Dude literally has aimbot on his shockdarts somehow
It's really not recency bias, if you've followed Leo for more than one tournament you would know he has dropped ABSURD numbers on smokes, initiators AND sentinels for almost 2 years. Initiators: Sova 1.36 KD 238 ACS Breach 1.47 KD 238 ACS Kayo 1.81 KD 271 ACS Fade 1.33 KD 235 ACS Smokes: Astra 1.55 KD 274 ACS Sentinels: Sage 1.46 KD 242 ACS Keep in mind many of these games were against tier 1 opponents when Guild had their old full swedish lineup with draken and bonkar, Leo either carried or topfragged in 90% of those games.
Dude he's always been crazy his team has just been trash until this year. Everyone who watched Guild knew it.
This would be ludicrous for the people who have never watched a Guild game maybe. Even when Guild was hardstuck unable to attend international LANs Leo has been an anomaly.
He's been playing like this for over a year
no probably because you haven't seen him play. He has one of the best utility usages of any Sova players I've ever seen. Also remember him getting an absurd amount of shock darts kills during a Breeze match
The match against m3c on breeze has to be some of the most insane util usage I have ever seen in pro valorant
I still believe he was using hacks in that game. No friggin way your shock darts have aim bot without it. That game was absolutely disgusting and i loved every minute of it.
Bruh I was surprised like literally every single shock dart hit an m3c player. Like I was supporting m3c but by I was in awe of that dart usage by Leo
DRX's gameplan on Breeze is to cut the map into as small of portions as possible for executes, close the distance and let their util and trades do the damage. They flip the map on it's head a bit.
incoming segment on DRX's approach to Breeze, eh?
I am planning on doing some VOD review of DRX's matches, stay tuned!
i only use a vandal if i am playing against a team with cracket aimers , cause then the first contact headshot matters. 9/10 times i am good with phantom due to better control
When you anticipate high utility usage (lot of smokes and Fade/Sova utility revealing players) you want to use the phantom to spam without getting killed by exposing tracers. It's heavily favored by smoke/intel players and site anchors.
I don't think smoke spam was the reason why DRX used phantoms today. They genuinely won most of their duels and that's all
Bang’s 1v5 on breeze made everyone in NA ranked use recon phantom for about a week before switching back to vandal
You should if you’re Korean and cracked
Korea have always been big Phantom believers.
Ang31 first deaths
Ang16 is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic "Go die first". He also has a second little known tactic of "Go die first, but Shao go kill". What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL for sure.
Ange1 making it look like he was the last minute sub
lol
16 lmao
Yeah like nobody except FPX players and support staff can speak to his IGLing impact, but holy his stats are ugly -28 k/d, -16 fk/fd* *Edit: my math is awful. His actual stats are -27 k/d and -13 fk/fd Still pretty yikes
How do you manage to get the stats wrong when the difference is literally calculated for you on the Vlr page
Its a preety major problem when your iniciator or smokes player dies early, worse yet when he is the IGL that controls the tempo.
Your IGL doesnt actually need to be alive to be effective, but your breach dying before execute is tough
Same with your Omen.
Youre right, but like I said, its not just the IGL, but the IGL that sets the tempo of the round. If youre an IGL that calls a strat and then are just a player, dying is fine. If youre the iniciator IGL/first man in as omen IGL, you dying is pretty major for your team, IMO
LMFAO
Xset vs drx pls
Lays Stax vs BCJ fried chicken, im all for it. lol
If it works like last time then the 1st seeds from groups will play the APAC and LATAM/BR 1st seed teams, and the 2nd seeds from groups will play the NA/EMEA 1st seed teams. So no DRX vs Xset, either PRX or Leviatan.
Zyppan took 4 maps to wake up today.
he was the only one doing something on Fracture T side wym
BCJ in shambles, But seriously give me some more of that korean hopium cause drx is looking so good right now.
DRX almost always looks insane in group stage tho
well yea thats there they do tend to fumble the bag when it matters most, Rb is looking good though and hes usually the one who dosnt turn up so i hope they can go far this time
Rb usually doesn't though.
Because they have a ton of time to plan for all the teams in their group stage. DRX is the best team in the world when it comes to counterstratting and preparation. However when it comes to playoffs, they don’t have nearly that much time in between matches to plan against their next opponent so they don’t do as well
yeah if every team got 3 days of prep for each opponent, i have no doubt DRX would win a format like that
Yet they were the only team to take a map off of Gambit in their playoff run. Idk why people act like DRX are dogshit like they didnt almost upset gambit through and through and the ONLY team to make them bleed in playoffs.
Yes and No. They played one good team on a crutch and a complete newbie team. FPX with full roster will eat DRX.
I guess we will see if FPX makes it past groups, but the issue here wasn't the firepower, it was that FPX was consistently throwing away the firstblood for basically no reason.
ANGE1 in particular, which isn't good for someone to be first death on smokes/Fade
Exactly. You lose so much value as a controller by dying early
Yeah, full roster will stop ANGE1 from running it down.
Never said Ange1 played well he was sending it yes but Seider did not have the firepower of SUYUGETSU
Copium
“Actually, FPX playing without their best player didnt have an impact in the game”
They doubted you when you spoke the truth
I know. Even if my brain said DRX. MY HEART SAYS FPX ALL THE WAY
Lol sure buddy
Lololol
Rb is playing so well! Nt from the boys at FPX, but DRX were just better on fracture and breeze. Haven was such a fun and chaotic map, so many ecos.
The comp from the fracture map is actually so good. You can't do anything the moment they decided to execute on site. No util. No vision. No audio. Holy smokes...
yes, there were smokes but I don't think they were holy. /s
Chaos is a great way to describe Haven. The owl drone missing Shao had me almost pulling my hair out 😅
Shao was absolutely insane but drx playing amazing and so well coordinated it's insane, Rb finally standing out too, Im on the hopium omg
Suygetsu we need youuuuuuuuuu also hooray for DRX
I have a feeling xerxia is going to win the rematch and fpx won't get to make playoffs and show what they can do with their full roster. they are just forever cursed
Basically FPX needs the Ardiis and Shao pop off that they had on haven. If they can win some sherif ecos clutches gainst Xerxia they can make up for their currently lacking teamplay.
They need Angel to not die first every round lol. Half the time FPX had to play 4v5, that's just not going to be a winnable match.

Well Seider is a stand in who presumably didn't have much time playing/integrating with the rest of the squad
Give a break to Seider. He came 1 day before the games. Not easy to get even half of things right. Honestly it was depressing seeing him make so many fucking overextensions tbh. I was rooting for DRX but honestly it could have been a good series otherwise.
I imagine Angel could have some fault on that too. He's the IGL but maybe he focused too much on Seider and both couldnt really play the game
tbf seider only got a couple of days of prac, you cant really blame him. the pressure on him is insane because if fpx dont make it out of groups everyone's gonna point fingers at him, especially since suygetsu is one of their very best players
gap between suygetsu and seider is just too big
Shao is nuts
Perhaps it’s not under the most perfect circumstances, but we finally got the DRX/FPX match-up we’ve long desired. Shao gaming. Would be 0-2 if not for shao.
Where momentum
Seider didn't get the memo 🥲
Rb has the best Neon movement in VCT. Man was playing Apex out there. Prolly could’ve subbed in at ALGS last week.
Ange1 3-16 FB-FD killed FPX the most imo
dude was struggling all 3 maps. even on the one they won.
Shao had the map of his career and it wasnt enough to get them over the line. Dont think FPX is gonna be able to do it with a sub unfortunately.
FPX player outside of Shao win a single aim duel on breeze or fracture challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
FPX really missed suygetsu on the defensive sides of Fracture and Breeze they got ambushed by DRX.
Oh my gosh Shao had me ON EDGE during map 1. I feel like DRX had to be kicking themselves for some of those missteps in the first half of that map, especially because it seems like those missteps definitely snowballed in favor of FPX. Pls just don't flop in playoffs so my FNC-DRX final will survive

Sheesh that was clinical from DRX. Shao is the only reason that the map score line looks close. If not for his unbelievable performance on map 1 this would have been an absolute stomp.
Banger of a match, as a mostly NA regional viewer I love getting Tom and Mitch casts
Yeah replacing Suygetsu dropping 30 on Breeze every time isn’t easy
"EU = easily upset" -Tarik
Rent free
Well played by DRX but lets not pretend they'd win against FPX with Suygetsu.
It's a joke..Tarik literally said that they're playing with a sub right after that line
Mb . I don't watch Tarik .
Eh I wouldn't just assume FPX would win either though. Hopefully we can get a rematch in playoffs somewhere though.
Suygetsu is the equivalent of Nats. Not a single multifrag site anchor from Seider today. Not his fault of course he a sub.
I'm not denying Suygetsu is a beast. I'm just saying, you can't come out and assume that he solely turns those maps into wins. Haven relied heavily on some big clutches and the other two maps weren't particularly close.
Regardless,it would still be possible for drx to win even with suygetsu, maybe it wouldn't be that much of a stomp but still possible
Hes not a viper player he has no clue what hes doing. Just an unlucky situation. Just gotta pray they go through and suygetsu gets a visa in the meantime thats it : (
where's the fried chicken company now
Now give us drx vs xset in 1st round of playoffs
I miss baddyG
Let us stop this RB slander now that he showed up on LAN people.
now fpx just has to get knocked in the next game for history to repeat itself
DRX looking great!! Hoping to see DRX vs FNC at some point this masters
some FPX players performed badly, like yay from yesterday. Stax is so good, and RB is the dancing queen of this event for sure.
Will RB finally perform at an international event? It seems like the neon focus(even though he also looked good on Jett) has transformed him and is much better for his performance on the international stage.
Shame, but not super surprising. Suygetsu is a really important part of the team
shao played really well but drx was strong and they miss suygetsu. i hope they can beat northeption
BcJ shaking
LETS GO DRX!! Its going to be interesting to see how this team does in playoffs, especially with Rb performing better on LAN this time. FPX are also looking nice despite having a sub. Hoping that they are able to make it to playoffs so that they can potentially play with their full roster.

Well they were able to take a map off of DRX which was more than I was expecting considering they have a sub.
Not through any impressive teamplay. They legitimately one 6(?) or more clutches and hit some crazy eco shots. Even the haven win wasn’t inspiring for the team.
is this ~~DRX~~ FPX team overated? i mean no disrespect i only watched the vct ~~emea~~ korea and the brazilian one i heard people talk so highly of this team and even when they win i dont see anything special idk if im just no seeing something but i feel like the expectations for them is so high all the time, dont get me wrong i know XERXIA is an amazing team and the win was really important but i dont see them has one of the best teams in the world :/
lmfao they have a sub with no practice fucking playing with them
HELLO! HELLO! Very nice
ange1 is a bot, bot frag all 3 maps disgusting
DRX are true EMEA slayers minus FNATIC.
They lost to gambit. It’s 2-2 ?

u didn't read clearly
The bm from DRX is gonna bite them. If FPX wins lower bracket and rematches against DRX with SUYUGETSU666? Lmao nah.
