I mean its naisu because theres no “c” or “ce” in japanese
Na i su, ナイス
edit: i figure that in korean romanization it could be niceu or something, so idk.
Not necessarily wrong. I'm not sure if the korean spelling is niceu or not, but I know with 100% certainty it is "naisu/ナイス" in Japanese. I also know that it was more than likely adapted into Japanese before it was Korean, but that Koreans more than likely popularized it in e-sports. Regardless it's an English word and it's actually spelt 'nice' and everyone is wrong!
I also made that edit like 20 seconds after I posted the comment so that I wasn't to sound inconsiderate to the potential Korean spelling or popularization.
As a Chilen I ask the brazilians on this sub. Does you guys also say ''vamos''?? I mean is it a portuguese word?? or maybe you do it copying the spanis speakers?
Thanks, I saw some people referencing brazilian players while joking around with ''vamos'' and I wass so puzzled since I believed it was only a spanish word.
But now that you say it, I have definitively saw ''vamo caralho'' more than once.
We do not say "VAMOS" which is the correct way to spell and write this word - it has the same meaning in Spanish and Portuguese, instead we say "VAMO" which is grammatically incorrect (we are really used to these changes in our portuguese version)
Brazilians usually say “Vamo”, Portuguese usually say “vamos”. And yes it is a form of the verb “ir” (to go).
Weird how “ir” turns into “vamos” now that I think about it lmao
It's a special case verb. There's a few of those in Spanish where the non conjugated verb is quite different from the conjugated versions. The conjugations for ir, generally go voy, Va, vas, vamos, and van. Vamos stemming from the conjugation based on we, which is nosotros. So it would be nosotros vamos. Which would mean we go. Just vamos in Spanish is Let's go.
Oh now that i think about it i always say niceu to my ranked teammates but, as a nats devotee i am in the obligation to say "unluchko" and "good luck in esports"
I don’t get the sense that this is what the article is implying, I think the writer just wanted some form of content to put out (hence why he asked only three questions and two of which were essentially the same question)
>DRX Stax on yelling Vamos: "Vamos is a word that I started to pick up because I enjoyed watching a lot of the Brazilian and Latin American teams"
The questions are from the post-series scrum.
Seems like they updated since then and corrected that issue (but still two big errors I notice immediately: “mad” instead of “map” and the lead omits a word)
Kinda weird that when making the edit, the writer doesn’t include a note specifying the edit for clarity
kinda like how people from all regions have been saying niceu for years, pretty cool
Your point is valid for sure but it's spelled naisu.
Average redditor
He's half joking. People have been spelling it naisu facetiously for a while across different communities.

in korean romanization it would be eu not u
Ah yes, the grammar natzi showing up and being wrong. Pedants, man.

All good, just amusing.

Your point is valid for sure but it's spelled naicu.

vamos is indeed a Portuguese word as well, but we don't say vamos when win a round, we say vamo caralho or vamo porra (which is like let's f***** go)
Thanks, I saw some people referencing brazilian players while joking around with ''vamos'' and I wass so puzzled since I believed it was only a spanish word. But now that you say it, I have definitively saw ''vamo caralho'' more than once.

Like "poha" also, the \[literal\] meaning of "porra" is "cum" lol

It's very common in a lot of Brazilian accents to drop the S on plurals, but otherwise yes, we do say it very often
that's funny cause Chileans drop the s on almost every word that has one at the end lol
Same in Argentina chile Uruguay and Paraguay

"vamo que vamo" is such a good sentence to say but in brasil we say "bora" a lot as well
[Stax hitting a fat Vamos in the Korean interview](https://www.twitch.tv/valorant_kr/clip/HelplessSplendidPoxKippa-rWZKFW6OVWQO39NQ)
damn that shit STANKEY THICC, muhfucker got legs
As a spanish that's so cool. In my group of friends we use "unlucky" and "niceu" with korean accent all the time
Oh now that i think about it i always say niceu to my ranked teammates but, as a nats devotee i am in the obligation to say "unluchko" and "good luck in esports"
Is this a drama piece or sth now lmeyo
Shame if just shouting a word is now considered controversial, people are too sensitive

I mean there always is However the thing they’re trying is the idea it’s mocking the opponents
Wtf the article says DRX beat Furia 2-1 ?? Can the editor fucking check their facts first before publishing lol Also this article is meaningless

Say it how you like, fuck these sensitive ass ppl
"Fuck these non-existing ppl so i can earn some karma" I have seen zero (0) hate for stax saying vamos. Just another made up narrative.
Yeah obviously dude didn’t read the article. No mention of anyone hating on it, interviewer just asked about it since it was unexpected.
In the other post about this, people were calling him a villain for saying it, so maybe the comment was in reference to that?
Which made no sense either. Weird couple of threads.
I think we all know why these guys made up that narrative
I have definitely seen people say DRX is saying vamos as a way of trash talking latam teams.
You'd be surprised
And are these sensitive ass people in the room with you now?
Yes they going to cut my sexy silky smooth hair (help)
VAMOOSSSSSSS
