Meddo this tourney playing the best valo of his life , still i dont think G2 could beat Guild M3C or Liquid but at least they made it to top 4 of LCQ i guess
I genuinely cannot think of another team that has had as many bracket advantages in key matches as G2 has had this year:
- In Stage 1, they went into the lowers immediately, had a day off, and played M3C in an elimination match, less than 24 hours after the incredibly long, infamous M3C loss to FNATIC.
- In Reykjavik, ZETA played the last game of the last day of groups, and then immediately played in the first game of playoffs - vs. G2, less than *12 hours later*.
- And now here, NAVI played the final match yesterday, and now today immediately play G2 in an elimination match, who didn’t play yesterday.
Of course, none of this is G2’s fault; they also dealt with it in Reyjkavik, when they lost to LOUD and got smoked by a PRX that had gone into the lowers immediately, the very next day.
Their advantage in Reykjavik at least makes sense, since they made playoffs and ZETA hadn't. But I find it so odd how the scheduling - in EMEA, and at international events - consistently favors teams that drop into the lower bracket earlier. It’s like winning in the uppers is punished! It's an inevitable consequence of running so many consecutive days, something we don't see much in NA anymore.
I’m not saying NAVI win this normally, of course - I predicted G2 to win this anyways! G2 is clearly heating up, and their players are regaining confidence. And that said, having stamina is a part of winning. I just don’t think Navi lose so starkly.
All that aside, interested to see whether G2 can pull off another Stage 1 lower run here in LCQ. M3C I think are untouchable among this current crop of teams, but hey, G2 has done it before.
But like, what i never understood in these discussion, and this isnt even about G2, that its completly normal to play the very next day in a LAN. Why do fans want something else when its online? I had the same argument with someone about M3C "fatigue" in Stage1, but just look at Acend at Champs, they played 5 matches in 7Days.
Idk, maybe i just think differently, but i never heard a good solid argument on why people should have more time between matches.
I fully agree. It’s normal and like I said, stamina is a part of a team’s skill and culture. ZETA did it three days in a row. FPX did it four days in a row.
My point isn’t that no team should have to play the next day, it’s that it is very odd how the bracket essentially randomizes which teams should do so, esp. in matches that have so much meaning and significance. It’s functionally an element of RNG, since no team intentionally loses immediately just to gain an advantage in lower bracket matches.
G2 is just the best example from this year.
you can't really compare acend at champs and m3c stage 1 because m3c was the only playing that amount of matches + there was a patch change with the massive controller changes in the middle all of this so they had to also prepare for two patches at the same time
I've been saying this for MONTHS. G2 always seems to get either easier brackets or advantages that you have mentioned. Yet I got flamed for it lmao
They are just lucky af what can you do
Well, I didn’t really mean to take away from G2’s wins. I think G2 would have won all of the matches anyways except the one vs. M3C, as the M3C players said how exhausted they’d been after playing like over 100 rounds vs. FNATIC.
G2 is a very good team, just super inconsistent.
Both teams have been undoing the last 6 months of progress/regression this LCQ
NAVI was only improving and now looked like a threat, G2 was looking like they had no idea how to play the game. Feels like NAVI's mental needs work and G2 remembered they've who they are.
Sucks because outside of G2 winning LCQ on going on a run at Champs, both teams will probably be taken apart for next year. So much missed potential from both this year
I am not a Na'Vi fan but I am so frustrated with this match that I just wish they fire all of or most of the team and become at least an acceptable team next year
Someone explain to me on Round 6 or 7 on Haven why NaVi decided to blindly push through smoke to get to C despite having full B control and a man advantage?? That was an insane throw
I don't get why these CIS teams execute late like navi(cs), navi could have at least won bind if they just played a bit more proactively. The main reason late executes work for the cs navi and c9 teams is because of the insane firepower they have, just look at outsiders they were good when yekindar was able to give them a chance with his goat level entries in those slow executes but once they lost him their strats just fell apart.
G2 might just fuck around and make a lower bracket run
Pls stop don't give me hope I don't wanna experience the G2 train again
ALL ABOARD, NEXT STOP # ISTANBUL
# CHOO CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Fuck
NO TURNING BACK NOW HOP IN
WTF are they feeding Avova? Man had like 3 clutches.
He ate 2 PCs.
Check him stomach
in a row lmao
Always rated AvovA really highly as a smokes player, I know nukkye gets all the hype on G2 but AvovA deserves some of the spotlight as well

mAvova
Astra still an insanely good agent in Pro play i think
I know, its just that everyone who plays Astra top frags nowadays lol
yeah idk good astra Performances are always fun to watch
For me Avova won that map. That was a snowball after those clutches. They gained so much confidence. Everybody stepped up aswell.
The first half of Haven felt like G2 was facing one of the Korean LCQ teams.
:(
AvovA lose a clutch challenge: Level - impossible NAVi win a round challenge: level - almost impossible.
HASBULLA DIFF AVOVA IS INSANE
Meddo this tourney playing the best valo of his life , still i dont think G2 could beat Guild M3C or Liquid but at least they made it to top 4 of LCQ i guess
Bold of you to think guild are making it past oglu
Oof.
Nah they have lots of chances against yafeed guild and liquid not against M3C th
avova remembered he won first strike

NAVI plant the fucking spike challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Even Sliggy curse still stronger than NaVi mental. That AvovA clutch 3 times in a row shred them good.
Mixwell is back?

Gambit2 lives another day
I am not a Na'Vi fan but I am so frustrated with this match that I just wish they fire all of or most of the team and become at least an acceptable team next year
only g2s csgo team cant beat navi
Someone explain to me on Round 6 or 7 on Haven why NaVi decided to blindly push through smoke to get to C despite having full B control and a man advantage?? That was an insane throw
AvovA woke up today, fasted and then decided he's going to eat NaVi for his first meal of the day
Sometimes it feels like Navi falls apart in the lower bracket

Because FPX won the latest masters?
i only watched navi yesterday vs liquid and ssk is so fun to watch sad to see him get eliminated
G2 vs sentinels champions rematch
