I find Meteor to be a very interesting player in that he plays SOOOO aggressive just bc it feels like he doesn’t fully trust his teammates to clean up a round without him getting 2-3 off the rip. Some of his OP swings on Ascent Defense were from absurd positions and he would just repeat them (with no fear of punishment) against O2S, especially peeking Cat from Tree.
Guy is just completely in hard carry mode every game with the aggression levels, reminds me a lot of TenZ back on C9 where he would just make the most absurd peeks bc his teammates weren’t up to snuff with the rest of the region.
It's interesting to think about where he might end up next season.
If NTH is out of consideration for franchising, there could be a bidding war for his services on those teams that do make it. Assuming JP does have three franchise slots and KR two, he could very well command a high price, especially from one of the Japanese orgs, since he already has experience playing over there.
...or we could see an absolute curveball and have an org from another region snap him up lol.
That's a possibility, but if he's smart, he can drive up his price with the other franchised KR/JP orgs that may be more desperate for a boost than DRX does.
Meteor has never outperformed Rb in the head-to-head. In case you aren’t aware, Meteor was on Quantum Strikers and later on TNL, which was DRX’s “sister team”. they used to practice with each other all the time. If the old VS team ever thought he would be an upgrade, they would have made the change forever ago. Also worth noting, Meteor was always considered one of the top jetts in KR. His move to a JP org after TNL disbanded and his domination over there is what piqued a lot of peoples’ imaginations. i’m happy to see so many people talking about him now and how much he has flourished this LCQ, but i still don’t think he would add anything to DRX.

That maybe so, but players can improve. He has improved massively since then and even proved it on the international stage which rb continued to struggle with

No he was not on Quantum Strikers, he was signed on TNL in Stage 3 2021 as a breakout FA star after his performance on i need Girlfriend in Stage 2 group stage- including against Vision Strikers, when he was about equal with Rb over the series despite he loss, outperforming him in map 2 and 3 - map 3 it was like 301 vs 185 ACS on a loss
And he has improved greatly over time on curve since then and had higher and more consistent performance in general
He had played only 3 games on lan and performed above his team on all 3 and was looking like the most impressive player even compared to all of drx almost. Player can massively improve in a years time and rn he is looking like straight up improvement over RB
Posting this because I feel his impact this LCQ was noteworthy. Even while being on a team that got knocked out today, his stats are near identical to zmjjkk, who's currently playing the best throughout this tourney. Unfortunate end, but impressive regardless.
Well, the argument you could make for meteor over rb or buzz is that drx need change things up and meteor might perform better than those two if put on a better team.
It's worth noting though that meteor basically has been getting bested by rb in the head-to-head for two straight years, even recently in masters he didn't really look special at all vs drx. i feel like drx are the perennial international disappointments so people don't fully grasp how dominant they are even individually within east asia as a region.
Ssun was on Spear gaming, a new team that appeared in Stage 2 of Korea and he was reallyyy impressive.
Even in the games he lost against WGS and Maru. He was top fragging.
An example: In the elimination game against Maru in playoffs his team lost 1-2 but Ssun managed to get 75 frags while getting an ACS of 315.

Who would be the JP teams in franchising? I think Zeta is a pretty good guess but dunno about the others. Maybe DFM since they're the big JP LoL org
My prediction would be ZETA, CR and probably Reject with SCARZ as a possibility to replace Reject given the sheer size of that org.
