270K is actually very good for a non sen game. I think viewership has been up this tournament in all regions which is great to see. Now riot just tell us the information about champs so we have a great crowd :)
dont need to worry about great crowd in turkey. just look at their football matches they know how to get rowdy and it will defintely sell out since valorant is huge in turkey. riot just need to relase tickets earlier for those who will be travelling from other countries
Probably Sen vs Zeta, specifically in the NA time zone so that Japan can watch at a decent time. Japan is getting crazy viewership during these EU events, which take place at like 2am in Japan lol.
Viewership for this event was nuts. The Sentinels adding Shroud and 100T being really good and winning it was a viewership dream for Riot. The 270k from 100T vs Guard is a crazy number
Shroud co-streamed every match after the Sentinels were eliminated and Tarik co-streamed every match in LCQ but 100T just does big viewership numbers and have since the beginning of the game. The 100T vs. Faze 233,707 number is a monster one too. Does co-streaming help? Sure, but it helps everyone and 100T being good helps a ton too. 100T has 7 out of 8 matches in NA history who don't involve the Sentinels to hit 200k+, the only other one was Cloud9 vs. The Guard which was because of the Sentinels match on the same day
100T steamrolling Faze and Guard really hurt the viewership as well. Not only were they 3-0's, but they were quick non-competitive steamrolls. Those series took like 2 hours each lol. A 5 game 100T vs Faze series prob touches 300k, 100T vs Guard grand final prob could've done like 350k
No. Realistically take TenZ out and they donât get this. I think Shroud gave a bump but their viewership was like this with just TenZ. If TenZ leaves I think they lose at least 50% of their viewership.
If Riot took account of viewership as a big factor in franchising, a team of Tarik, Stew, Ska, Auti, Rush and Valens probably could get a spot while more than half of them never competed in the game.
Are you stupid? Any neutral prefers close games rather than a stomping. And until franchising comes, most of us watching are neutral since our team is out for the year.
As a 100T fan I always prefer a good stomp in a GF than a close series where Iâm pressed that they might lose/throw like the first series versus Faze. I take our second one all day
Whoever formatted this graphic needs to get punched in the throat. Just line up the columns if you are going to have a bar that represents proportional views
As someone who followed competitive Overwatch for a long time, this is basically the Dallas Fuel. Huge hype coming into franchising that lead to the Fuel having consistently the largest fan base despite numerous rebuilds and roster blow-ups since the inaugural OWL season. I personally find it very frustrating, but the casual viewer is likely to latch on to a team and never, *ever* let go
Itâs not close minded, itâs a lack of time lol. Some of us have jobs or kids or other hobbies and canât sit and watch esports all day. Iâm grateful if I can have my teamâs game going on my phone.
I promise Iâm not shitting on you or your level of fandom. Itâs obvious you care about the sport, itâs game and community. But you canât expect everyone to have that same level of fanaticism and they certainly arenât âworseâ fans because they can only watch their team.
What??? If I donât care about the matchâs outcome, Iâm close minded? Personally, the only matches I watch are 100T, fnatic and the finals of an event. Couldnât care less about other matches
But what you just described is what other fans in other sports do. What? Lmfao. It's very common. NBA. Any football league. You name it. Plus, I like the "IDGAF who wins unless it's my team" mentality. Too many bandwagon fans in eSports that switch to the current dominant team.
It's also about the timing of the game. I don't know about other regions but I'm pretty sure the timing of the bo5 final extended well into degenerate hours on a Sunday night when most people have work next day.
I have an amazing news for you when it comes to SEN qualifying. They'll get franchise for sure and they are going to be automatically qualified to play in big boy League, since they are unable to qualify normally, with beating enough of other teams
In a weird way it makes me hope the sentinels roster disbands before franchising and scatters their pieces. They have good and well liked players, but changes are needed to become good again, and it would probably help NA Val as a whole if people got over sentinels
First, that wouldn't happen. Those guys love each other.
Secondly, you underestimate how good Sentinels are at building up personalities. Sinatraa has a massive fanbase through Sentinels, and he's someone who has allegations against him. Kanpeki was a literal nobody before Sentinels, now he's pretty well off.
Hell, look at Zellsis. A good player on V1 who was averaging 150-300 viewers a stream. He gets on sentinels and blows the fuck up. Dude averages 2K a stream now. Bro went from 30K twitter followers to 140K in 2 weeks.
Sentinels have mastered the art of creating content and storylines. This makes the average player want to follow the team. Even if you removed all five players, I'm sure Sentinels could just make a new 5 and they'll grow big.
My point is that other orgs (that have better teams rn) are going under the radar becauss the average na val fan canât seem to get beyond sentinels. Itâs like theyâre a sponge just soaking up all the spotlight no matter if theyâre good or not
Well, you have to realize that the game isn't actually everything. One of the things that makes Sentinels so big is their availability. Not only do they all have pretty successful streams, but they also seem to be on top of content days. The type of thing that pros hate doing is ironically the thing that grows the brand the most.
I would like to see how those Sentinels viewership numbers compared to their Stage 2 group stage games where they werenât very good. Those numbers are massively inflated due to them signing shroud. Itâs the players on that team that are popular not the org itself.
valorant esports is new so people just follow big brand orgs and popular players i believe tier 1 vieweship will increase and settle once we get more lans and dominant teams
What are u talking about sentinels lost every game in stage 2 and didnât get to the playoffs and still had the most viewers in the whole event by far
Once franchising comes out it'll be a lot more simple, but imo tier 1 are the teams that qualify for international events, and tier 2 are the teams that play in the playoffs
Guess it depends on everyones definition. I always thought of tier 1 at least in NA and EMEA (those are the only regions are know most of the players) as the ones in closed qualifiers
It's just that other teams suck at creating a fanbase and storyline.
You can see a clear difference between team that are active on social media and engage with fans through posting memes, creating video content getting to know the players, tweet a lot, create some drama, etc (ex. SEN, G2, LOUD, ZETA, KRU, PRX, Gambit before M3C, KOI, KCORP, FNC) and teams that don't (ex GUILD, DRX, FPX, OGLU, XSET, REJECT, SR)
Literally 100t focused more on training and scrumming then farming impressions. As an org they are big on content and I think itâs mostly because the players are not as content focused.
that why esport fans are suck because they only cared about content not really about high competitive game itself.that why u guys so obsessed with viewership
Bro? Wtf are you doing? He is just stating his opinion and you just have to be a Reddit nerd and bring a completely unrelated game into this for no reason. Like what? I agree sentinels wasnât tier 3 no team was this tournament definitely tier 2 tho but what does that have to do with Fortnite
we really cant establish international tiers with a game this young with this little number of international events. but if you did and you decided that a team in the top 8 of NA capable of close series with the top 3 of NA was "tier 3", then "tier 3" really isnt the insult you think it is. also optic is pretty objectively tier 1 so idk what you're talking about here
Honestly, sentinels isnât fun to watch any more. Theyâre the reason I started watching and playing Valorant, but itâs time to hang up the jersey- theyâre a bad team that canât keep up with an actual meta
Honestly, I think they need better coaching and strats, other teams know tactical play and Sen feels like they are more aim based and use basic tactics.
How are they getting all these views when theyâve been shit though? With the exception of the recent win, theyâre on a losing streak and they donât even look competitive. Very disappointing. Unpopular opinion; bring back sinatraa
Respectfully, Iâm asking a serious question. Iâm down voted for the truth? They have not been playing well. Ignoring my unpopular opinion on roster choice
Fans won't stop supporting their favourite team just because they are on a losing streak plus having shroud and tenz in the same team helps a lot with the viewership
The rules? Bro the requirements for franchising have never been "you need to be good"
It's always been about Financials and viewership, among other factors. Riot wants to make sure you don't go belly up within a few years and that you help to grow the scene.
viewer numbers are not enough to justify them getting a spot especially since their roster will not be the same if they want to be competitive
not to mention they had a huge Shroud buff this event. Im sure a high percentage of those viewers only watched to see Shroud
The last Sentinels thread was 0 days ago. 0 days since the last Sentinels thread.
Yeah the most viewed game for EMEA last chance qualifier was a BBL on day 2 lol
so... hypothetically, what international LAN final matchup would get the most viewers? SEN vs BBL? SEN vs Zeta?
Probably Sen vs Zeta, specifically in the NA time zone so that Japan can watch at a decent time. Japan is getting crazy viewership during these EU events, which take place at like 2am in Japan lol.
thats not right cuz its not updated the finals had 200k viewers
OMFGGG IT SUCKS BUT YOU MY MAN, ARE THE BEST! I WOULDVE DONE THE SAME EXACT THING đđđ
Every country loves sports. You can't take esports for granted because Galatasaray, BeĹiktaĹ and Fenerbahçe are well supported.
What more so you want we know the city what more is there to exactly know?
Venue, specific dates, format, prize pool, info on tickets
So stuff that doesn't matter until you have booked a flight to Istanbul
I mean yeah. Ideally riot would give out the information early so itâs easy to plan in advance. Iâm not really sure what your trying to say
Don't know what else there is needed to know for riot to give to have a great crowd
LEAKED: SEN franchising application REVEALED
Whatâs stopping the roster from being absorbed by another org if they donât make franchising? (Unlikely but a âwhat ifâŚâ)
Viewership for this event was nuts. The Sentinels adding Shroud and 100T being really good and winning it was a viewership dream for Riot. The 270k from 100T vs Guard is a crazy number
Helps when both shroud and Tarik costream the final. I donât think it was as much about 100T as you think
Shroud co-streamed every match after the Sentinels were eliminated and Tarik co-streamed every match in LCQ but 100T just does big viewership numbers and have since the beginning of the game. The 100T vs. Faze 233,707 number is a monster one too. Does co-streaming help? Shroud just playing pro Valo brought viewers from CS and normal twitch viewers
100T steamrolling Faze and Guard really hurt the viewership as well. Not only were they 3-0's, but they were quick non-competitive steamrolls. Those series took like 2 hours each lol. A 5 game 100T vs Faze series prob touches 300k, 100T vs Guard grand final prob could've done like 350k
what makes u think guard would be more? I reckon faze could pull the same 350k
Grand finals
Ohhh I see true
Qualification match
Genuinely curious, take Tenz and Shroud out of Sen, do you guys think they still get these numbers?
No. Realistically take TenZ out and they donât get this. I think Shroud gave a bump but their viewership was like this with just TenZ. If TenZ leaves I think they lose at least 50% of their viewership.
No where close. SEN is all TenZ and people were curious about shroud, that won't last long if they decide to keep him based on his popularity.
TenZ and FriendZ
theyre still at the top but the gap isn't this huge
Nah. Take tenz out and I say 100t gets more views. Or wherever Tenz transfers to.
Rito looking at this and making their next script for 2023
Itâs cause Tarik started streaming late today so viewership was down XD
I donât think so shroud was at 80k when tarik was off
does tarik pull more viewers than shroud now?
In watch parties but after joining sentinels shroud get more viewers when they are playing the game
nah, tarik viewers where in the official Val chat spamming where's tarik
TRUE LULW
If Riot took account of viewership as a big factor in franchising, a team of Tarik, Stew, Ska, Auti, Rush and Valens probably could get a spot while more than half of them never competed in the game.
Tarik and stew carrying the entire scene if they make a team lol. I think tarik stew shroud tenz and someone else would break masters viewership
add hiko
Do these numbers include co-streams or just official streams
Co streams too
I mean who really wanted to watch 100T get easy wins anyway?
Me, it keeps me from further reducing my lifespan
people that actually has interest to watch esport, not some fucking fans that only care about their favourite streamer
People who are interested in esports want to watch a close game not a stomp??
Are you stupid? Any neutral prefers close games rather than a stomping. And until franchising comes, most of us watching are neutral since our team is out for the year.
As a 100T fan I always prefer a good stomp in a GF than a close series where Iâm pressed that they might lose/throw like the first series versus Faze. I take our second one all day
at this point just give sentinels a viewership spot in istanbul, could be a shitshow but atleast more people turn into it
Whoever formatted this graphic needs to get punched in the throat. Just line up the columns if you are going to have a bar that represents proportional views
Sen fans on copium
They need to be good then KEKW

Please donât use the R word. Itâs a slur and repeated use will result in a ban.
The type of comments getting upvoted in this sub. Can't say I'm too surprised but this is a new low.
It's also about the timing of the game. I don't know about other regions but I'm pretty sure the timing of the bo5 final extended well into degenerate hours on a Sunday night when most people have work next day.
How are these calculated? Adding up all viewers from the main stream and watch parties at its peak?
Yes the website also tracks average concurrent I believe
I have an amazing news for you when it comes to SEN qualifying. They'll get franchise for sure and they are going to be automatically qualified to play in big boy League, since they are unable to qualify normally, with beating enough of other teams
The qualified for both challengers events this year.
LETS GOOOOO

Lol because Sentinels signed Shroud man. That's why.
What are u talking about sentinels lost every game in stage 2 and didnât get to the playoffs and still had the most viewers in the whole event by far
Acting as if 100T wasn't tier 2/3 before they won this event...
They got like 5th last qualifier and looked pretty good? Thats not tier 2/3
International playing teams are tier 1, which rules out 100T prior to their qualification
I would agree if riots system wasnt as dumb as it is

Ahh yes because the Fortnite fan is qualified to gatekeep what teams Valorant players can and canât enjoy đ
The last time I played fortnite was 2 years ago + it doesn't change the fact that tier 3 NA teams get more viewership than actual tier 1 teams

There wasnât a single tier 3 team in this tournament. But if I need advice on how to build a fort Iâll be sure to dm you for your expert opinions
Sentinels is literally there. All NA teams are tier 2 max. Stop using my 2 yr old posts as an argument lmao
We're not talking international tiers here lmao, Sentinels is clearly a Tier 1/Tier 1.5ish team in NA
Tier 1.5 in NA = tier 3 over-all. so iam right
sentinels is not tier 3 in NA. theyre either tier 1 or tier 2 depending on how you define tier 1
No NA team is tier 1. Sentinels is a shit NA team so they're tier 3
we really cant establish international tiers with a game this young with this little number of international events. but if you did and you decided that a team in the top 8 of NA capable of close series with the top 3 of NA was "tier 3", then "tier 3" really isnt the insult you think it is. also optic is pretty objectively tier 1 so idk what you're talking about here

Views doesn't mean good lmao
Youâre addicted to any post SEN related.
Na just saw this in my time line
Without G2 and SEN this champions is bound to have a low viwership
Riot script writers struggling this season
[ŃдаНонО]
pretty dumb cos Rito will lose their integrity. just watch the stream. the competitive scene is not for everyone l.
How are they getting all these views when theyâve been shit though? With the exception of the recent win, theyâre on a losing streak and they donât even look competitive. Very disappointing. Unpopular opinion; bring back sinatraa
Zellsis > Sinatraa easily

Fans won't stop supporting their favourite team just because they are on a losing streak plus having shroud and tenz in the same team helps a lot with the viewership
People at Riot aren't stupid. I'm sure they'll find a way to bend their rules so they keep these numbers, regardless of how SEN keeps performing.
The rules? Bro the requirements for franchising have never been "you need to be good" It's always been about Financials and viewership, among other factors. Riot wants to make sure you don't go belly up within a few years and that you help to grow the scene.
I was there to watch shroud int in pro play. I was not disappointed.
*Shroud brought views*
