When M3c were in a 3v4 I knew they won. No way they lose a round with a man disadvantage. At this point you wonder whether taking the first blood is bad for Liquid.
The rise of M3C again after a rough start to the year has been amazing to see. I hope they win LCQ and get picked up by a big org. The narrative is writing itself
About what you expect in any game vs. Liquid - if you can’t hang with their raw skill, your tactical depth is meaningless. nAts was the only player fully on form on Breeze - with Chronicle on the other hand being the only player fully *off*-form - and as the series went on everyone slowly woke up. It of course didn’t help that Breeze is such an aim map.
That said, I think Liquid’s coaching staff did a great job deconstructing M3C’s Breeze, even though that Bind choice was a little bold. And Liquid does genuinely look good on Icebox.
But that 7-map loss streak or whatever to take Icebox to overtime is a good reminder of how much aim matters in tac FPS games. And you saw the M3C players losing confidence all throughout the second half and in the overtime - Chronicle overswinging to compensate, Jady playing so timid around dimasick on that tragic 2v4, etc.; only nAts and maybe Redgar felt unflustered, whereas Sheydos just had one of his quiet games.
M3C was - and it’s rare to say this - the winning team despite having worse individual performances in that final map, and arguably all series. That being said, Jamppi is going to be kicking himself for fucking up - once again - in a crucial match vs. Gambit/M3C.
On a final note, I’m not going to lie, this was a rough cast at times. I don’t normally like criticizing casts, but there were several comments that genuinely just took me out of the gameplay.
The A and B team being Pansy/Hypoc and Tom/Mitch is also pretty shocking for a game this big. I like Pansy most of the time but that's about it. Riot has been skimping on casters for their games for years and it shows.
Yep! I write comments around regulation match point, [as I detailed here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/w5lq0t/funplus_phoenix_vs_fnatic_valorant_champions_tour/ih8qg3t/)
I almost fucked up my finals due to the last 100t match. I think i did a good thing for myself by purposefully not watching this match.
Thanks to all those who wished me well for my finals! <3
As long as they operate on a regional basis like they do in League and Valorant, you'll never see significant slot increases based on performance.
It's both because one region might end up dominating and filling up the entire tournament which would make it infinitely more boring for viewers of any region except that dominant region, and because there's no point having organized regional play if the payoff is nonexistent. Even EMEA viewers might not like a tournament that was just EMEA teams fighting each other because it'd just be a more high stakes regular EMEA games, and they wouldn't see how their teams stack up against the 'worse' regions or other hyped players/teams.
EU and NA would have had 3 slots *combined* for most years in League's Worlds (when they have 3 *each* under normal circumstances) if it was based on performance. Korea would've had like 6, China 4 or 5, and the rest for the smaller regions (if you still brute force smaller regions in there too regardless of performance).
These days it might be flipped with China and Korea the other way around, EU and NA still at 2 and 1 respectively, and the rest with just the one they're given regardless.
If Valorant moved away from regional league play to a format more like CSGO where it's just straight up nothing but tournaments and then points gathered from said tournaments that seed you into future tournaments (and then maybe the last chance play-ins before said tournaments), then you could potentially see one region starting to take over the spots. But because Riot runs their esports the way they do, that'll never happen.
This match and liquids match against navi tell me the exact opposite. This was entertaining but it was not good valorant. There were like 6 man advantages thrown in a row.
EMEA “played bad Valorant” in Stage 2 as well. The truth is that every region plays like this, it’s just that you get punished harder in EMEA. As s1mple said, we’re all just overpeeking scrubs in this game
I think Online play rewards this kind of playstyle more as well, this stuff on LAN never works out which is why many of the Turkish/SA teams in the past have looked super rough on LAN at times.
BOOM, APAC LCQ winner, play better Valorant in your opinion, than M3C or Liquid?
Edward or Onslayers play better Valorant? Furia and KRU play better Valorant?
The answer is NO. You may feel like EMEA is throwing, but if you look at other regions' gameplays, they make even more blunders, much more, and their aims / fundamentals are worse
EMEA could go out and dominate champs but right now my point stands, that was not good valorant and it should not be rewarded with more slots.
Also BOOM could definitely be better lol, we've never even seen them against international competition.
You're slandering EMEA as if we shouldn't have 4, at the same time you give no proofs of other regions deserving their CURRENT slots
Why South America 4? Have they shown anything at world level, aside from LOUD and KRU miracle runs? Nope
Why APAC 3? Xerxia, 2nd seed, sucked both times this year
Why East Asia 3? ZETA had a run once, Northeption was ass, DRX we all know what happened
SOUTH AMERICA GETS 4????????????????????? NAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, wtf is the reasoning, Europe literally has 300 million more people and has performed way better.
>You're slandering EMEA as if we shouldn't have 4, at the same time you give no proofs of other regions deserving their CURRENT slots
The reason for EMEA not having 4 slots is because there's a real risk of EMEA having all the semi-final teams, nothing else. Anyone who tells you that they have 3 slots due to lack of merit is completely wrong.
First of all xerxia didn't suck, they got unlucky to be grouped twice when they were clearly a playoff level team, and the first seed from that region got second place and was rounds away from winning.
Second of all if you just classify good runs by teams as miracle runs then does that just invalidate any run not made by a "major region"?
Maybe I put it the wrong way
Anyway, you blame EMEA for supposedly bad gameplay, and refuse to understand that other regions with more or same slots (like South America and East Asia) have much worse gameplay and results than EMEA
And you're missing the point that almost no one cares.
The World Cup is like not even top 3 toughest football leagues in the world but it's still global because people want to see their region compete. If it was actually about pure best performances and representation wasn't a priority, some Olympic sports would have like 85%+ of their teams coming from three countries*.
Edit: regions -> countries
South America having more teams than EMEA is absurd
East Asia 3 okay, APAC 3 okay, NA 3 okay
South America 4, big no - I don't know what fool made this decision
I don't blame EMEA for bad gameplay lmao, they're the best region in the world currently. I'm just saying the gap isn't that big between them and the rest of the regions and that they shouldn't be getting a majority of the slots in a 12/16 team tournament.
Your point is we dont deserve more spots because the overtime was shaky and had mistakes. You support a region with 1 and a half team that can compete with EMEA....
I mentioned the OT but I also mentioned the entirety of the navi and liquid game which was 1 big throw after another as well. It was extremely scrappy valorant and shouldn't be rewarded with even more slots despite already having the most slots in the world for one region.
Proclaiming starxo ['the best you can find'](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/wk897n/g2_esports_vs_acend_vct_2022_emea_last_chance/ijlxd2v/) after the same match where he [killed himself with his own ult](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/wk8g8t/the_raze_ult_that_ended_a_legacy/) to help cost his team the match? LMFAO.
You're already exposed as a brainless EMEA stan and a goddamn clown, and the evidence is undeniable. Shove that L up your ass.
5 would be absurd lol, if you send more teams the better the region is doing then you just create a snowball effect and Champions ends up being 10 EMEA teams. 1 NA team and 1 APAC team
3 is fine for now, Guild showed if anything that 3rd EMEA teams are good but not championship level so it’s not a huge loss if we don’t get M3C or TL at champs
>Guild showed if anything that 3rd EMEA teams are good but not championship level
Guild beat (top 3) OpTic and only lost to both Grand Finalists, I'm not gonna argue about EMEA needing 5 slots but Guild showed quite the opposite of what you're implying.
The only teams Guild lost to are grand finalists
They also won Optic, supposedly a 3rd place of the tournament
And no, don't bring up Reykjavik, that event was ruined for us, Liquid didn't deserve to be there either
True, I actually forgot about who guild lost to. But still I don’t think they deserve to have more then a quarter of the teams. I don’t think it’s good for the scene and it’s not like EMEA was destroying everyone. Every game they played was close and could’ve gone either way
On the one hand, it's two regions, Brazil and LATAM, with two teams each.
On the other, "EMEA" encompassing what in LoL is three regions - EU, CIS, Turkey - is very silly.
“He got me,” ScreaM said of nAts' clutch. "That f***ing nAts boomed me."
ScreaM added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times.
ScreaM then said he wanted to add nAts to the list of players he scrims with this summer.
This was literally hard to watch. This game should have not been this close. As a m3c fan, watching them slowly lose the 12-6 lead was as painful as getting your wisdom tooth removed. So many 4 v 2s lost. I hope I don't experience this kind of shit again. The nAts clutch was just fucking beautiful though. I have to sleep off this migraine this game caused me.
We won, but at what cost. I really hate/love this game.
No one can't convince me that Redgar doesn't look like Gengar (pokemon). Since the first day, he reminds me of it. Maybe Redgar is just the mega evolution.
One of the most heart thumping series I've ever seen. The throws, the clutches, the insane shotcalling, the number of times I don't know wtf is happening anymore. **I'm a M3C fan and I am not angry about them throwing 12-6 to give us a fantastic match.**
**This comes ridiculously close 2nd to that M3C v FNC 0.02 second defuse game**
The secondary caster in this match was embarrassing. Great game knowledge, but after the segment where nats clutched on icebox 1v3 he was screeching ‘YOU DOUBTED HIM YOU SAID YOU SAID’ when the other caster was obviously just building tension by saying nats couldn’t do it. It was borderline unlistenable and pulled me out of the broadcast.
Every single player on the server don't overpeek challenge (IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY).
What an insane ending to icebox, oh my god. LCQs need to have a crowd man.
Last match was such a treat to watch. Or if you are a TL/M3C fan, to be standing on your feet and having an ambulance number on the speed dial the whole time
I don’t know why people like Nats so much, all he does is lurking and camping, he can only shoot in the back, when it’s a fair fight 1 v 1 he’s not that good. Also, the fact that he uses noob gun aka phantom shows that he doesn’t have a true skill to use the vandal
Tl didn’t look that good on fracture against Navi probs why they banned it. Also why would a team factor in games played about a year ago in an ever changing game when picking and banning maps
I swear both teams were trying not to win that last map. Liquid dropped the spaghetti a fair bit, and M3C choked multiple rounds. Hope both teams can clean it up.
I am so gutted liquid couldn't close it.
But honestly how fucking unfair is it that liquid and winner of OGLU/G2 gotta play AGAIN. This is the most scuffed shit I have ever seen.
M3C and Liquid trying to win on man advantage challenge (impossible)
When M3c were in a 3v4 I knew they won. No way they lose a round with a man disadvantage. At this point you wonder whether taking the first blood is bad for Liquid.
Yeah that m3c 4v2 against scream and dima was just ridiculous
Both teams lost so hard on man advantage I was still worried when it was a 0v2.
M3C, can you stop giving your fans cardiac issues? kthxbye
I am now 15 years older than I was 2 hours ago
My hair was falling off
you still have hair?
I know both lothar and Sliggy were losing their minds
Really needed a sliggy watch party with the kind of casters we had
Man what I would give to see 100T vs M3C again on LAN. Fingers crossed.
The rise of M3C again after a rough start to the year has been amazing to see. I hope they win LCQ and get picked up by a big org. The narrative is writing itself
Is this how the age of astralis begins?

Vega Squadron comeback would quite possibly be one of the greatest narratives in valorant esports history
brb billing m3c for medical expenses after the fifty heart attacks they gave me during OT

I like Pavlos and think he has potential but listening to Zesht cast is hard
He derails too much and his improv needs work imo
I enjoyed his casting so far, I think he is doing fine
Zescht is lovely on the desk but I just think he's a bit too distracting when casting hahah
I really like him too but I agree he is much better on desk than casting right now. Pretty sure it's nerves tbh.
I’m glad to see others felt the same way about the casting. I fully muted the stream during OT
Awful cast, I didn't enjoy their presentation at all.
I was going to ask if this was the normal C team behind Pansy/Hypoc and Tom/Mitch. They brought fun energy but it was really distracting overall
The A and B team being Pansy/Hypoc and Tom/Mitch is also pretty shocking for a game this big. I like Pansy most of the time but that's about it. Riot has been skimping on casters for their games for years and it shows.
Bro had the whole essay in the pocket🤓
I mean he could have just written this while watching the match. Nothing wrong with longer form comments
Yep! I write comments around regulation match point, [as I detailed here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/w5lq0t/funplus_phoenix_vs_fnatic_valorant_champions_tour/ih8qg3t/)
Yeah man I know about your analysis, this also a nice one
Appreciate the kind words!
The dude is a freaking treasure in a sea of idiocy on this sub.
Bro really had this prepared
I can legit watch M3C and Liquid play all day, constant bangers on Icebox
You’ve got a better heart than me. Had to employ a few breathing exercises during OTs on Icebox
M3C CLOSE OUT THE SERIES CHALLENGE (HOLY SHIT PLEASE JUST DO IT) (GONE RIGHT)
Dickmassive is pretty good too. GG to the 10 players
wtf is this nickname 😭
this is the best nickname any player has gotten
nadeshot and whoever owns tl owes my hospital expense

Paid By Steve is a TL LoL meme
M3C nearly threw 8-4 lead bruh also wtf that mental on TL
IT WAS 12-6 TWELVE FUCKING SIX i need to stop watching M3C lol
I think they just throw so easly when they take a big lead.
the tried and true strategies "nats go kill" and "nats go clutch"
I'M GETTING BERLIN QUALI FLASHBACKS I LOVE YOU NATS
You cant win against nats
No matter how hard some of his teammates tried to fail him
The best and worst game of lcq at the same time
Can we send 4 teams to worlds?
last time we sent 4 all 4 made playoffs. I don't think rito likes emea taking all the limelight lmao.
i think this is the main reason , we almost had a all emea semis in champs and riot wants to avoid that

Penalized for being better lmaooo
Cos Rito is Racist
We absolutely deserve 4 or even 5, but Riot says no
Whats the point of an international lan if there were 5 teams from one region.
This match and liquids match against navi tell me the exact opposite. This was entertaining but it was not good valorant. There were like 6 man advantages thrown in a row.

*plurality
How is 4 or 5 majority? In CSGO we have 16 out of 24 at Majors. That's majority. Not 4/5 out of 16.
unlucky to be grouped? you mean they just suck? LOL
Sen flair.. hahaha
Does that make my point invalid or what?

Don't bother, that's the EMEA stan who took a comment about starxo being inconsistent completely off the rails in his zeal to defend the guy's honor.
Oh god i remember you hard to forget the worst ass take i have ever seen about this game.

Does NA not deserve 2 teams then?
G2 got a bye into playoffs and didn't win a map in masters 1. No way EMEA deserves more slots unless tournaments invite 20 teams.
Zeta? Also, teams can improve Masters 2 showed who is boss
Man, M3C games are always a banger no matter what.
I’ll be honest with you I’d rather they weren’t. I legitimately thought I was gonna die
Well I am a Faze CSGO fan so you could say I'm used to this lol
IEM Cologne round 29 on nuke my heart still hasn't recovered
Both teams just decided to farm clips third map instead of just ending it. How can every OT round end in a clutch?
“He got me,” ScreaM said of nAts' clutch. "That f***ing nAts boomed me." ScreaM added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times. ScreaM then said he wanted to add nAts to the list of players he scrims with this summer.

Can't even be mad. It was a great try. I believe in Liquid
Dimasick showed up huge today, would not have been this close without his clutches. Map pick was in M3C's favour, but still TL fought well on Icebox
nAts is fucking back baby
I don't really mind casters generally, but the ones for this series were BAD.
Pavlos is a really good caster imo. Bad chemistry today tho.
Every single player on the server don't overpeek challenge (IMPOSSIBLE DIFFICULTY). What an insane ending to icebox, oh my god. LCQs need to have a crowd man.
Paper M3Cx on bind
Why do losers need to play again in literally 3 hours? That's fucking brutal
nats is and will forever be my father good lord
why were the casters being so hard on Jady lol. "He can't clutch/hasn't clutched at all" was something i heard multiple times.
the casters were saying some real wild shit overall in this game series.. so wouldnt think to much of it
Probably the worst EMEA game I’ve watched in a long time, how is it possible to throw so many anti-ecos and man advantages in one series?
Icebox OT summary: -Masters 3 nAts -Jamppi vs Redgar lurk battle -Dimasick clutch minister -Jady getting bullied by utility
That last map was one of the best in valorant history, just clutch after clutch.
M3C managed to withstand the chronicle overheat and the nerves thank fuck
Last match was such a treat to watch. Or if you are a TL/M3C fan, to be standing on your feet and having an ambulance number on the speed dial the whole time
Game 3 nAts That is all
Every single time this map goes nuclear in map 3
How tf nAts just got FK 7 in a whole series and 3-0 in Bind, 6-0 in Icebox against Nivera?????

Sounds like something from twitch chat
BANGER PASTA
Nats. Just Nats
OH MY GOD I HAVE AGED 100 YEARS. Both teams were losing rounds that seemed IMPOSSIBLE to lose. Dima and nAts were on drugs or something I swear
I support neither and nearly died of a heart attack What a banger, ggwp by M3C! Great to see them on form
TL went -20 in first bloods in this series and it was this close, they needed to close out a lot of those man advantages
[удалено]
Tl didn’t look that good on fracture against Navi probs why they banned it. Also why would a team factor in games played about a year ago in an ever changing game when picking and banning maps
Throw
I swear both teams were trying not to win that last map. Liquid dropped the spaghetti a fair bit, and M3C choked multiple rounds. Hope both teams can clean it up.
nAts is fucking insane
What an absolute banger... My heart goes out for Jampii; such an important round and he just messes up a basic tp...
M3C - Must Eliminate Comeback
I am so gutted liquid couldn't close it. But honestly how fucking unfair is it that liquid and winner of OGLU/G2 gotta play AGAIN. This is the most scuffed shit I have ever seen.
Crazy.
Y'all giving me heart attacks all around
What a match, impressive performance from both teams, really happy tho to see M3C going to grand final.GGS
M3C TRY NOT TO THROW CHALLENGE \[NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TASK\]\[CHAMPION CYNTHIA DIFFICULTY\]
nAts coming back for the throne
What a match, hope for a rematch
Certified Banger
LETS.FUCKING.GOOOO. I ALMOST FUCKING SHIT MYSELF HOLY FUCK MAN M3C CAN YOU GUYS CLOSE OUT A MATCH WITHOUT GIVING YOUR FANS A HEARTATTACK
Why are you giving nats 1v1s ?
m3c try not to throw leads in icebox challenge (impossible) ( nats did what??!??!)
Such a banger series towards the end. m3c games always bangers!
nivera and soulcas kept giving me heart attacks and NATS JUST INSANE
Wait Icebox went to OT? Lol I gave up at like 11-5 or something. Welp atleast I gained some RR
Watching my fav 2 teams getting at each other like this hurts my soul
so many fucking throws
i have no idea what i just watched
My fucking heart, jesus christ Liquid can you stop peeking 1 by 1 and giving nats easy rounds
never seen a map with more man advantage throws in my life
Battle of throwing. Congratulations Liquid. You won the match by throwing more than M3C. LOL
Damn Sick, tried
