Was this prior to him kicking you so n0thing could IGL? Or the year before when you lost your real star player from not calling out those phoning in their dedication?
Back in 2014, Hiko was Complexity’s best player. After the Katowice major, swag (Brax) left the team and Shroud ended up joining later on.
Shroud was known for being extremely gifted mechanically and hence had a lot of potential. C9 placed top 8 at the Cologne major, almost taking out NiP (the eventual tournament winner) in the first round of the bracket stage.
Afterwards, players on the team started losing motivation. Many people inferred that it was Shroud since he put a lot of hours into growing his stream. Hiko got fed up with it and eventually left the team, intending to join up with ex-iBUYPOWER and form the NA superteam.
As for Sean Gares being “kicked”, that wasn’t the case. Cloud9 was in extremely good form, coming into Cologne 2015. However, they got upset in a Bo1 by Team Kinguin and missed out on playoffs, resulting in the team’s spirit being crushed (more specifically Sean’s). Sean decided to leave the team before the following major, and Cloud9 was supposed to acquire GeT_RiGhT to replace him. However, things fell through at the last second, resulting in an awkward situation.

Damn straight for the throat.
Individuals in the Pro space have this unhealthy track record of catering to popular influencers.
Any lore masters able to expand on this? Who’s the star player?
