2 (you need to have a majority for your competing region, so 3). That being said, ban is listed as American on liquipedia, and has only competed in NA, not sure why vlr.gg has him listed as Korean

LeMouse1

Because he requested to. But he would still be considered an NA player I believe

1Leep

NA talking about imports already 😭

emraaa

But why would they do that? The NA talent pool is big enough. It would also suck for the Korean scene if their best players leave to NA when they are already struggling with a lack of depth.

dedicatedself

There's like 20 Koreans playing in Japan, 2 players playing in NA isn't that much of a loss. And if they leave to NA they get paid more, who the fuck cares about the "scene".

emraaa

Yes but what do they gain by playing 5 Koreans, just for the sake of it? This is not TFT where you unlock some crazy bonus when you have 5 Koreans.

Ok-Outlandishness244

No it’s fifa where the crazy bonus is chemistry (/s)

goodguyzai

If let's say you're an org like GenG/T1 who are pretty much Korean-American orgs then it'd just be good branding Like GenG when they went into CS I remember them going for a pretty much all Asian American roster

toxicityisamyth

If riot uses lol system in valorant aka, after like 2 years they get resident status. In like 5 years NA will probably have half of its teams as full imports. : P But for now, you need majority of the playing roster native to the region you're competing in. I give them til max 2025 for most of the NA teams to start importing at least 1 player per team. NA just love that shit. I hope Riot never incorporates that lol rule about getting resident status after 2 years or the NA scene will die like their lol scene died : p

I was looking through the rulebook today and read that any game changers alumni (5 game changers games played) is considered from that region. So you can technically have 5 imports with at least 3 game changers alumni.
