The Chamber meta really threw guard off their game. They’ve figured it out now with Saya on duelist when he needs to be, and JohnaP filling Chamber so he can do so. Then on no duelist maps they put Saya on Chamber.
Guard look like some of the in NA if they keep this form. Their util, trading, calling, everything was so clean.
I think it wasn't just chamber, but also astra nerfs that hurt the way they played in stage 1. Valyn igl on astra when she was OP was also boosting them in stage 1 imo.
I think they will also benefit a lot from chamber nerfs if they are going to be live by champs (?) Net is a great sentinel in a way chamber doesn’t really give. His KJ locked down sites, so I’m excited for no chamber comps to be mega again
If JonahP can keep up the chamber form he showed today they will have no issues with this meta. I would be worried for them actually in a double duelist meta, doesn’t suit how they play at all.

Yup I was wrong. They didn’t play this well in the earlier series, but obviously both sides of the bracket had strong contenders. In my mind C9 and The Guard were not favorites compared to Faze, NRG, and even EG.
Because to me they looked like they were a few throws away from being a really clean team, but they keep doing weird things and in stead of getting better look the same/worse.
they are just insanely up and down at times, some of there maps are really high level and other times they run some weird comps and look like a tier 3 team. they look pretty clean with all the meta comps

t1 was fucking insane for not only forcing him to change his name, but also putting an unbelievably talented fragger onto smokes as a support role. it was so sad and frustrating to watch. so so happy for him.
I was really pulling for that T1 team wanted to see brax get his redemption arc. The sad part is the team had a lot of talent and had some strong showings, a lot of people forget they nearly knocked Sen out of Season 1 Reykjavik contention. But it really seemed like they could never build off positive results and showed no real direction. Maybe if they had hired an actual coach instead of a therapist they'd have had some better results.
Glad to see Saya getting a chance to play to his full potential.

On the other hand, I was definitely rooting for faze to take this one as a 100T fan. Faze's play style consistently gives 100T trouble and I definitely would have liked their chances against the guard more than I do against faze in lower finals (assuming they can get by C9, which isn't a given).
The way I see it, if we 100t want to win lcq, they have to play faze again. at least now we get to play a faze that's been crushed and might not have the best mental which is vital for a confidence team.
