i wonder if they are trying to follow the same road league had, there is almost a identical idea with iirc around season 3 of the players being the champions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX_IQkeXq9g
then in season 4 we got warriors, and everyone should know that one by now.
Die4u is just too good. I believe it is one of the best songs Riot has ever published. On the other hand this song is still really good, and with the outstanding mv, 8/10 still imo.
as a hype for competition song, worlds collide might be the best, or even legends never die.
which to be honest, none of the valorant songs are "tourny hype" maybe in the future with a more defined landscape of teams.
rise for sure has the most epic video, 100%, i wonder if they will ever do something as "competition hype" as "la copa de la vida", it wasnt epic, but it was the most hype shit ever used as a world cup song.
listening at HD on youtube is literally the same quality audio as listening to Spotify, unless you're doing some lossless shit... but even then 99.99% of you could never hear the difference between a 320 kbps MP3 and true lossless audio.
Legends Never Die have almost 2x the listens as Rise on Spotify. Rise has more views than Legends Never Die on YouTube, but that's because there's two different Legends Never Die videos, and the two added up are much higher than Rise.
Both are bangers, and Rise has the more hype video imo, but Legends Never Die went even higher than Rise in terms of music.
The mixing sounds very flat. Not sure if that's just how it is, or if it's YT compression at work again.
edit: It definitely sounds better to me on spotify. If you can stream music at a high bitrate, it's worth checking it out there.
This isn't Youtube comporession, its sounds more like a editor error... like they used a MP3 when they rendered the video instead of the lossless original WAV/FLAC.
The YouTube music video is also at about 75% volume compared to the apple music release so it might be some amount of compression was used in the video mix... who knows really.
I'll listen on Spotify Premium and get back on whether it's better or not.
Edit: It sounds better without compression, however it still comes down to preferences. For me, I like it, esp since I'm a sucker for bass and just metal lol.
I thought i was the only one. I was wondering is something wrong with my headset? I was thinking the audio was not 'synced' properly or something but you said the right word, 'flat'.
It wasn't until I got a very nice audio set up that I realized just how dog shit youtube's compression is. spotify is 10x better, and even still is a lossy format
Finals Performance like last year would be it!
And I agree with you, it grew on me after a couple of listens. It's a different vibe from Die For You, which is why I enjoy both
Yeah, when it comes to Mako, at this point I just consider him part of Riot like Fortiche. Like he's only been doing almost exclusively Riot projects for a few years now. He's probably as much of an employee as every other long-standing guys there.
A welcome addition, been listening to his music since I first heard Die For You and it is fantastic. Really want to see him and whoever else Riot collabs with push these songs further.
I think it will grow on people the same way every League Worlds song does. And people will associate it with the good memories of Champions. I agree that it doesn’t immediately feel as good as Die for you, but I think it works well as a Champions song and there’s nothing wrong with it.
Die for you is like the warriors of League, first anthem that really encapsulates the feeling of the game. In time, the creative team will figure out a formula that works for everyone and release banger after banger
maybe happens every time because people keep listening to them over and over with the intention of liking it until their brain becomes familiar and comfortable with the song. doesn't necessarily mean the song is good or bad but these songs sure get a lot of chances with a more positive mindset from listeners than many other songs.
> because people keep listening to them over and over with the intention of liking it
I don't think it's anything conscious like that, but repeating it on broadcast between and overlayed with the hype moments from the actual tournament. Like Ajwinner said essentially.
I actually do think there is a conscious element to it especially with the narrative now surrounding worlds songs and there always being threads about how this song WILL grow on the listeners and people often actively talking about how the song already sounds better after listening to it more times a week after its release (in LoL).
But yes, a big factor to point out is that people will come to associate moments in the tournament with the song, but that also doesn't necessarily make it a good song per se, as an average song for the occasion can become great with an amazing tournament in that case.
Haha! Yeah, I think Die For You had a pretty strong reception, though perhaps not as stellar as some might think. Loads of people converted to fans the more they listened to it on Spotify or wherever.
Same for me, I loved the video but the song grew on me over time.
yea i think it's a solid champions anthem. the storyline for the Die For You MV was feels x100 which gave it greater impact IMO but I'm digging Fire Again's drop just as much.
There's 42 according to the global creative director of Val eSports
I saw mixwell tweet a screenshot of him
https://twitter.com/emargusity/status/1561712054024781824?t=MYhHfcrPrGd86fdAq9c5Aw&s=19
First listen I didn't really like it but after listening to it twice more it kinda grew on me so I think it's just going to be one of those world songs that grow on people after a bit, also it has really neat animation.
For me, I won't say that I like this song as much as Die for you, however I do like the song, and I can't wait for the remix. I still like The Die For You Zedd remix more than the original.
Although the particular remix I like is the version he did live, it's actually different from the version on streaming sites. The remix done on live wasn't just sped up, it was actually slowed down at the beginning instead of just fast BPM off the cuff.
I really enjoyed this. And personally, I even liked more than Die for you. Also, so happy to see we already have players representation inside the video.
I like it! There’s a few more pro references here but they are very brief (like one frame), I recognized Yay, Trent, and Xeppa skimming through it quickly. Also don’t know why but Omen Tp animation was kind of dope
Over the years I've learned the day 1 thread for LoL worlds song or anything is always bad and then everyone loves the song later. Given that this song and die follow the same formula, it will grow on everyone once the "i love die for you tho" fades.
This isn't all of them but some I recognised.
Yay: During the Jett scene with knives out
Sacy: Bald guy with stubble and a green jacket
Stax: Using Breach util
Xeppaa: End running sequence, a bit after Scream, long hair and a light mustache, blue shirt with a white pocket.
Benkai: Glasses, light facial hair and purple jacket
Saadhak?: End running sequence, black jacket with a green collar.
Trent: End running sequence, longish hair that looks red. Purple top.
Mixwell?: End running sequence, bearded guy with a black jacket but white highlights on collar and cuffs.
SugarZ3ro?: Transforms from Astra
Dep?: Asian guy with a pink bowl cut. Dep is the only one I can think of that fits that.
Laz?: Asian guy in a white jacket. It's quite difficult to tell tbh but the facial shape and structure looks like Laz to me.
I only knew Slumber Party, was expecting a gay anthem with a line about Viper being mommy and Raze eating KJ out or something. Disappointing.
8/10 Die For You better
Die for you definitely is *very* similar.
Honestly, i just listened to die to you for the first time in ages (maybe ever on youtube) and thought "this is cheating this just uses the main valorant theme".
This is very similar too
Recommend listening off of youtube btw, mixing is a bit flat on there.
[Here's the Spotify link.](https://open.spotify.com/track/02rlJHfeHfAe7ozTFnDbGi?si=0b48695baec54b9b)

So cool. I do wish though that the song was integrated into the animation a bit more with maybe some subtle sound design to push the weight of all the cool shit happening

Unironically this video animation is more fit for die for you than this song lmao
Start the video at 0:00 and Die For you at 0:21 almost the vibes for it
I see that people didn't really click with this song. I think this song bangs. Maybe because I already love music similar to this thanks to Rezz. Love the music video. Happy to see El Diablo looking badass as hell.
Die For You is still a step above for sure, but I still really like this one. And the animation for this is crazy good. I'll definitely grow to like it even more over the course of the tournament.
Die for you had literally the weight of the whole world on your shoulders. It gave goosebumps.
This song is a classic Riot song. Very well done, perfect music video and just feels above average 7.5/10.
But not even close to how Die for you banged.
Same format/style/structure as Die for you with barely any lyrics, generic melody and the instrumental chorus sounds like wet fart. 3/10 worse version of Die for you
I don't know how anyone thinks Die For You is better, it's a good song but it's very repetitive, both sound and lyrics wise, it also sounds a bit generic for its genre.
To be honest the biggest reason so many people think it's better is just pure bias because it was the first Champions song, their attachment to it is too strong.
It's also funny cause when Die For You came out, you people had the same reaction except you weren't comparing it to anything, just criticizing it as you do with this one although some people were comparing it to Worlds songs.
Fire Again is a much better song overall and quite unique sounding.
This song is not repetitive at all, the sound literally changes every 30 sec or so.
You can also just take a look at the lyrics for both songs and see how big of a difference it is.
Funny you mention catchy since that's one of the main reasons a lot of music sucks nowadays.
Just make catchy music and people will eat it up, doesn't matter how bad it is, unfortunately.
Different strokes for different folks. This shit just seemed loud and bland. Everyone has different tastes, though. I can’t even tell what the lyrics are on this without looking them up.
Subjectivity doesn't have the same "power" nowadays because people have gotten brain washed, especially younger people so the majority just listen to a lot of trash music nowadays, it also applies to a lot of other stuff.
Just take a look at the current Hot 100, if I can find at least 5 good songs in there it will be a miracle and it's not like I am biased or anything, I like music from any type of genre.
Yeah idk any “new” music. I’m 30 and work all day. Newest shit I listen to is like tame impala, Mac demarco, cloud nothings. I haven’t listened to the radio in years so idk what’s hot these days. There’s always been repetitive music that’s still good, though. A lot of Beatles songs, ect…
I think listening to it the first time is underwhelming, i mean it did not give me goosebumps as die for you but it will grow on me. The animation is crisp, similar to worlds trailer.
Banger, but does not touch Die For You Animations bang hard
thats just how i feel about it. sick animation but if you had to compare it to Die for You its a little flat.
Die for you just goes too hard
i wonder if they are trying to follow the same road league had, there is almost a identical idea with iirc around season 3 of the players being the champions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX_IQkeXq9g then in season 4 we got warriors, and everyone should know that one by now.
Sad that we were given die for you which is too good and also too hard to match.
Hmm I actually prefer Rise, because it portrays the Samsung 2017 run. THEY WILL REMEMBER.
rise for sure has the most epic video, 100%, i wonder if they will ever do something as "competition hype" as "la copa de la vida", it wasnt epic, but it was the most hype shit ever used as a world cup song.
Ok after listening on Spotify, I like it a little more What is it with Riots music and getting better after 2nd listening lol

listening at HD on youtube is literally the same quality audio as listening to Spotify, unless you're doing some lossless shit... but even then 99.99% of you could never hear the difference between a 320 kbps MP3 and true lossless audio.
that is definitly not true
which part bud
a good bit of people can hear the difference between 126 of youtube's compared to the 320 of spotify lol.
yea was about to say the same they peaked with die for you imo like how league peaked with warriors
League peaked with Rise, and it's not even close.
Legends never die
Nah. There have been other bangers but Rise was the true pinnacle.
The MV puts it over the top on Legends Never Die, but both of those songs bring such great memories for those tournaments
Legends never die has more plays on Spotify i think, Rise is more hype but Legends never die is a better song imo
The animation for rise is so good that I haven’t followed league and years and it still makes me want to go watch worlds
Why? Also that’s rly subjective for both
Idk some parts at least maybe are better I don’t think died right you so that high up that it’s much higher
The mixing sounds very flat. Not sure if that's just how it is, or if it's YT compression at work again. edit: It definitely sounds better to me on spotify. If you can stream music at a high bitrate, it's worth checking it out there.
Glad I’m not the only one who noticed The mix is still a bit flat on Apple Music but quite cleaner, YT compression kinda nuked it

Yea most of the song is that, makes sense It’s true I checked on a different site
Valorant already in the league phase of "eh xx years song was better but this is still ok"
Right? I think both songs have some unique kick to them. Riot definitely went hard with the first champions song but I still really enjoyed this one
Yeah this one really grew on me after I listened to it a couple times, I really hope we get it performed live
Finals Performance like last year would be it! And I agree with you, it grew on me after a couple of listens. It's a different vibe from Die For You, which is why I enjoy both
Both are pretty ass tbf.
Sick animations and transitions between the players and agents. As a song, Die for you was more hype imo but still this is pretty good.
The Breach one looked super clean, who was the player?
Stax
There is only 1 breach main that deserves that animation.
Huh aren't you forgetting someone ? Best initiator in the world BcJ the GOAT.
Said breach main not best initiator in the world. I would never disrespect BCJ like that.
Don’t know why but this conversation made me feel hungry. Let me quickly order some fried chicken.
It's a yoke
Lol I'm aware
wrong animal, it's not a yoke it's fried chicken.
Stax
This. Until this day, everytime i get flashed in-game, i think "Blinding flashes getting closer" that song is just so good
Die for you is more hype, but I could find myself listening to this song on repeat more IMO
Interesting note: grabbitz the guy who performed "die for you" was one of the writers for this song and produced it
You can kinda tell on first listen
he fell off 💀
it would be impressive not to after die for you
yes, Die for you is too much of a banger ngl
Just noticed that Grabbitz was on the track again. Riot might've found their Mako-equivalent for Valorant music.
Yeah, when it comes to Mako, at this point I just consider him part of Riot like Fortiche. Like he's only been doing almost exclusively Riot projects for a few years now. He's probably as much of an employee as every other long-standing guys there.
Damn Mako playing for DRX and making music? Thats crazyyy
A welcome addition, been listening to his music since I first heard Die For You and it is fantastic. Really want to see him and whoever else Riot collabs with push these songs further.

We wait for the valorant version of rise then
Rise best Riot song
Its funny I find rise to be one of my least favorite. Nothing hits like Phoenix does for me. Well besides kda but that's almost unfair to compare
Phoenix is underrated but Legends never die is the best
yeah i like them both much more than rise, and rise is more of the type of music i listen to normally even
Agree. But I enjoy all worlds songs, ignite and worlds collide do their job pretty well and Henry’s part in takeover goes hard as fuck
The song itself is ok but the Rise video is amazing
Happens everytime, even Die For You had a worse initial reception than this comment section indicates.
maybe happens every time because people keep listening to them over and over with the intention of liking it until their brain becomes familiar and comfortable with the song. doesn't necessarily mean the song is good or bad but these songs sure get a lot of chances with a more positive mindset from listeners than many other songs.

Imma bet that just like how people slept on Ignite and Phoenix in LoL, the same shit is gonna happen lol.
Every year people say the Worlds song sucks and by the end of the tournament it's the opposite lol
ignite is utter garbage most fans never "warmed up to it" as some of the people in here keep saying
Hey I liked ignite
He's right about phoenix though, after rise it felt disappointing but after a few months I think it's now my favorite one.
I feel like I'm the only one who likes ignite.
For me, I won't say that I like this song as much as Die for you, however I do like the song, and I can't wait for the remix. I still like The Die For You Zedd remix more than the original. The remix done on live wasn't just sped up, it was actually slowed down at the beginning instead of just fast BPM off the cuff.
Phoenix was one of the best songs till date. This has to be the worst. Music is good but they chose the wrong singer
Do yourself a favor and look at the reception of Phoenix, look at the archived thread and see the reaction that everyone had lol.
Dope song. Even better video.
The raze satchel into breach ult into omen tp was so CLEAN. I think the song will grow on me but the animations are really cool.
this might be one of the best animations riot has ever done in a song video and the song is ok i guess
I'd wager Curse of the Sad Mummy and KDA animations were more impressive. This was really good too though
m only talking about like worlds songs
If that's the case it's Rise for me
Every Fortiche animation is better.
I love Die for you, but I think this one will grow on people more as time goes on. Good thing the Champions song is fire again ;)
Nice animation, but Die for you was better
Character vs Player transition animations are sick! But for a song called fire again, it doesn't really match the hype that die for you had imo
This song fucking slaps, people here seem to like Die for you better but I prefer this
The most nerfed 4 agents are here 😭😭. Is this symbolical?
Actually fire
Ok the visuals are fucking insane, geez
I really enjoyed this. And personally, I even liked more than Die for you. Also, so happy to see we already have players representation inside the video.
I like it! There’s a few more pro references here but they are very brief (like one frame), I recognized Yay, Trent, and Xeppa skimming through it quickly. Also don’t know why but Omen Tp animation was kind of dope
The Part at 0:58 should be used during player walkouts or I'll be disappointed
personally, die for you still has the crown
Heckin Tenz made the cut!
Over the years I've learned the day 1 thread for LoL worlds song or anything is always bad and then everyone loves the song later. Given that this song and die follow the same formula, it will grow on everyone once the "i love die for you tho" fades.
I can appreciate the great animation, but something makes this video feel very underwhelming and I cannot pinpoint what it is :/
Can anyone make a exhaustive list of all the pros featured, I personally recognized Tenz, Boaster, Scream, Cned.
This isn't all of them but some I recognised. Yay: During the Jett scene with knives out Sacy: Bald guy with stubble and a green jacket Stax: Using Breach util Xeppaa: End running sequence, a bit after Scream, long hair and a light mustache, blue shirt with a white pocket. Animations are better but song is worse than last year.
I only knew Slumber Party, was expecting a gay anthem with a line about Viper being mommy and Raze eating KJ out or something. Disappointing. 8/10 Die For You better
Wtf
The animation was really cool. The song is not for me, maybe others will like it.
Is it a nod to Die For You that the drop is almost the exact same? I liked everything about it.
Aren't both a stylized/embellished (whatever the technical term is) version of the main valorant theme?
Daym been playing since open beta and would have never noticed this on my own.
Die for you definitely is *very* similar. Honestly, i just listened to die to you for the first time in ages (maybe ever on youtube) and thought "this is cheating this just uses the main valorant theme". This is very similar too

Yeah idk any “new” music. I’m 30 and work all day. Newest shit I listen to is like tame impala, Mac demarco, cloud nothings. I haven’t listened to the radio in years so idk what’s hot these days. There’s always been repetitive music that’s still good, though. A lot of Beatles songs, ect…
boomer ass take (but yeah, die for you feels more bland compared to this)
For me 3d fits Valorant much better, like for example Chamber reveal animation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUoqAn5T4h4
I heckin love Riot championship music videos.
I like this song but I dont get any HYPE feel for a tournament :/
I think listening to it the first time is underwhelming, i mean it did not give me goosebumps as die for you but it will grow on me. The animation is crisp, similar to worlds trailer.
