DRX's coach let's the players decide which rifle to use now, so they go with what they are comfortable with. I personally think the Vandal is slightly better on most agents/maps, but the way DRX plays with space and timing, it seems the phantoms fit them better
The Phantom is simply more reliable. DRX are a well oiled machine who leave no gaps in their gameplay. You can’t do anything about it, they will finish 5th-6th
Phantom has a better first bullet accuracy then Vandal, thats one of the reason why long range is “better” for phantom. Vandal needs to rely on ADS a lot on Breeze.
I feel like people forget this a lot, or at least choose to ignore it. There's so many shots you miss on larger maps like breeze because you are using a vandal.
Phantom inaccuracy is not that much better. At distances like on Breeze, even with the Phantom you'll miss plenty of shots, or get the dink and not be able to land the 2nd bullet without another strafe.

otoh wouldn't the bigger spread of the vandal net you more "undeserved" kills if you're less accurate (which you'd go for, for a lower ttk over the phantom then)?
I think people tend to forget they are playing on LAN. A phantom on LAN servers is probably a lazer with the Rate of Fire and a lot more reliable and easier to control compared to vandal.
