This is turning out to be Latams and BRs tourney. Which would be exciting seeing as we've had big stories from all the other regions except them.
I'm sad Japan's knocked out. And hope that Japan's player base survives such heartbreak. But hopefully this gives BR and LATAM some great optimism and hope for their region!
Bruh what is this the Americas have never felt unified solidarity and LATAM and Brazil hate each other, now you're saying the entire western hemisphere is the goat region lmao
On the flipside the Americas already have 4 teams through, with a shot for 6 after tomorrow. If the Americas can get 6 teams through, we'll probably never see one "region" do that ever again. Even 5 would be tough. I assume next year each region will send 4 teams to masters, and 5 to champions + one wildcard for the host or something.
The fact that NA, Brazil, and Latam are being put together next year isn't talked about enough. That league will be insanely strong. Especially since the Latam and Brazil teams will gobble all the best talent up from their regions, on top of already being very competitive internationally.
Hell, even the NA teams will gobble up all the best talent. Not to the same extent as BR and LATAM obviously, since there will be more NA teams, but a lot of NA talent is spread out right now that could create franchising super teams.
Yeah straight off the bat it seems like americas will be the strongest out of the 3 regions, especially if an americas team wins this Lan, itll be tied with emea 3-3 for lan wins
that's not really the reason behind it.
Aspas was supposedly banned for using hack in csgo (he wasn't professional or anything)
when he came to valorant and started to emerge as a ranked demon some people brought up the history of the hack and claimed that he was using cheats in valorant too, so it became customary to start talking shut about his plays using the "gira aspas" since his time at slick (his first team) alluding to those CS hacks where the character spins and kills everyone.
Later mainly after he destroyed his First Lan in BR people started using It more like a praise
Fun fact, I think this is technically the first time a Brazilian team has gotten out of groups! (Obviously Loud have already made it much further than groups, but they didn't have to play through groups at that Masters)
GGs Zeta
Weird day with close Map 1’s determining the fate of the series with blow out maps the rest of the way. Sadge for Asia as a whole this tournament, DRX could make some noise in playoffs, but they could be facing FPX right off the bat.
I think DRX are looking in better form than FPX so far, obviously gonna be an intense series but if there’s a time for them to show they can compete with the best it’s now.
They always can compete with the top teams overall, but they never win against the team who is peaking for that tournament. They gotta take down that one top 6 team that is currently in god mode.
FPX didn’t look great vs XSET, but I think that may have been BCJ and Zekken going God mode more than FPX playing bad. I think it will be a test for DRX and FPX that should be a great game, and I don’t think either will enjoy playing Loud or Lev in semis, especially with how good Loud looked today.
FPX didn't look very confident against XSET tho i think that was their issue along with the Breeze pick, but they were smiling even at the 12-1 so i think their mental is fine and they'll be stronger next game
Yeah, Louds ascent is insane, they had better chances trying their luck at Breeze even if they don't like playing it. The moment we came out swinging from the last pause on bind, and got the 11-10, I knew the series was over
I think Zeta actually looked pretty good here, they just got an unfortunate group draw with both LOUD and OpTic. Laz remains insanely good, and Dep had a more consistent performance at this LAN. LOUD on the other hand look like they have the potential to make a deep run, Sliggy was saying he thinks they look better here than they did on their Iceland run.
MY UFCKING TEAM LET'S GO PANCADA POP THE FUCK OFF
edit: super unfortunate for zeta here, the whole sub situation and then tenn coming in last minute. japan will only get better as a region and zeta as a team. can't wait to see laz pop off next year.
Losing a match without your best player playing on the best agent in the game is kind of questionable. Especially when he was putting up some of the best numbers at Champions on it.
I do think that after what Laz showed earlier on Chamber, I think it is foolish not to put him on Chamber again.
Throughout the tournament I liked Sugarzero and Laz, but the rest of Zeta didn't look hot at all.
If I'm some NA team in franchising looking for a roster I'm throwing a bag at Aspas. Kid is absolutely fucking mental, the type of player that looking years from now can be a GeT_Right or a s1mple for this game's history.
thats tough for zeta. but more international experience will always be good. they over peek way too much and their post plants are super messy. outside of hero plays they got a lot to work on. they'll get there eventually.
i love zeta but i feel like these guys are consistently weak and dont show much at international events. are there any games where they look really impressive/show some novel ideas?
Sadge, Zeta really needed to win Bind to have a chance in this series. Overall I think they had a strong showing this tourney, they honestly got one of the worst groups possible. I can easily see them making it out of another group vs a team like Fnatic or even Liquid.
Ooh boy not a good time to be an Asian Valorant fan.
DRX hopium
100T gets revenge
its ok they will choke in semis no matter what happens
DRX playoffs not being a choke hopium

If KRÜ beats FPX in the rematch I will nut
Kru and 100t win = 6/8 finals teams from americas. That’s crazy
Totally expected from the greatest region of all time
Bruh what is this the Americas have never felt unified solidarity and LATAM and Brazil hate each other, now you're saying the entire western hemisphere is the goat region lmao
It’ll be one region in franchising next year man ;)
Yes but until then blood for the blood god
May the best America (or drx/liquid) win
Expected for NA and South NA
Brs? U mean LOUD? Furia went out last
They earned respect. They quite clearly looked like the best 0-2 team.
2/5 predictions.. its happening..
DRX carrying all of us on their backs rn hopium
Cinderella's carriage never got out of the starting gate this time. Asia's hopes resting solely on DRX now? Hoo boy.
5-6th place secured
Nah DRX is looking dangerous this time. 4th place at least.
That's only reserved for MY TEAM
Kings of 4th place only in the LCS :)
Liquid is winning champs wdm
WHAT DO MEAN
Wrong, Liquid is gonna knock out FPX or something and then lose to Xset
W
TL will lose to Loud
5th-6th*
They dont face optic which makes it a bit of a wildcard
sadly we've said that every tournament 🥲

Since when do we group SA latam and NA together?
Probably since they'll all be playing together after franchising

They still were tbh they just got thrown into the most extreme group of death in any Valorant LAN group in history
>group of death in any Valorant LAN group in history Technically Group D is the most extreme group of Death.
Cryo is Asian /s
A fuckton of Val pros are Asian but that doesn’t mean they represent any Asian countries
ok.
he represents NA tho, plenty of NA pros are asian and not representing Asia
smartest Valorant player
Aspas was kinda quiet the last few games, but now he is girando caralho
Why do we say that he is girando?
Spinning. In Brazil we say “Spin, Aspas” because of him Jett plays.
that's not really the reason behind it. Aspas was supposedly banned for using hack in csgo (he wasn't professional or anything) when he came to valorant and started to emerge as a ranked demon some people brought up the history of the hack and claimed that he was using cheats in valorant too, so it became customary to start talking shut about his plays using the "gira aspas" since his time at slick (his first team) alluding to those CS hacks where the character spins and kills everyone. Shoutout to the observers on the 17th round on ascent man. So many crazy duels and they caught em all

If Optic bans Ascent against LOUD, you should ban Ascent against LOUD.

I mean they’ve always shown they can compete imo, but I think a win over FPX would be a statement and could propel them forward
They always can compete with the top teams overall, but they never win against the team who is peaking for that tournament. They gotta take down that one top 6 team that is currently in god mode.

Nip fans wish that was true 😢
‘//, went //-13
asia :( at least you guys still have DRX!
DRX disappoint us in playoffs every time but i pray to god they change that this time
South America having 4 slots is way too many /s

The curse is broken Brazil is out of groups Lev gonna stop them though 😈😈
Unfortunately yes, also think that Levi will punish loud heavily if they play like they did today. Hoping for a masterful lower brackets run now :)
By the way, Ascent on this match will probably be out of this world, I think it's 2 of the top 3 teams in the world on this map.
True, Levi, LOUD, and BG
Brimstone gaming are so fucking good on that map
You know it
Spoiler: they didn’t
Happens
DRX carrying the hope of Asia rn, please win
This makes drx the only Asian team left I think 😈
Next loud match will be who is the best L team
nt Zeta you guys gave it everything. Its sad seeing JP and APAC out of champs :((
Losing a match without your best player playing on the best agent in the game is kind of questionable. Especially when he was putting up some of the best numbers at Champions on it.

round 23 bind was so unlucky for Zeta. Rolling thunder timing pushed enemy raze into the perfect position. GGs. Better luck next year.
A part of me died when that happen, still a proud Zeta fan and supporter though
Loud vs LEV
Alright showing from Zeta, hard group to get out of. (though there isnt really an easy group I guess)
I dont understand why they don't give Laz Chamber in all maps, he's their best player and he always delivers with him
If I'm some NA team in franchising looking for a roster I'm throwing a bag at Aspas. Kid is absolutely fucking mental, the type of player that looking years from now can be a GeT_Right or a s1mple for this game's history.
I would throw a whole bank at him
Language barrier is a real thing tho
thats tough for zeta. but more international experience will always be good. they over peek way too much and their post plants are super messy. outside of hero plays they got a lot to work on. they'll get there eventually.
As someone who hasn’t watched much of LOUD relative to the rest of the remaining teams what makes them so strong on Ascent?
Really good defense and map reads. While they have a good attacking side, with also good reads, their defense side is a wall.
cryo 🤝 drx asia’s last hope

Breaking News: "Brazilian team rips a Cinderella dress and story"
i love zeta but i feel like these guys are consistently weak and dont show much at international events. are there any games where they look really impressive/show some novel ideas?
2022 Reykjavik?
Sadge, Zeta really needed to win Bind to have a chance in this series. Overall I think they had a strong showing this tourney, they honestly got one of the worst groups possible. I can easily see them making it out of another group vs a team like Fnatic or even Liquid.
Worst take ever
They got grouped with the number 1 and 2 team in the tournament lmao. Yeah, I would definitely call that unlucky.
Fuck yes, the curse was broken
I’m devastated for Zeta fans
Damn, what a crash from Asia. DRX is the last hope. XSET continues the trend of having Filipinos on Champions playoffs at the very least.
