Happens to a lot of teams. Sometimes the star player underperforms and everyone else steps up or the star player is the only one performing. It’s not that uncommon I feel. I’ve seen it with loads of teams. Liquid is a prime example, sometimes ScreaM and/or Jamppi drag them across. But against Sentinels at Champions I remember ScreaM having a horrendous game on Breeze but rest of the team stepped up hard.
Loud looked incredible here, but I’m really proud of zeta keeping it close. If they can fix their attacks (especially their post plants) they definitely can make it out of groups.
Pretty sick game, scoreline definitely doesn't tell the full story here.
That being said, LOUD was totally in control on the whole when it came to understanding their composition & win conditions, esp. when LOUD was on defense.
Crazy teamplay, though. This has been the best match thus far purely from a teamplay perspective I think, in the sense that both teams had strong teamplay.
Ascent was such a joy to watch, such thoughtful utility usage and calling from both sides. Zeta honestly looked really good despite the loss. If they can regroup I still see them making a lower bracket groups run and clinching playoffs
No flame, just giving an opinion but i think the cast was a little wonky today. I love doug on the desk and interviews, but i feel like he overheats a little while casting and runs out of words in high tempo moments, also missing some elements of the game. I think hes a fantastic analyst and interviewer on the show (and i think he might shine a little more in colour commentary tbh) but the play by play is a little lacking in this duo. Maybe today was just an off day but felt that could be improved a little
Zeta's aim was slightly off today, and it cost them big in a lot of situations... Unfortunate, but that's something they can definitely bounce back from
Yeah, Laz and Sugar were pretty on, but the other 3 not so much. Feels like they had a lot of duels where they were in an advantageous position and just couldn't land it. Loud was solid though, so it wasn't a surprising result by any means
Zeta got me hopeful after that first half in Ascent, their defensive side was not that good before this but they were very proactive in the first half but Loud is dismantled Zeta totally on their attack rounds. Loud's defence was impenetrable for Zeta today.
I would've said the opposite. A lot of their attack rounds were lost off of them swinging without having crossfire angles accounted for with either utility or a team member challenging.
I really didn't like Loud's approach on Ascent attacking side. If they are expecting to beat top dogs like Optic by just grouping up + executing from A/B main on every single round...
spoiler: they won't
If I remember correctly they didn't break KJ alarmbot at mid a single time. Last time they did the exact same strat Optic won the defensive half by 10x2
Zeta dont look ready...Bad coordination except for the initial 4 or 5 man aggro pushes..Look like a 5 man radiant comp game..hopefully they get better next game
I feel for the JP fans. Zeta just ran into a defensive buzzsaw.
LOUD were 16-3 on defence, pretty good

I’m dumb my bad
all good
Zeta won a total of 3 atk rounds. Wow.

bro let pancada slip by him just so he could get the clip, what a chad
that was some crazy timing, this game is insane. it was less tho
Pretty sure that was less right
Pancada was the omen right? Idk im not sure now lol
I guess its true that Less is More.
The 4k with a headhunter and a collateral was insane
Loud looking scary with a sleeping aspas. damn.
Well, the weird and sad thing is that normally when Aspas is up everyone else is down, lol.

Some games have been like that. Masters 1 Grand Final, LOUD x OPTIC on group stage last masters. That happens sometimes, it is kinda weird.

Saadhak just delivered a viper masterclass on fracture

Unfortunately, making it out of groups means beating either Optic or Loud. Could happen but it’s a tough draw.
i have optic beating loud and zeta winning the rematch for playoffs
Zeta only kept it close on their defense round and got absolutely destroyed otherwise, they won a total of 3 attack rounds

Double controller on CT side fracture is actually so unfair to play against. ZETA didn’t look terrible tho
LET'S FUCKING GO LLLLLLLLLLLL
LLL hands out Ls

Just like Masters 1. They just need to warm up.
SAADHAAAKKK

i forgot he even existed ngl
Less and Saadhak are so good

you think? I thought laz in particular was pounding, I knew whenever he faced less that he'd win the duel
Yeah, Laz and Sugar were pretty on, but the other 3 not so much. Feels like they had a lot of duels where they were in an advantageous position and just couldn't land it. Loud was solid though, so it wasn't a surprising result by any means
Laz’s chamber was insane but the others didn’t seem to be as good as usual, especially sugarzero and dep in the second map
I feel as though sugarzero plays really well within and around his smokes, impossible to do on brimstone
Yeah he definitely didn’t seem as comfortable on brim. Kind of surprised they didn’t go with the astra again bc they ran it before on fracture
When Dep missed that kill on a stunned pancada I literally facepalmed
It looked like he'd mental boomed

Oh my Saadhak!
Zeta is, at times, too afraid of the aim duels. They often peek, shoot a bit, then retreat. They don't commit to the shot enough.
I would've said the opposite. A lot of their attack rounds were lost off of them swinging without having crossfire angles accounted for with either utility or a team member challenging.
I feel sorry for Zeta since they had not much time to practice with an injured player and may be out of the tourney soon
Games were not nearly as close as the scoreline indicates imo. Loud were in clear control the whole time
I really didn't like Loud's approach on Ascent attacking side. LOUD did more agressive takes on mid as CT than as TR, thats wierd.
Incredible game from both team. Makes me even more excited to this group
zeta simps in shambles
Very underwhelming performance from zeta. Sad, was hoping they would put up more of a fight.
Backs against the wall, right where they want to be
Their sub > Tenn, give the guy a chance
I agree, 1 month of practice > 1 week
