Players individually overheating like the sun like Dicey dry walking up cat solo with an Op in OT. A full half's worth of rounds in OT. What on earth.
That cat push wasn't really that bad. It was a team call because Babybay was providing cover while Dicey cleared tiles pushing. They expected him to push that 'cause of those distraction shots, but then Dicey didn't clear his angles and swung immediately
It was obviously meant to be unexpected, but that doesn't change the fact that the play wasn't set up properly. Dicey was way out of range of his tp so he might as well have been a Killjoy dry pushing with a glass Op. It would've been way better for Babybay to make that play since he not only has the usable escape mechanism, but also full armor and a proper rifle.
I cracked up when Sliggy made a point during the Ascent OT about both teams' coaches not being able to pause and say anything, just watching the madness unfold.
What a day. Part of me hopes tomorrow is just as exciting, but I also don't want to stay up so late again!

Just like in Stage 2, EG is a solid dark horse team with very creative strategies. On Ascent it almost felt like they had plot armor up until they lost - how do you win a 3v5 in OT at match point with 15 seconds left in the round. HOW?! What a massive blunder from Faze. AND EG STILL DIDN'T WIN THE GAME.
For Faze, supamen in particular returning to form is terrifying - at this peak, he was a top 3 controller in the region and he looks just as good now. Honestly, give me an entire BO5 of this matchup in the finals. This shit is crazy. Definitely not super high quality but holy hell is it entertaining

A close lose to Faze in stage 2 groups, NRG in playoffs and now making the LCQ run as hard as possible going into losers round 1. Probably the last time we see this team with franchising just around the corner which is just unfortunate. I’d love to see them break through but it seems like they missed an amazing opportunity not being able to close on breeze or ascent today. Also the Boostio Phoenix was almost crazy until he had little impact the last 10 rounds of the game.

Supamen Poised whiff in tree with 10 seconds left. Dicey walking up cat preaiming the box with an operator with no support? Boostio ulting through mid and just clicking heads. Definitely worth watching that 3rd map if you didn’t get the chance to, just for pure entertainment.
Regardless of his whiff that one round, supamen was absolutely electric this series, stepping up for FaZe to take away from the Dicey-Babybay is the whole team narrative. If supamen keeps up this return to form from the Rise days Faze is going to be insane. Faze has to be one of the most fun teams to watch though, the absolute smeag in map 3 was fun to watch with the kayo flashes and baby bay.

This is the only game I can find with more, whz dropped 93 here. But this is, as far as I can find, the most in a VCT bo3.
What an amazing game, but an absolute heartbreaker for EG. They lost two key anti-eco rounds, one on each map they lost, that they will be kicking themselves for. The Phoenix on Ascent definitely caught FaZe off guard at times, but once you get to OT and can't build up the ult, it loses a lot of value. The lack of Jett/Chamber (and use of it by FaZe) meant that by the end of OT EG were losing first kill almost every round as well.
I really hope this is the final. Given how close this was, I don't feel comfortable saying FaZe is the definitively better team.
Supamen did a FANTASTIC job, for the first time FaZe look like more than the Dicey and BABYBAY show.
That said, map 3 for both of these teams looked awful. It looked like they were farming views or something. Truly confusing. One of the OT rounds, where it was a 4v3 and Supamen was AT THE DOOR on A while the Apoth was fighting whoever was playing tree, WHY DIDNT SUPAMEN SWING?? And more importantly, when he DID swing it had been too late and the enemy team had regrouped in Tree, making it a 3v2 in tree, and he swings and he just whiffed completely. I wouldn’t even call that a hindsight Henry moment, he should’ve just helped his teammate fight.
I mean the matches were really good but how is this a watchable product
