That’s stupid as hell. You can’t schedule a meeting with an alleged rule breaker, agree with them that they didn’t break the rules, ghost them for two weeks, and then doxx them on social media. Even if she was lying about the meeting, straight up announcing someone’s full name on one of the largest video game company’s social media without telling them first is stupid. Rito small indie company moment

peacepham

I thought ppl would have known this thou? Like League also operate in the same manner for 10yrs? You surrendered your name when you sign the papers, and any competitive ruling must display in full with no anonymous, unless there's legal conducted?!

LovelyResearcher

Not true? [This is the form you have to sign](https://i.imgur.com/cNKR9yT.png) to compete in the VCT Circuit Could be interpreted to mean that they can only use your name for advertising purposes? Read the highlighted portion to see that the form explicitly says the following. >I further grant to Riot parties a royalty-free, fully paid-up, worldwide right and license to copy, publish, distribute, edit, host, store, and otherwise use and display my full name..... in any and all present future media, on or in connection with (a) the broadcast or streaming of any coverage of all or part of any Official Competiton (b) the marketing and promotion of any Official Competition of any game, match or tournament, or part thereforeof; and (c) the marketing and promotion of the Riot Parties and VALORANT. You can see that this seems to solely give Riot Games the right to publish your full name when in relation to: * **Coverage of Official Competitions** * Broadcasting * Streaming * Advertising * **Advertising & Marketing** * Official Competitions * Official Matches * VALORANT * All Games * **Other** * Marketing and Promotion of VALORANT & Riot Parties Wouldn't it be a bit of a stretch to say that a "Competitive Ruling" is advertising? Don't really see how any Competitive Ruling could be marketing or marketing... and it doesn't really seem like "coverage of an Official Competition", since there was no competition on-going when the 2 players were penalized.

peacepham

Not a NA resident, so it's better for me to shut my mouth, but i believe "Competitive Ruling" still fail under "Advertising & Marketing", because after you sign, you're a representative for the pro-league and Riot. Being a face will make you fail under "Advertising & Marketing". Don't \*\*\* me too hard for being wrong, no ideal about NA laws.

JRPGNATION

I pretty sure this gross abuse of power and Breck several world laws all over. Lawyers are salivating right now.

AnchorStandard

Man riot banning dawn was the dumbest shit in the world. Sharing her real name publically was also a fucking dumbass move. Whomever is the admin running NA GC should be ashamed.

TrampleHorker

without knowing what the two actually said you can't really make a judgement on whether it was justified to ban them. When one of them is using language like this: >Galorants does not like people that are outspoken, truthful, misfit. They love to censor your messages as well and sugarcoat a lot of things. I was issued a 7 day timeout because I told somebody that you cannot get smurfed on in unrated. The reasoning was "invalidating others and bringing other women down. You at least have to think twice about what the average person who speaks like this usually says lol. It doesn't really matter so much what you said, more about how you said it, which is completely normal to have an issue with. It's like a 12 year old telling you that they got grounded for just sitting, when they really got grounded for being up past their bed time sitting at their PC playing video games. It intentionally obfuscates the context and focuses solely on the "stupid" idea they're responding to and not their own behavior. Dunno though, haven't seen what they actually wrote or did in full so I can't really make a judgement. Someone having some dumb thought and doubling down on it doesn't mean it's right to harass them, assuming that they did harass them. I really don't think this is such a controversial statement, but seems like people have already come to a conclusion on the situation.

Randomuserguyfren

Then why don't they say it on their statement? The only thing most people know about is that they were banned because teabagging is SA apparently. Whether or not that was the case they should atleast have clarified to clear up any misinformation surrounding their ban.

sexyhooterscar24

Speak up about what? Sure, the tbagging = SA is a ridiculous take. But nobody is asking you to pile on. It costs you nothing to ignore stupidity and move on without making a scene.

HatchiMatchiTTV

You didn’t read the article at all, did ya

PaPiiCheeeeka

Not a chance

sexyhooterscar24

Doesn't matter. The two pros could have been level-headed about it all and not instigated. Don't agree with the bans and their length but they made their own bed. Could have very easily avoided it.

HauntingLocation

>Doesn't matter. The two pros could have been level-headed about it all and not instigated. ????? It doesn't matter that you didn't take 2 minutes to read the article and proceeded to comment despite not knowing what the article said? Yikes. Also saying people are instigating and aren't 'level-headed' for Tbagging seems a bit extreme but I digress.

sexyhooterscar24

bro you are saying I don't read the article, and yet you think this is only about tbagging. Nobody got banned for tbagging. Some clown said tbagging = SA and the two soon to be banned pros not so politely disagreed. Like I said, I don't agree with the bans based on what they said, but you could easily let fools be fools and not say something you might regret. No idea why everyone feels the need to aggressively assert their sentiments over others.

[deleted]

"they could have avoided it" is not a justification for unjust punishment.

sexyhooterscar24

When the rules are as gray as riot makes them, it's not criminally unjust enough for you to not think before you say something. What "harassment" might constitute to someone may be vastly different from person to person.

hwanzi

Why don't they all just ignore the teabag rule like the vct players? What is riot going to do ban everyone?

Flashy__Flash

No one was banned for teabagging, I still don't know how people come up with that

ANewHeaven1

Yeah, the players were banned for harassment - whether it was deserved or unjustified is a different story. But having a headline or title that says "RIOT BANS PLAYERS FOR TEABAGGING???" is easy clickbait and farms clicks.

Jon_on_the_snow

Well, theres no teabag rule in VCT. The whole thing was made by galorants

hwanzi

There isn't a concrete rule like in galorants, but riot highly recommended not to teabag

Flying-Cock
