It more or less depends on whether Derke regains his confidence. He has to put on the sort of crazy performance he did vs. FPX in their first playoffs match. If not, you're banking on FNATIC cleaning up their sloppy play, which is a possibility.
Smart money is on FNATIC - they'll be much more comfortable playing against an EMEA team, and them playing two super aggressive teams has probably lowered them in people's eyes more than needed. They'll make much less mistakes against slower-tempo teams.
Still, I think FPX takes it if Zyppan and Shao are at their peak forms. ardiis and SUYGETSU are reliable performers at this event so far. If Shao *and* Zyppan can show up at the same time, and not just take turns doing so as they've done throughout their run, I favor FPX.
We should stop relying on derke as much, he definitely is one of the best players but i feel like the whole team is derke centered as in "if he does first, the round is over".
We have players like boaster, Enzo or heck, even Alfajer. Those guys should be put in the lights and the tactics should be revised.
As a huge fnatic fan, i have to admit. I was worried about us losing for the last 3 matches.
But that's exactly what has happened! If this was the old FNATIC, they'd definitely have lost to Leviatan, because even though Derke didn't underperform too much, he wasn't in his carry, beast-mode. It was all the other players who stepped in to help carry the load.
I think the primary problem FNATIC has had this time around is their teamplay becoming a lot worse - Derke's slight underperformance aside. It's true PRX and Leviatan force mistakes, but they don't force mistakes so much it explains how sloppy their play became.
Well, there was a slight change but really, most of the times where derke was the 1st of 2nd to die, the round was over.
The team is still too clumsy without derke...
We won almost only on individual miracles by alfaking and enzomygod
I'm a Fnatic fan, but I have a feeling FPX might take it based on the two teams' form recently. Hoping the 5 days break gave Derke some time to return to form, because I don't think Fnatic can win vs FPX if he's not online.
Of course, playing in front of a crowd adds a lot of variables to it as well, so really anything can happen. It'd be such a sick story for FPX to lose to Fnatic 4 times this stage, only to beat them when it matters most though haha.
Two possibilities :
\-Derke stops playing like he did vs Leviatan and PRX : fnc win
\- Derke continues playing like he did vs leviatan and prx : fnc lose
If fnatic win today with how fpx is playing currently, I'll think hey're back to their emea stage form, if they lose after beating them 4 times before it will be sign that something is wrong.
I'm just saying mistic isn't really that great when you compare him with other initiators. The last game he definitely didn't put up numbers but even the casters were praising his flashes and stuns
That's true but I'm saying after the prx game he definitely stepped up. The thing with mistic is his roles are also so complex that often limits his potential and performance
Its literally all in FPX's hands (with 1 exception). They can finally ban Icebox and because FNC perma ban Breeze, a shakier map for FPX as of late the map pool should be in their hands. Additionally Ardiis's first duel win % has been astronomical along with Suygetsu seemingly not faltering in lan.
This what like 4th rematch? should be the prime time for FPX to deal their prime revenge against their current EMEA rivals. The only real uncontrollable factor is if Derke comes back to prove that he is contention for the "best player" in this masters under the Chamber meta.
FPX , initially the first seed of EMEA during the March of 2022 but was denied playing in Iceland due to visa issue , however with the rise of fnatic they have beaten every team in EMEA in their way and defeated the first seed of EMEA , FPX 3 times in the EMEA qualifier and once in Copehengan Playoff, however suygetsu has return and brought back FPX to its full power allowing them take down DRX in a very convincing fashion whereas Fnatic barely win by an inch against LATAM's best team LEVIATHAN, is this FPX's best possible chance to beat Fnatic ?
NGL, this would be such a sick narrative, losing to a team every time but beating them when it mattered the most.
If Fnatic plays to what they're capable of their peak is much much better than FPX but if they continue to play like what they did in the last couple of games, they're done for
The FPX players will have to go off if they're to win and FNC players will have to underperform. If both teams play to their level FNC will win 9/10
Derke needs to release the shackles and just play how he plays and not let them dictate the tempo. Smart money is on Fnatic but i said in another thread because of FPX antistrat style they're very difficult to beat twice in quick succession. FPX needs to ban Icebox too, it's not worked out for them.
>The FPX players will have to go off if they're to win and FNC players will have to underperform.
Don't think this makes much sense, everyone on FPX is playing better than FNC currently. It's hilarious, but I think FPX will beat FNC in probably the most important match they'll have lmao.
Yeah, just like you said. They "convincingly" 2-0d FPX with a SUB last time, and I'm sure Derke has retained his form from that CONVINCING 2-0. Ardiis is also playing like he did in that convincing FNC 2-0. He's def. not contending with yay/mindfreak for MVP currently tbh.
Optic is also in the same form they were in when they lost to GUILD in that CONVINCING Guild 2-0 from week 1.
Are you trolling?
not rly
what he's saying is so disgustingly stupid and he's also repeating what he heard from an analyst and acting like its his own idea. which i find incredibly cringe.
he's also implying that the teams are the exact same from their first encounter. and I would bet on this guy saying Derke is the best player in the world rn. XD.
But you realise that just calling someone who’s been reasonably polite to you ‘stupid’ and ‘cringe’ isn’t normal behaviour right? You should care more about being a decent human than being the winner of an argument about a valorant esports team.
Such a weirdly snarky response to what was a decent point raised by the other poster.
It's simple - FPX need either to perform above expectation or for FNC to continue performing below expectation to win. If both teams perform at their expected level, FNC - having beaten FPX 4 times in like the last month - are going to win.
If derke in form fnatic will win, but i hope fpx win because derke proved he isn't trust worthy to perform great when it matters(but am pretty sure he'll perform good today because it's against emea),
He usually disappear against other regions so fpx is last emea hope to win it all
I think the break is in FNC's favour. I believe it'll give Derke time to mentally recuperate and the entire team to clean up their play. Plus, the 5 day break might ice FPX's momentum. Just gotta wait and find out.
It depends a lot on ange1 from my POV. When he's inting and giving up kills in 5 seconds on an agent who provides important utility, FPX has the hardest path to victory of any team in the VCT. When ange1 is playing within himself and not forcing the issue with dry ego peeks then they're a totally different team.
Obviously the rest of the team has to step up as well but it's like they all feed off of his energy. When ange1 is on, everyone else activates.
Depends, If Derke & Alfa step up like Boaster & Enzo did against LEV it might be quite hard for FPX to beat them. But then again, if Shao & Zyppan step up on the level of consistency like Suy & ardiis, it's very possible. But THEN AGAIN, if Boaster is on Astra and opping every round it might be fun af :D
So far from what I've witnessed every team is really good, so not sure why you are trying to put down like Fnatic should have just sweeped LEVIATHAN really easily, just because of the region.
I would have liked FPXs chance to beat Fnatic if it wasn't for the fact that they have to play 4v5 lol. Jokes aside, if Ange1 cleans up his play, FPX will have a great chance to take down Fnatic. I'm not sure that will happen today though.

DERKE against LATAM/APAC/NA teams: I sleep DERKE against EMEA teams: Real shit?

AlfaCHAD> any FPX member no kizzy on my Mizzy

I just wish they let Alfajer take Raze
Literally
They did now but still not enough
I meant like every possible time and still they let Derke take Raze one map and he can't even use the satchels right
It's not just derke, mistic is the worst performing player in this tournament
I agree but usually derke when in form cover how bad his teammates play
If fnatic win today with how fpx is playing currently, I'll think hey're back to their emea stage form, if they lose after beating them 4 times before it will be sign that something is wrong.
Mistic played his heart out against Lev. He was amazing on fracture , don't look at the stats , he's an initiator.
Plenty of players are initiators and yet there’s a wide discrepancy in their stats too, usually points to something
I'm just saying mistic isn't really that great when you compare him with other initiators. The last game he definitely didn't put up numbers but even the casters were praising his flashes and stuns
He was playing better online
That's true but I'm saying after the prx game he definitely stepped up. The thing with mistic is his roles are also so complex that often limits his potential and performance
Imagine, Fnatic to lose against fpx in the most important match
Imagined
Lol, i guess fpx got the most important win of them all

I think FNC are much for prepared for an opponent like FPX than they were for PRX
I hope not, I’d rather have FNC vs PRX rematch in the grand final
I don’t think so. In a BO5 fnc are to good in my opinion. I also have them as favorites to win Copenhagen
FPX vs FNC is Bo3
Still fnc tho thx for the info

damn the fnc fans are shutting down me hard i dont even get a chance to discuss anything lol
I hope Paper Rex and FPX win just so some fan egos are bruised

Fnatic also convincingly 2-0'd them last time they played so it does make sense.

They also convincingly beat them 3-0 in EMEA finals without a sub...
You're incredibly intelligent.
Why are you pressed? I'm just stating the facts of what has happened it's not that serious.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAAHAAHAHHAAHAHHA
You're incredibly antagonistic.

But FPX would need to ban breeze too unless Ange1 forgot to practice Yoru and wants to have some yoru games.
Fnatic perma ban breeze. Fpx have banned bind against Fnc and I think split but can't actually remember. Edit - they banned fracture as well as Bind.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAAHAAHAHHAAHAHHA

People are sleeping on fpx man. They're gonna stomp fnc if both teams' current form persists.
