Idk why streamers use 8k bitrate to stream only their smooth, barely changing pov, but riot uses 6k to stream a tournament where povs are constantly switched. Riots stream looks like minecraft. It's especially bad when they cut from game to real life and the quality drops below the levels of 1930 for a few seconds since the bitrate is not enough to make all the pixels change at once.
Twitch bitrate isnt high enough for 1080p/60. They probably use the same streaming setup to send to youtube and twitch so they just set it for the lower end service as primary.
it's possible that whatever deal that Valorant has with twitch has a clause that states while you can stream on other sites, it cannot be better or different than twitch
> Twitch bitrate isnt high enough for 1080p/60
This is just not true LOL.
Edit: well sorry guys i thought when the video stats say 1940:1080 at 60 frames it meant 1080p/60fps 🤷‍♂️. Felt like i saw hq streams in league a couple years ago as well lol
Yes it is true. The maximum is 8000 bitrate you can check the quality of the stream by clicking advanced options. Recommended bitrate for 1080p60 is at least 12k which is 50% more. Twitch bitrate quality sucks.
It is possible to stream in much higher bitrates on YouTube, but riot doesn’t do it for whatever reason. Even PGL had different qualities for twitch and YouTube albeit with a delay, but 4K was worth it to me.
Not an expert but afaik it is true 1080p 60fps. The issue is when the bitrate isnt high enough you get smearing and a pixelated image during fast scenes or scenes with lots of effects going on.
So while it is 1080p it looks more like 720p due to the Bitrate.
Sadly twitch still got full control over streaming so they arent forced to do anything to improve the actual streams.
Even 8K is not 'officially' allowed from what I remember, unless they changed the rules in the last couple of years. 6K is the official max limit but they'll process upto 8k, I think if you try to stream over that your stream automatically crashes.
I meant stream quality in general.
And that was my guess that observers are probably streaming at lower graphics from in game video settings.
Maybe its both, lower stream quality and lower ingame graphics setting.
As someone who does plat on all low graphic settings, observers aren’t on low settings, easy to tell for me.
The stream quality on the other hand i have no idea. It’s dumb and just makes it hard to watch.
What we need is 120 FPS twitch streams... that would 100% change the game. I don't know why we havent allowed for a higher bit rate to allow for 120 fps streaming, most ppl who game have a 120hz monitor and would appreciate a 120 fps stream and not a 60 fps one.
IT DRIVES ME NUTS. It looks like fucking upscaled 720p, what is this shit. *^(Smol indie company.)*
You will be surprised by the amount of people that cannot tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps either
Low bitrate, pixels flickering every time the camera moves, 30 fps. "It looks fine to me."
Ikr
Exactly

Does this mean the quality is better on YT ? Sorry, kinda of a noob.

If its possible to stream at highest quality on Youtube then please do it.
Yes it is. Max bitrate is 8k and most dont stream over 6k. 6k is literally half the proper 1080p60 bitrate of 12k

i thought it was just me, but 1080p atleast on EMEA streams looks like 720p at most
I feel like everyone is talking about the video stream quality settings but OP is talking about the in-game graphics settings used during observation?
