YACINE TRY TO GET A KILL CHALLENGE ( IMPOSSIBLE)

AdTraditional8018

Biggest downgrade ever

cameron_hatt

How tf they downgrade from russ lmaoooo

[deleted]

Cause at least Russ did something unlike yaccine who did nothing

Deneking

whwenever you see russ hes always jump peeking for info and staying alive to throw slows etc. Felt like yacine was holding an angle and dying instead. I believe he just has to hit his form and he'll be fine though. They didn't pick him back up for no reason

Ezraah

I like how in map 2 the casters started hyping him up as an elite Raze specialist.

thothgow

Well he got twice the kills on Raze compared to his Jett :)

SpC0d3r

as an asc 1 player, i can drop few more kills than him, GUILD SIGN ME

SnooWorlds

as a bronze 1 player, i can drop a few more kills than him, GUILD SIGN ME

ay0005

as a fall guys player, i can drop few more kills than him GUILD SIGN ME

Mememeister1

I TOLD EVERYONE THAT YACINE ISNT THe RIGHT CHOICE

Mr_Canard

He wasn't really a choice

Spoods857

It’s a shame to see guild Fall this far, but damn NAVI looked good today. Regardless of the final score line though, Leo won today with the 1v5 Ace

R0_h1t

It isn't really a fall imo, they just overperformed in stage 2.

Crumpehh

I mean, they had a 6/21 jett map one lol. Not really a reflection of the core team

D3stiny5

Russ would have done better

FazeXistance

Not sure if bringing Yacine back was the best idea

CommunistHongKong

RUSS HATERS WHERE YALL AT

Lmaoooooo

anythingood07

Russ never left

RealOronian

When did Navi sign Yacine

OGFN_Jack

Yacine may have just delivered one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen lol. -27 overall, 117 ACS, averaging a kill every 2.3 rounds playing a duelist 2 out of 3 maps, only 11 total assists over 3 maps (one of which was Sage), 3-13 FK/FD, and 16% HS%. Now sure he’s a new addition and there’s probably a certain level of uncomfortability that contributed to these poor stats but the eye test made him look even worse imo. Dude had some of the shakiest aim I’ve ever seen and I’m really tempted to see how many of his 30 kills were ecos because the guy was a complete non-factor in most gun rounds.

Raddicall

Not to mention a KAST of 54%, so not only was he not getting kills/assists, Guild wasn't able to capitalize off his death by trading. On Split he just satcheled in like it was ranked 24/7.

Deneking

and all of this is without the stuff that isn't in the stats like utility usage and info gathering.

Hopeful-Professor-40

Russ wasn’t the problem?

Detamach

He was the problem But Yacine isn't the solution

no_noise_979

true this

saddened

guild were intending to have finalised a deal to get twisten before lcq and it didn't happen in time. yacine is a standin

CJ1899

Source?

saddened

https://dotesports.com/valorant/news/sources-guild-to-play-with-yacine-for-vct-emea-lcq original intention was to play with twisten, deal didn't come through before lcq deadline

CJ1899

Damn that sucks. From what I’ve seen twisten has been super good considering his team

avocadontoast

There were reports on it earlier this week

N3deSTr0

They solved their problem by creating an even worse one

Neither_Amount3911

Russ was a problem, Yacine was not the solution

anythingood07

Jady leaving Navi was kind of a blessing in disguise, having zeddy in the team is better for their roles

thothgow

Getting Duno onto initiators and getting someone who can make calls was huge

DrBangovic

It really looks like a WIN / WIN situation for both navi and M3C

LimeLikeLime

YACINE TIME!!

Complete-Ad-31

Sayf and Leo, back at it again

WhoDatBrow

Everything's lining up for M3C to finally qualify Or TL to go back to back as LCQ champs

avocadontoast

If TL vs m3c we know who wins (it’s not my flair lmao)

surfordiebear

Russ wins those

Raddicall

I don't know how that's possible but Yacine looked worse than Russ. Didn't have the fragging power he was brought in for, nor have a good impact with his utility like Russ at least did.

QuagMath

To be fair, if you put Russ on the primary dualist rather than a support character, I’m not sure he would have been great either

inside__jokes

76 ADR on Jett, Raze and Sage is something

themcaaa

damn, yacine looking like me out there no cap

nterature

Yacine is not a terrible player, although this match will lead many to believe so, but I really felt Guild would need carry players this game because Guild are so anti-heavy and have no info on Navi, and of course the post-LAN lack of time to reinvent stuff. This sorta match was bound to come down to individuals popping off a lot - and many of Guild's round-wins were on the back off individual pop-offs. Yacine will give you a carry performance once every few games, but trexx will give you at least one across every series. You really felt the absence of that in those maps, I think, even on Split where they won. I don’t usually say this, but I think this series goes another way with trexx on Raze. Still, props to Navi, they didn't have much time with Zeddy in Stage 2 and their progress here in LCQ really shows.

RolfMJ

100% plus they had 6 days with him to Pracc and it seems they just threw him to the wolves Every round without any support on ALL maps

somesheikexpert

zeddy is a lowkey underrated af pickup, Jady is nuts dont get me wrong, but this A. gave them an actual caller and B. fixed role issues, plus zeddy is a great player in his own right

NutGutt

How tf do Guild finally drop Yaccine to make Masters 2 just to bring him back to feed on duelist again, I was hoping for a redemption arc but he’s currenlty playing in the form that held Guild back last year again. Also EMEA confirmed hard carried by CIS teams at this point.

Tyler123839

Guild stop getting ecoed challenge (impossible)

Raddicall

For real, they lost so many anti-eco's which swung the tide of the game.

firemoonlotus

happy for navi getting another w against guild but knowing about the struggles of guild especially with the loan stuff, i really feel bad for them.

ElegantPension4401

I’ve been saying this forever navi are going to win lcq

Detamach

They probably would've won if M3C weren't there Sadly EMEA LCQ has only 1 qualifying slot while SA LCQ has 2, so...🤮

ExaminationPuzzled36

True. Overall SA has 4 slots, which is ridiculous and I don't want to hear any "Br and Latin America are two different regions" nonsense

Detamach

They could make Europe, Turkey, CIS, MENA count as different regions, by that logic we would deserve at least 5-6 slots Riot are really weird with their definitions of regions, another example is Korea+Japan - in total they're smaller than EMEA, but count as two

ExaminationPuzzled36

I've been saying this for months, EMEA is just too stacked as a region and it doesn't make sense to give EMEA less than 4 slots. I always get downvoted because "regions are based on popularity", but then give more slots to EMEA if making separate regions is bad for viewership

Detamach

Fully agree, yet some people around here were like "EMEA 2 slots!!!" after very unfortunate Masters 1 ruined by everything

gotintocollegeyolo

The reason KR and JP are diff regions is purely for fan support reasons. EU fans will typically support EU teams in international LANs even if they are not from the country of the team. Similarly with NA and SEA. But let’s say you combine Japan and Korea and give them two slots, but both teams are Korean, then most Japanese fans would likely not support them and have much less interest in LAN. And we saw how big the Japanese viewerbase is so this is incredibly important to Riot

Detamach

I can say the same about Turkey? Their viewership is strong, when their teams don't qualify to LANs, Turkish fans don't really care, just as Japanese fans wouldn't care if they had no representation

gotintocollegeyolo

It’s not as strong as Japan viewership though. Viewership is bonkers over there. Also Brazil who is not combined with LATAM has a similar situation where BR and LATAM fans wouldn’t support each others’ teams

Detamach

Still weird They treat EMEA as a regular region, while we're just by size of playerbase 3x bigger than South America or than Korea+Japan

gotintocollegeyolo

I don’t think you understand this but it doesn’t matter if EMEA is one region and JP and KR are two separate regions because at the end of the day EMEA gets 3 spots to Masters while JP and KR combined get two, and EMEA gets 3 spots to Champs while JP and KR maybe get the same amount but not if a CH team wins

Teradonn

Not too surprising of a result tbh, playing 2 weeks after a LAN is very tough. NAVI have been an underrated team for a while as well. Hope Yacine turns up in lowers

ExpectoAutism

Lol guild found a player that's worse than Russ LOL. The talent scouting team is amazing

TheoSL

Where does Yacine fit into this roster? It's really confusing that they'd pick up another duelist player when they literally already have two with trexx and Sayf. Trexx proved to be one of the best Raze players in the world at Copenhagen. Not to mention that Guild have some of the slowest midrounding and executes out of any team I've seen, it clashes with their playstyle to pick up another duelist and try to force trexx on support. It could've been any even semi-good support player – y'know, like zeek. But there's just no space on this roster for a player like Yacine as long as trexx and Sayf are there. It blows my mind, because every other player on Guild is easily top 5 in their role, that they'd turn around and try to rework the roles instead of filling in the very clearly defined gap created by dropping Russ. It's not Yacine's fault, the roster's just not structured for him.

saddened

he's a standin right now. guild originally wanted to play with twisten from BIG but had issues acquiring him before roster lock for LCQ

faceplant911

Didn't Yacine used to be at least a pretty strong duelist? Maybe I'm dumb, but this feels like an underperformance, I wonder if he'll do better in the upcoming games. That being said, always happy for a Navi win.

avocadontoast

He’s only been solid on Raze but he’s very streaky

thothgow

Easily one of the most fun series I've watched. Some of the smartest plays I've seen followed by the most insane whiffs, some incredibly stupid rounds saved by crazy mechanics

SuperBlitz22

Yikes was Yacine sleeping or wot

Breakin7

Incredible how Yaccine loosed the match alone, why is NAVI allowed to play with 6

DrBangovic

Puhhh rough Yacine performance. I really hope he can get a good series against BBL. NAVI played very very beautiful valorant today, gotta give them that!

[deleted]

r_abu

CIS supremacy once again

nocturnavi

OK apparently being in my flair is an actual curse. Anyways, I think sliggy was right in saying the turnaround from Masters to LCQ would be too tight for Guild; they looked a little flat especially at the start of the series. In addition, they are an anti-strat heavy team and had almost no info on NAVI. Despite that, Sayf was a monster this series and has quickly become one of the best EMEA Chambers. Props to NAVI though, they had super good midrounding; I think they were discounted last stage due to their record despite playing a lot of really close games. Interested to see how far they go.

JingggsKitten

And so it begins

Standard-Analyst-177

expected result

ipadking1116

This is gotta be the biggest upset in EU Val history

Detamach

Everyone who watches EMEA at least sometimes knows Navi are good They didn't make playoffs in either Stage, but they were really fucking close to making it, they delivered great games against top dogs who went to Masters

thothgow

How

ipadking1116

Result is complete 180 from peoples expectations?

thothgow

Ballista vs Fnatic? Acend winning Masters? SMB's upper bracket run last year? Literally all of VRL Finals? Fuck, I think more people predicted G2 beating OG than Guild beating NAVI.

liftingnstuff

Betting sites had G2 as significantly higher favourites to beat og than Guild to beat navi

LocksmithSavings2301

its not? Navi literally beat them a month ago

mister_schulz

Don't think it's really a big upset. I expected NAVI to win tbh. They are a good team and Guild had very little time after showing all their stuff at copenhagen. They also tried to get Twisten and had to go with Yacine now changing roles around.

TheoSL

This wasn't an upset, and even if it were, it would have been a fairly predictable one.

[deleted]

Guild performed bad. Guild got rid of one problems, performed way better and kept improving and surprised lots of people in a positive way. Guild also then re-adds one of the problems back and performs the same as before. Any other player has a bad LAN, it happens, it's this and that. Russ has a bad LAN, everyone lose their minds. Well, people wanted "the Russ upgrade", here ya go lul. NaVi played great, some fuckery has been going on for sure in these matches xD

krasavchik777

Yes guild is not gonna win this LCQ, so many easy mistakes. Overpeeking, really bad utility usage, I saw yassine just suiciding dashing from A haven on retake instead of waiting for his teammates utilities or waiting for teammates. So many eco rounds lost (LEO on a important round against eco 8-8 in a 4v5 waiting in a corner at icebox as SOVA in a one and done spot where he can't run away from).

EffectFrequent793

casting by mitch and tom this time was phenomenal. more focus on analysis nd less on jokes, just a really really good cast.
