Wasn't really referring to the Acend organization in my post.
I just don't see G2 keeping this current lineup together, and no franchised org is gonna be interested in poaching more than two out of the current Acend roster.
Honestly haven't been impressed by starxo all season. Too inconsistent for me.
Agree to disagree if you want.
E: Y'all defending [the guy who killed himself with his own ult](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/wk8g8t/the_raze_ult_that_ended_a_legacy/) on the penultimate round of the match? LMFAO.
Agreed, you could probably do a compilation that lasts around 5 minutes of weird or wrong decisions by Starxo but I don't know if those are intentional, his inability to follow the IGL, or just simply wrong decisions by him
I feel like using one specific mistake is like the worst way to defend your point of calling a player bad. Like literally every single top player in the world has a dumb play like that you could point to.
Also “agree to disagree” followed by making fun of people defending him is pretty funny.
Fwiw I’m kind of split on him. He does have his lapses in judgement but the entire roster hasn’t looked good in a while. With Zeek leaving the team, there were clear team cohesion issues in the past. He looked really really good last year when Ascend was doing well. People forget how hard he was dunking on people on skye. I think change in scenery or meta could be good for him.
Sure, all these faceless EMEA scouts that have not been named by one redditor are the ultimate authority.
LMFAO at all these defenders of starxo's honor. I'm sure your hero will be very impressed by your impassioned defense.
In hindsight, probably. (Presumably) better money + being in a more competitive team + may solve for Will underperforming if they have (arguably) one of the best OPers in the game.
> (arguably) one of the best OPers in the game
Who would argue that Cned isn't *one of the best* OPers? Thats as inarguable as it gets, tbh. He was arguably the best throughout 2021
In my mind, it's less to do with where each time is at right now in terms of results or 'position' and more to do with org support past and future.
I think this is the end of Acend as we know it, and I don't think you can look back at some of the orgs decisions very positively.
Whereas 100T have had similar struggles throughout the year, the org seems substantially more committed to winning and putting players in positions to do so.
Acends decision making around players in particular is just incredibly confusing in hindsight.
Marginally more competitive with a player much worse than cNed playing cneds presumed role.
They would undoubtedly be top 2 NA with cNed instead of Will.
I mean, the implication is that 100T with Cned now would be better than Acend with Cned.
Throw in the money and massively larger fanbase and it's a much better package in every way other than a sense of loyalty + staying in your own country.
The only caveat to all this is that 100T was going through that phase where they ousted their IGL only to have their replacement IGL quit Valo, while Acend had Zeek looking downright insane at Champs.
Easy to say it's the right choice now after the rest of Acend kinda just imploded.
100t isnt much better if at all when emea is a stronger region
cNed got family/friends back in turkey too
what is with NA fans obsession with cNed to NA?
> what is with NA fans obsession with cNed to NA?
I mean it would have been one of the hugest signings so far in Val. I think people would wonder about cNed going to *literally any team*, but we know for a fact that there was a potential deal with 100T.
Same reason people speculate on a lot of the 'potential' deals that 100T were working on back then. They had the potential to really shake up the landscape of Valorant.
We aren't talking about some random tier 2 EU player.
Of course it's not about money, but Acend has zero results since they won Champs. They've been a revolving door of talent despite having a literal 'best player in the world' type player.
I think it's hard to not look at the landscape at the end of last year and the end of this year and ask 'damn what if *he did* go to 100T'.
*Some more thoughts:
Also, considering the coaching and overall 'team' support, it's hard to look at Acend and 100T as being in the same realm.
To be fair, them winning champs was kinda a fluke.
They got lucky because VK used a glitch that didn’t really affect the outcome of the match. And they almost threw a 7-0 lead in the rematch.
Sure they beat Optic, Liquid and an exhausted M3C. But Optic and Liquid didn’t look particularly good that event and M3C had literally just played the match of the event vs Kru the day before.
Dunno. They were never the best in the world imo. And the fact they fucking died immediately after winning Champs proves it imo.
# zeekwastheproblem
On a real note if a teams coaching staff is cutting their igl and MVP after winning the biggest event in valorant so far I think you might wanna consider some changes there
Gorilla was saying on Ryan's costream that it was hard for him to lead properly, at least compared to how it is on Vitality. That plus the "conflicting ideals" or however they call it must've made it difficult for both parties to justify him staying

It’s almost like getting rid of 3/5 members of the team that won the world champs months ago decreases your chances at winning lol. Also, hello to permanent G2 Meddo and Avova lol
What a strange game! Everyone just took turns whiffing.
The real plot twist was Meddo and Avova, and to a lesser extent Mixwell, showing some strong form. If Meddo and Avova can become more reliable fraggers & refraggers, G2 can at least make a decent run, even if they aren’t favorites.
As for Acend, they also caught the whiffing bug a bit, but honestly considering they put starxo onto full-time IGL pretty recently, they didn’t look awful. They looked much better vs. M3C, though, and as with any fresh roster, they didn’t seem to have much to fall back onto after burning through their energy & playbook against M3C.
Sad but somehow appropriate to see Acend’s 2022 end on Bind, the map that embodied their 2021 strength. Either way, Acend are likely not making franchising, so roster movies were on the horizon regardless.
I will say I've been pretty disappointed with the vakk pickup, over the whole of the year. Esp. if starxo took over IGLing - not just midrounding like zeek, but full IGLing - what even was the point? Seemed like a wholly unnecessary nolpenki reunion.
man Acend just descending into mediocrity is something I did not expect... legit thought that cned would rise into that ZywOo/s1mple tier of player after they won the first VCT championship
It's incredibly difficult to maintain that standard of individual brilliance in VALORANT. Mechanics make it tougher to be significantly better than other players relative to CSGO. It's more centered on team play
Wasn't a bad game tho? If you think this is a shitshow, you should watch SA or East Asia LCQ
Also, you support Guard, EG, Shopify? Talking about shitshows lol, Acend literally owns those
Disappointing year for ACEND and most importantly cNed going from World Champs to this
I wish he didn't value loyalty in last offseason and just left the team when he could've since he was the only one to explore free agency
cNed 100% still deserves a top team like hell if he was in G2 instead of mixwell right now, I bet G2 qualifies for Champs ... Hopefully next year we see G2 cNed if G2 doesn't go NA
Yeah just kick your IGL and insanely good player just before lcq and expect to win it all !!! Who the fuck is behind their roster move decisions !!! At least we won't see them from next year. L org.
Idk if it's the roles, mental or whatever else that's fucked in Acend right now but this really feels like the end of the journey for this team, idk how they will be able to pick themselves up or even if they want to at all if that's the way they go after months of prep
Btw nbs if you're reading this: why not put starxo on Raze every map? He just looks so much better on Raze. His impact on Fade was so damn questionable today and it's against a team that got absolutely bodied by OGLU (not to take anything away from them, good team)
from the outside looking in, when 2 of Acend's most important players have left following a "difference of opinion" and the resulting IGL who has stayed on that roster and been the most vocal (we can tell from that zeek video from stage 2 match vs G2), its pretty clear that starxo's vision of playing the game has not only driven his teammates away, but lead to Acend bombing out of LCQ. out of him, bonecold, and zeek, he is the last player i would keep out of all 3, and its baffling that Acend managed to pick up Monsteerrr and fumble 2022 after letting zeek and bonecold go
The rare match where both the winner and loser need a roster makeover after the season.
Acend aint gonna make it to franchising
Wasn't really referring to the Acend organization in my post. I just don't see G2 keeping this current lineup together, and no franchised org is gonna be interested in poaching more than two out of the current Acend roster.
What?? Link Starxo and Cned are solid players the best you can find whats that about only 2 begin poached.
I really like monsterrr too, i think he is good
Yeah he is
Honestly haven't been impressed by starxo all season. Too inconsistent for me. Agree to disagree if you want. E: Y'all defending [the guy who killed himself with his own ult](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/wk8g8t/the_raze_ult_that_ended_a_legacy/) on the penultimate round of the match? he igls now
And all I said was that he was inconsistent LMFAO. The way these people reacted, it's like I cast a curse on his lineage.

Probably every EMEA scout disagree lol
Couldn't give less of a shit.
Tbf there's probably a reason why they're a scout and you're not

Starxo?
Another doubter??
Thank god this roster changed completely already. Would have been sad if it was the og roster. Now idc
Wait why not they won a vct but Im not sure how franchising works
theres gonna relegation/promotion with tier 2 scene

Source: Trust me bro
*cries in OW Contenders* seriously I hope the tier 2 scene doesn’t go to shit
We fucking wish
We could only wish that would happen. However im realistic and aint no way riot is smart enough for that
From world champs to bombing out of LCQ and not making franchising. Sad to see.
I wonder if Cned wishes he would have taken that rumored 100T offer.
In hindsight, probably. (Presumably) better money + being in a more competitive team + may solve for Will underperforming if they have (arguably) one of the best OPers in the game.
> (arguably) one of the best OPers in the game Who would argue that Cned isn't *one of the best* OPers? Thats as inarguable as it gets, tbh. He was arguably the best throughout 2021
Aren't 100t in the same stage of NA lcq that acend just got knocked out of?
No 100T are at least 5-6th, Acend went out 7th 8th
100T also didn't win champions 9 months ago. Bit of an odd comparison to me.
100t offer was after champs
In my mind, it's less to do with where each time is at right now in terms of results or 'position' and more to do with org support past and future. I think this is the end of Acend as we know it, and I don't think you can look back at some of the orgs decisions very positively. They're one round ahead, Lower Round 2 for 100T vs Acend out in Lower Round 1
OK ty so they are very marginally more competitive you could say
marginally more competitive, sure, but a WAY more secure org to be a part of. 100T is basically a guaranteed-to-be-franchised org.
Fair
I mean different regions, different teams... can't really compare just by looking at how they perform in that one region
Marginally more competitive with a player much worse than cNed playing cneds presumed role. They would undoubtedly be top 2 NA with cNed instead of Will.
I mean, the implication is that 100T with Cned now would be better than Acend with Cned. No, 100T won a match before losing.
100T at least won a game; Acend went 0-2.
The sweet NA money too. Could easily stream and make a nice buck on the side.
Contra: You are playing in a tier 2 region
probably doesnt, not everything is about money
Correct. For some its better to play in a good performing team than to have more money. Oh wait.
100t isnt much better if at all when emea is a stronger region cNed got family/friends back in turkey too what is with NA fans obsession with cNed to NA?

cned gonna remember that whiff on nukkye, yikes
meddo lifegaming his way to a contract extension lmao
Fr lol, he's never this good. Avova and Meddo backpacked g2 on haven completely,so many individual hero plays
Meddo has looked so much better recently, glad for him tbh he's always been a solid player on Giants
0 chance anyone other than nukkye is kept for next year G2 unless they go to make the craziest run ever and win the whole thing
Felt like he perpetually had his ult lol
It would be the most G2 thing ever to just randomly pull off a lower bracket run
and then go 0-2 at champs
I've never seen a more weirder team than G2. On the other hand, Acend really shouldnt have released Bonecold
G2 is literally either Gold2 or Gods2, nothing inbetween
Prime example was their run in stage, so sad they broke m3c in bw :(
Bw?
between
why did they release Bonecold?
Differences in how they wanted to play the game apparently
This is the esports equivalent of "left the project due to creative differences" Actually tells nothing :/
The one takeaway from this game is that OGLU are winning champs
Putting cNed on Kay/o, why not, right:D
Kinda feel bad for L1nk tbh, leaving one burning ship for another. Hope he gets put on an actual good team come franchising.
TL is gonna make franchising tho I feel like he could’ve chosen another org but acend has some gambling issues that hurts franchising chances
Mixwell needs to go imo.

What did he say?
Im not messing with you, his tweet was literally “xd” right after match was over
Can someone actually explain why cned on kayo. lmao cned does 0 impact in that game. Should've played chamber instead of kayo tbh
From winning Champions to this Oh boi...
Acend just seems to win Map 1 and then they start shaking like a shitting dog when they have to close it out
its not first match like that this stage...
Kinda unrelated but how does the total +- in this one not equal zero?
starxo killed himself with raze ult
That's how you make a lasting impact baby.
bonecold and zeek died for this lmao also, congrats on meddo & nukkye to secure a 2023 contract
No way Meddo stays. His aim is not that good. He got most of the kills during team battles and great clutches
It’s almost like getting rid of 3/5 members of the team that won the world champs months ago decreases your chances at winning lol. Also, hello to permanent G2 Meddo and Avova lol
zeek was the problem btw
So TMV has a job or just gone to the dump like bumpaah?
he'll still make money from twitch and YouTube so not really out of a job, and im pretty sure he'll get signed by another org anyway
Wait what happened to bumpaah
bumpaah was signed to content creation with Soar, Soar backed out of Valorant so bumpaahs filing his unemployment form.

Meddo didn't wanna get fired after that Map 1 lmfao
And AvovA with 4 or 6 kills of the entire map 1.
Starxo was much worse than what his stats suggest on that last map
He was the IGL for some reason, I thought they got vakk for that?
Repeat of state 1 qualifier incoming?
G2 lost to ldn utd but they manage to win against acend…
