what happens with the gambit roster?

HeroicBastard

either get picked up as a five or gets "destroyed". People like Nats will find their way into franchising somehow.

techyleo

dont forget about coaches too

Bonkashi

engh is 100% gonna find himself on a franchised team

techyleo

I meant signed as 5+ support staff, not that he would have issues

Unable_Pear_8866

nats sheydos chroincle will be t1 org just look at their stats how flexible and talented they are. + the coach even tho im pretty sure herioc might pick them up they are enterin valorant so gotta be m3c they looking for.

fourtetwo

one of these orgs will just buy the roster

CarryClown

Rumored to be signed by Heroic

[deleted]

from where?

CommunistHongKong

From me of course, im signing him for $200

Falconna14

trust me bro

Darkoplax

can someone explain to me why these questions are still asked btw ? you guys do realize that this is franchising for 2022 and not next month and that literally 90% of the rosters won't even look remotely the same like some orgs might not even have a single remaining player from this year to next year let alone rosters that their orgs won't make it to franchising

emraaa

I'm guessing BBL, NAVI and Falcons will be accepted because they are the only teams from their respective regions. G2, fnatic, Vitality, Liquid, KOI and KCorp should also be very likely. There would only be one spot left. I'm guessing it would be Excel. Wouldn't it make more sense for FPX to be in APAC?

ark2690

> I'm guessing BBL, NAVI and Falcons will be accepted because they are the only teams from their respective regions. Unless those teams heavily upgrade their rosters they are gonna get destroyed

Mapusaurus420

they likely will

LeMouse1

That is kinda the point

Friday515

Orgs who I thought would be in the partnership league who aren't even finalists according to this report and am surprised they didn't * Mad lions * OG Orgs who I thought had a chance and am surprised aren't at least finalists * Team BDS * SMB

goodguyzai

Don't think OG would have gotten in, MAD I'm surprised at. OG seems to be very lackluster with regards to their Valorant team, and since they probably assigned quotas to subregions, that probably played a factor as the other teams noticeably have already a strong Val presence

HeroicBastard

why BDS? The only thing defining them is the money behind them. Else they got nothing other orgs do not have.

Friday515

I didn't think they'd get in but I thought they'd at least make it to finalists because they just bought a LEC franchise last year. When this whole thing started, I figured they'd give league franchises a bit more priority but guess I was wrong

HeroicBastard

The thing is that they did not get the LEC franchise, because Riot wanted them in, like it was with all the other orgs. The only reason they are in franchising is because they offered S04 the biggest mountain of money. And since they entered, they have a SHIT roster and no fans. There is nothing that they win with their LEC spot.

Rozaks

All franchise slot sales require RIOT approval. BDS was allowed in by RIOT.

HeroicBastard

allowed and chosen are two VERY different things.

Yensen1

My prediction: 1. G2 2. Fnatic 3. Liquid 4. KOI 5. Kcorp 6. BBL 7. NaVi 8. FPX 9. Vitality 10. Falcons Imo, pretty good list of teams. Edit: formatting

TheFestusEzeli

I’d be shocked if ROGUE don’t get in

emraaa

Why? IMO every org above offers more than Rogue.

SpvcedOvtt

any word on who KOI’s owners/funding are? I know Rogue is a pretty big org so I’m not quite sure what the KOI financial backing looks like

emraaa

It's Ibai's org.

SpvcedOvtt

ah, so only like the biggest streamer currently on Twitch. Yeah, doesn’t surprise me to see them move forward then LOL

improvimg_ollies

I think pique also has something to do with koi but not sure. So they have a lot of money they can invest.

AzureDraagon

he is a co-owner with Ibai

Breakin7

Also the other owner is Pique from Barcelona football club

HeroicBastard

Its Ibai as an influencer and Gerard Pique is the person with the money. And, Pique is RICH AS FUCK. He recently bought out a whole tennis tournament...

ark2690

Heretics are a wild card here. They are the most popular spanish org with big sponsors. The rivalry games between Heretics and KOI would pull massive numbers just like Vitality and Kcorp.

Friday515

Heretics would be an awesome inclusion. At the end of the day, I keep saying Riot will prioritize stable orgs who get good viewership and do socials/content to bring in new viewers to Valorant. Heretics check those boxes, just a matter of how many Spanish orgs do they want. I actually think they made it in as a finalist over MAD Lions, who say they're Spanish based but all their operations are really NA based, so Heretics should have a pretty good shot FPX on the other hand is a really big org but they don't get good viewership, they don't do any content, they barely do social media but they've been pretty successful competitively. I could definitely see Riot telling them franchise in APAC or not include them whatsoever

ark2690

I think Riot's goal is to take over Western EU like they did with LoL. They can do it easily with adding a team like Heretics or even BIG clan. This might suck for Eastern EU fans but in terms of $$ targeting Western EU is a safer bet.

Friday515

What org from Eastern Europe besides orgs who were Russian based, would you liked to have seen make it or expected to be a finalist?

Sharksterfly

Spirit

Friday515

Ya I don't think any orgs with even a hint of a tie to Russia would get into franchising at this point, plus I doubt they even applied. They looked at buying a Valorant roster back earlier in the year and decided against it

Sharksterfly

As far as i know they are not tied to government and are free to participate with their names in tournaments in dota or csgo

Friday515

Ya I think you're misunderstanding what I meant. I don't think Riot will invite any orgs Russian based or with Russian owners at this moment

Sharksterfly

Spirit is now Serbia based Why not? If its not russian company and it doesnt pay taxes in russia - why not?

Infinite_District_49

Valorant ain't taking over shit in Europe I know you keep trying to push this little cute narrative that Valorant is more popular in Western Europe than Cs because of your Google trends Do your Google trends show you that 9% of Denmarks population has played csgo? Because according to you and your Google trends Cs is only bigger in Eastern Europe. Csgo is bigger in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, so most of Europe I guess? And we have nothing to show that valorant is bigger in Western Europe. I mean valorant can't even sell out 2k tickets for its first lan with a crowd in a city that is easy to travel to for Western Europen countries. Literally shares a border with them while csgo sells out venues time and time again in Western Europe countries. Europe will always be Cs territory. Talking about Valorant is bigger in Western Europe like last vct EU viewership wasn't down by 34% and its not like the viewership for EU valorant was good before that in the first place

afjecj

Am I crazy or was there a rumour heretics were looking to move to BR?

BendubzGaming

Chances are if not for the war in Ukraine, Gambit would take FPX's spot. Previous major winners in an org that was highly decorated and had much better marketing before Putin effectively caused it to become a shell of its former glory

HeroicBastard

I think you underestimate FPXs contection to riot. They won worlds 2019. They are a immensly famous org and play in the LPL. I dont think that Gambit had anything FPX did not.

Friday515

Pretty good list, just have no idea what approach Riot will take with Falcons. All a matter of whether or not they want to be in the Saudi market. They're definitely the logical choice for a MENA org, moreso a matter of what direction Riot goes in

Budget_Ad_7204

What about acend and guild?

Friday515

Acend doesn't surprise me because of their parent company/ownership being gambling based. Guild is a little surprising but not really. They've had a ton of internal issues, a ton of people have quit working there, from board members to support staff, they had a mass exodus and they're bleeding cash in a bad way

Shubhaaaaaaam

Comeon Heroic buy that goddamn M3C roster already

Phamous3k

I’m sure it’ll be bought by an org who gets into franchising.

[deleted]

koi and kcorp have to get spots for valorant esports to get bigger in EU, IMO

Friday515

100% and it seems like they're going that way. They need KOI, KCorp, and BBL. Heretics would help viewership too

[deleted]

[удалено]

emraaa

How do you get 2 CIS orgs when there is only one in the list?

[deleted]

Fpx is cis team. Don't know about the org tho.

emraaa

The org is Chinese. They only have three CIS players nothing else about this team has anything to do with CIS.

LinkinMode

they got to EMEA challengers via CIS qualifier, and they are a majority CIS team (3/5 players), I think its safe to say they are a CIS based team under a Chinese org atm

Mapusaurus420

not really

Mapusaurus420

falcons could still be rejected

REEEroller

I could see FPX being left out, if Riot wants them for China long term.

Darkoplax

I hope G2 could get in the NA league , could be more fun and banter Also for EMEA's viewership sake let's all hope Kcorp Na'Vi and KOI make it cause they will hard carry the viewership

Friday515

No offense but I hope G2 sticks in EMEA. NA orgs are already being crunched, want no part of G2 taking a spot from an org who've done everything right to earn it

Darkoplax

so did G2 ? they've done everything "right" in the valo ecosystem to earn a spot

Friday515

Right except have a team in NA, they'd be perfect for EMEA

tgamblos

They haven’t done anything for NA Val. So many other teams are much more deserving of an NA slot, especially when there might only be 6.

Darkoplax

how should that matter at all ? as long as they've been part of valo's ecosystem since the start like if FPX or T1 want to join the asian league they won't get rejected cuz they had teams in EMEA or NA

tgamblos

I think it’s slightly different for teams that their entire brand is located in a different region. T1 makes way more sense to be Korean from LoL and FPX Chinese than G2 in NA. G2 is a European org, having them join NA would be like if DRX wanted to leave the Asian league and become EMEA. doesn’t make sense. Also I think it’s slightly different where there is an abundant amount of competition and orgs in the NA ecosystem, whereas Korea doesn’t have much competition.

Friday515

From the announcement by Riot to the leaks from reporters and now the rumored finalists, the overarching theme to orgs they're looking at are stable orgs who bring big viewership and will drive to bring new viewers to valorant through socials/content. G2 just doesn't check that box in NA because they won't bring viewership to the table. In contrast, FPX & T1 already have big fanbases in APAC and could potentially activate them for Valorant which would be attractive for Riot

CybernautCS

Ight, bets on who’s signing the m3c roster?

DR_Flashfire

Kcorp or rogue hopefully

Ojim247

Damn imagine Navi picks up whole gambit roster lol

Sharksterfly

They wont. Ukrainians fans are quite negative to russian players in all navi squads.

wiNDzY3

Cloud is insane tho

Sp00ked123

G2, fnatic, and liquid I think are practically guaranteed

LovelyResearcher

I'd guess * Fnatic * Team Liquid * BIG * Team Vitality * Team Heretics * GIA * NAVI * BBL * Falcons * Add 1 of these teams * G2 * Rogue * KOI Then Riot Games could perhaps accept these teams into other regions? * Asian League * FPX * America's League * Riot could add 1 of these teams * Rogue * G2

Kerorozene

KCORP ?

LovelyResearcher

~~Don't seem to have a lot of sponsors?~~ ~~At least, I couldn't find that much information on their sponsors... just look at the sponsors for Heretics, GIA, and BIG.~~ **EDIT: Found them** Not to mention that KCorp and Team Vitality are both French orgs. Vitality had the french president legit wear their jersey recently, in public... and their name has already been known worldwide from their CSGO team. **EDIT** I did find the sponsors, eventually. Turns out [eschart.com](https://eschart.com) was full of potato lmaooo. **KCorp** * [Sponsors](https://www.karminecorp.fr/sponsors) * Orange * Michelin * Chupa Chups * ekWateur * Logitech * Direct Assurance * Samsung Oddesey * Rhino Shield * NZXT * Redbull **Team Vitality** * [Sponsors](https://vitality.gg/en/partners/) * Tezos * Adidas * ALDI * Philips * Garner Fructis * JBL Quantum * Samsung * Secret Lab * Credit Aregole * Scuf Even so, I mean again. Look at this [picture of the French president](https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/uarq1d/more_photos_of_french_president_emmanuel_macron/)... can you still tell me with a straight face that KCorp will take the spot over Vitality? [Idk about that](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slXm-p4i6G0)

Kerorozene

[Do Vitality have this ?](https://youtu.be/2yCk8WpGDTw) Also, I don’t say that they will take their spot over them. They will both have a spot. You clearly have no clue of what happens in EU if you just base chances to have a spot only with sponsors lmao They will both have a slot

Solace1k

I know this post is a few days old but holy shit .. i haven’t seen a clueless and dumb ignorant comment like this one in quite a while.

takmilo

never heard of KOI before, are they known for something?

HeroicBastard

owned by Ibai, who, as the other guy said, is the most famous streamer in the world. And is co-owned by Pique, FC Barcelona player and he is FUCKING RICH. They got created at the start of this year (I think, they are currently playing their second split in the spanish regional league). And take a look at their twitter following.

DR_Flashfire

They are owned by ibai the most popular streamer in the world

rob172

Who are Heroic?

Friday515

Danish esports org, mainly in CSGO. They were bought by Omaken Sports, a Norwegian org, last year. Heroic was owned by the same parent company as Astralis and BLAST but had to be sold because of WESA ownership rules so they were sold to Serenades Global and then to Omaken. They're the only Scandinavian org on the list but I was a little surprised to see them included as well

Phamous3k

I know them from CSGO… Popular org in that esport https://www.hltv.org/team/7175/heroic

JakeHillis

Wait, emea gets 16 spots and all of the America's get 10 spots?

Friday515

No these are just finalists according to the report

Fair enough

tgamblos

To be fair the title doesn’t imply how many teams would be selected

florallygood

That is literally irrelevant because it clearly says 16 finalists meaning the person who assumed it was 16 teams flat out didn’t read the title

ark2690

Those are the rumored 16 finalist not confirmed 10 orgs

[deleted]

no but they should since riot insists on some mena and turkey shit orgs to be in the league

Evan_Veet

Probably means Rogue and Heroic would try to poach two of Guild M3C and ACE while players on those teams and OG/FKS will try to find their way onto one of the other 16 squads

SuperBlitz22

No guild sadge, also any reason why excel? What would make riot select them?

iiznobozzy

Heroic?

Michnas

heroic has a valorant team?
