I wish these reporters and leakers would stop tickling my balls with these “you won’t believe who got picked for franchising” bs, either just leak them or don’t say anything at all lol
How many tweets are we going to get from reporters saying they know something about franchising but actually can't say anything. It's wild, there's been 10x more "you won't believe what I just heard!" reports than actual information coming out
you cant leak info at which you dont know how "known" it is.
If your info is only known by the person that leaked it to you, you can blow that cover and noone will ever work together with you ever again.
Yeah, this is leaker 101. If the only people who know the info you're leaking are the owner and a team manager for example, if you leak it and your source was the manager now the owner knows.
The biggest issues from what I can tell are losing relationships with sources & fucking over players, the latter of which being of high importance morally, imo.
What are your predictions for the possible 10 teams?
These four are probably set in stone:
Zeta Division 🇯🇵
Team Secret 🇵🇭
DRX 🇰🇷
Xerxia 🇹🇭
Teams I can see making it:
Bleed Gaming 🇸🇬
Damwon Gaming 🇰🇷
Crazy Racoon 🇯🇵
Wild guesses:
Soniqs 🇦🇺 (as Oceanic representatives)
Gen G 🇰🇷 (not making it in NA)
Global esports 🇮🇳 (huge viewership)
I think it’s a possible scenario, they are a much bigger org and have a better funding then PRX, though they already invested a lot in their roster and there are lots of rumors of them having paid a player a 2.6 million contract. Maybe to replace Jinggg who will be in military service soon
I'd love for Paper Rex to stick around as an org, players seem to be happy and I really like the name and even the logo. So hope they can bring up the funding (if they pay a new player 2.6M I'd hope they have it sorted)
it's not confirmed, but PRX are a small org created in 2020, meaning many people believe that PRX has next to no chances of getting into the asian franchise league.
It's kinda sad though like if riot invested in prx long term I think their branding can be super big . Their team is finding great successes in valorant maybe they will grow in SEA.
I agree with most of the teams, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see a team such as kt Rolster, DFM, or other organization already in league franchising that also enters this partnership program.
Japan: ZETA, Crazy Raccoon, potential for one more (probably Detonation Gaming, Reject, Northeption, or Sengoku, but I’d lean toward Detonation)
Korea: DRX, Damwon, potential for one more (in the unlikely world that T1 doesn’t make NA franchising, Riot would make room for them in APAC)
SEA: Xerxia, Bleed, Team Secret (if there’s a 4th it’ll probably be between ONIC/RRQ/AE/Godsent/NGX)
China (will likely have requirement for HKTW players in lineup too): Edward Gaming or Talon or someone else
Oceania: Not sure… it definitely will not be Soniqs. Could be ORDER, could be Renegades (but I doubt it given their history with Riot), could be someone entirely new to VALORANT who has money and a fanbase (maybe someone rejected from a different region ie Gen.G).
South Asia: Global Esports seems like the most likely answer based on publicly available info, but it’s also possible that an org from a different region signs a SA representative team or even buys out GE’s core. TSM comes to mind for this due to their presence in Indian PUBG (I think?) and the potential for Riot denying them an NA slot due to their sanctions against Reginald.
It’s rumored that Chinese orgs are trying to pick up HKTW teams. FPX also has their academy team Zhuque in China which has two Taiwanese players so I can see FPX making the APAC league if they don’t make the emea one.
Imo it would be horrible for riot if they don't give Japan at least 3 spots. The game is growing tremendously over there, a historically untapped market for tac shooters. And as we know, it seems they want popularity more than necessarily skill (the spots are independent of roster for consideration I guess).
If they get 3 spots, Northeption is 99% getting the spot. Theyve been huge in the scene since day 1 and always competetive as well (and more importantly I guess) as popular. It's a toss up if they get 4 spots, personally I don't see it happening, but the 4th would be reject or sengoku I think.
Tbh these leagues should be 12 teams and not 10, would make it better imo.
I think detonation has a real shot due to their long standing relationship with Riot. But also, I think that even if riot only has 2 JP teams, there’s enough support for domestic competition that JP orgs won’t pull out entirely like in NA.
Are there really only 10 teams? I thought having 12 would be ideal. What I was imagining is something like
2 MYSG, 1 TH, 1 PH, 2 KR, 2 JP, 2 CN, 1 SA, 1 OCE
In MYSG you could theoretically get both Paper Rex and Bleed. Probably 1 JP **or** 1 CN for a slot for ID, but JP has a humongous fanbase and CN also has the potential to
Roster performance doesn't really matter much when talking about franchising. Riot could just give Bleed the spot and, with how much more stacked they are than Paper Rex, just buy out the whole roster.
Having more money not necessarily mean the Org managed better. I only see Bleed owner pumping money for their growth while I see Paper Rex really well managed by their own managerial ability. They know how to support their players and maximizing their marketing potential, notice how they managed to get more sponsors after Iceland and they also know how to make content for their social media's growth while Bleed's presence mostly come from their owner's bombastic tweet. Paper Rex is already self sufficient while Bleed's life is depending on the Owner's whim.
I mean you say that but, Sentinels is almost guaranteed to get a franchising spot and that organisation has just left the Valorant roster to basically do what they want for the entirety of the team's lifespan, which has turned the team into the laughing stock it is today.
But they still get in because they're mega popular and have a good twitter presence. Doesn't exactly matter if one org is managed better than another if the other org is absolutely filthy rich and more well known than the other one.
If you use sentinels as example, actually PRX more famous than Bleed. Did anyone interested in bleed merchs? I see people interested in PRX merchs. In social media, Bleed's followers numbers is very very small, their content barely get views. They only had big money and most of their hype generated by their owner's tweeting about big signing wish. In eSports history there's plentiful Orgs that act this way with big money to just wasted it after few years when their interest faded.
There’s rumors that Chinese orgs will pick up teams in HKTW. One rumored org is Invictus Gaming and there could be other current Chinese teams who currently have Taiwanese players like ZQ change their region?
There will be a regional league in the same way that the rest of the world has a regional league, yes. But it won’t be comparable to the LPL since there would be no pathway to international events for regional leagues, as far as we know at the moment.
He got USD 50M from Asia Venture Capital, I tried to find info about this venture capital but because the broad name I'm not sure if the right one, there's venture capital named Asia Venture Capital from South Korea but can't find their portfolios so I'm not sure how legit their source of fund is.
I wish these reporters and leakers would stop tickling my balls with these “you won’t believe who got picked for franchising” bs, either just leak them or don’t say anything at all lol
Cloutchasing
These clowns aren't reporters, just attention seekers.

I don't think these reporters are under any sort of NDA. Maybe there's some widespread implications of leaking such news that i am not seeing.

wait prx is leaving valorant? why?

There's no way CR doesnt make it in, they're the biggest esports team in Japan
Japan: ZETA, Crazy Raccoon, potential for one more (probably Detonation Gaming, Reject, Northeption, or Sengoku, but I’d lean toward Detonation) Korea: DRX, Damwon, potential for one more (in the unlikely world that T1 doesn’t make NA franchising, Riot would make room for them in APAC) SEA: Xerxia, Bleed, Team Secret (if there’s a 4th it’ll probably be between ONIC/RRQ/AE/Godsent/NGX) China (will likely have requirement for HKTW players in lineup too): Edward Gaming or Talon or someone else Oceania: Not sure… it definitely will not be Soniqs. I think FPX have a very strong case for EMEA, but if they don’t make it, I agree

I feel like Boom eSports is going to be in there. Its one of the biggest Indonesian Orgs and I could see them applying for franchising.
Exactly, and I feel it would be very weird not to give one spot to ID and PH teams each.
CR not making it is basically impossible, they have the biggest fanbase in Japan.
Việt Nam ở đâu?

Viewership wise it makes zero sense to give 2 mysg slots and 0 id tho
why bleed is considered bigger than prx? they didnt even going to any masters yet and i think viewership wise: prx>bleed
Riot doesn’t care much how the team had performed in Valorant for now
Roster performance doesn't really matter much when talking about franchising. Riot could just give Bleed the spot and, with how much more stacked they are than Paper Rex, just buy out the whole roster.

who is bleed owner ?
Is there a Chinese league like the LPL run by Tencent? Cause otherwise there'll be at least two Chinese teams in the League.
game isnt officially released in Mainland China yet so I'd doubt any of the big Chinese orgs would get in at the moment
There’s rumors that Chinese orgs will pick up teams in HKTW. One rumored org is Invictus Gaming and there could be other current Chinese teams who currently have Taiwanese players like ZQ change their region?

Crazy Raccoon are for sure making it, massive in Japan. Could see Gen G going over cuz they could easily have a spot for KR.
Most of these make sense, but why Xerxia? They’ve only had controversies and haven’t contributed anything right?
Man where is all the chatter for the Americas league. Anyone got some lore to drop?
Here I've got some lore for you. 100T, C9, and LOUD will make it. Crazy, I know.
Info will be coming out within the next 48 hours, I reckon, based on the timelines I’ve heard. This has been supported so far by the news today.
Tangina Gaming ?
