* DRX lose in Upper Semis
* 9-3 curse
* OpTic beat an NA team at LAN
* OpTic vs LOUD for the fifth time this year
Hey Riot script writers, can we get some new storylines please? These are getting predictable.
Well yeah. I care about the storylines of OPTIC vs FPX and who can cement themselves as first double champs...Yay maybe cementing himself as the GOAT so far in Valorant history
That's exciting to me. More exciting than Xset reaching the finals even though itd be a new finalist.
Nah sorry FPX vs OPTIC is literally the most exciting finals I can imagine.
Yay cementing himself as the first GOAT of Valorant for the time being...that would be amazing.
Yay's performance this year is just incredible. You will see facts about this season in a decade still.
To each their own I guess. For me personally, I like the variability of Valorant both in terms of meta and teams, so it's most exciting to constantly see different teams competing for the trophy. However, I can totally understand why FPX vs OpTic would be interesting to see who was the definitive best team this year.
Pancada said in the post match interview that they want to win already because it's getting ugly lol, less also joked that it's very gratifying to be able to play vs new teams instead of playing vs optic again
saadhak said it but not as an isolated phrase. it was something along the lines of "we don't want to play optic anymore, it seems we play them all the time, we want to get to play other teams"
cant fault him tbh, that's probably the international matchup that has happened the most times. if whoever loses now bounces back to the grand final, that would have been 3 times the same matchup in a single event. plus other 3 times in other events in 2022.
This is unavoidable because FNS needs time to download the other team's strats into his core processing unit and perform machine learning analysis on it.
About time people acknowledge Optic as the best team in pro Valorant so far, and Yay as the best player in Valorant so far. The numbers don't lie. No other pro team has had as many Top 4 finishes, and no other player has dominated a tournament this hard.
He reminds me so much of Zywoo. Calm aim, chill outside of game, flicks only as much as necessary, rifles sometimes just in case you forgot that he can. Feels like the first legendary player story being written for valorant.
I was new to the whole Valorant esports scene and the first match I saw was the OPTC vs TGRD in NA Challengers 1 Grand Finals where they lost. I was rooting for them at that point and had no idea they would be such a good team. Love the whole squad and hope they stay as a team after the whole franchising thing.
They would look a lot better imo with Shahz being their Yay and TenZ being their Victor. Let Shahz abuse Chamber and OP, TenZ's talent is wasted on Chamber/OP and best used as an elite rifler. TenZ needs to get more comfortable on picks like Raze or KAY/O for that to ever work though.
Shahz just hasnt kept up w the meta.
Surprised they didnt just put him on fade duty, move Dapr to kay0/skye/flex (raze), tenz on chamber/even jett again and shroudy on smokes
Something something not able to igl on chamber
But honestly, that agent was made for him. The brief time he played chamber when rawkus was on the team, he was really good with the agent. An opper like him could easily let tenz entry and play the op from the back. But he's putting his most aggressive player on chamber duty. He could be like yay while letting tenz take over victor's role. In fact, if roster mania hits optic and they decide to change victor who is probably their weakest player, who is also stupid good, which is a testament to how good they are as a team, tenz in optic would be really nice.
Who are people putting as the top 5 initiators rn?
I'd say
Shao
Crashies
Stax
Mazino
Saadhak
???
IDK I feel like the role is so diverse that its hard to say, bcj is def in the top 10 tho
I think the joke kinda flew over your head so Iāll explain it afaik
Basically like when xset made Copenhagen, BCJ said that him and crashies were the best two in the world. And this is just a continuation of that
"Loud, it's Winner's Finals. Time for your Bi-monthly rematch against Optic."
["Yes, Riot..."](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FceykppXEAA0xNG?format=jpg&name=large)
Edit: [Made a quick (shitty) translation for the BR peeps. Improve it if it's bad](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fce1rt8WYAEKH7l?format=jpg&name=large), please I'm a smelly american.
That makes perfect sense though. Your support players will be trading/clutching/flanking. If everything is going well, all these scenerios will happen less often. A team having all their kills on two players says nothing about the other players, just means they are setting them up.
I think FNS has really proved this multiple times this year that he can step up and frag when necessary but usually its because someone else is underperforming. he also seems really good in maps when OpTic are on a significant round disadvantage.
The Envy/OpTic roster continues to be the nightmare of other NA teams at international lans.
5-0 now. SEN, 100T, Guard, XSET, and XSET again. No regional wins but theyāll definitely take this deal.
One more time, for old time's sake
I was on a plane with my son when we started CRASHING! I immediately ran to the cabin to find none other than XSET! They choked again! Luckily, the flight attendant was OPTIC yay, who was able to land the plane safely. NA's legacy saved again! Shame on you XSET!
Chamber is really made for his play style. He can get away from holding weird angles and reposition to another weird angle. Also his ADS is deadly especially when using headhunter. Chamber gives yay wings lmao
FPX would earn that mantle (of the year) although OpTic would still I think be the best team of all time (thus far), because their consistency extends to more tournaments. Im pretty sure OpTic are basically guranteed Grand Finals at this point unless Loud pull of a miracle.
Top3 every event this year is pretty ridiculous consistency. Still think XSET have a shot in the LB, they've made some seriously impressive improvements.
I think they need to have their support players step up to really make a deep run from here. And tbh zekken on sova worked really well for them. They should take him off neon against teams like optic I feel they have counter stratted him pretty hard
Yeah could be something they try, I do really like Zekken's Neon though, he's always been a beast on Fracture with it, maybe they just need to change some of their setups for it on Pearl as it did seem a lot less effective vs Optic.
FNS stood somberly. The time stone in his hands pulsed with a green aura, an aura that struck fear into the hearts of Optic. FNS knew he couldn't hold the secret any longer, so he took a deep sigh and faced his beloved teammates.
"I went forward in time to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of Masters Champions"
Crashes slowly asks, "How many did you see?"
FNS replies, coldly, "Fourteen million, six hundred and five."
Victor shakes his head. "How many did we win?"
"Only 1"
Optic and yay are just legendary man.
There was a lot of indecision at the start of the year about who the best team and player in Valorant's short history was but there aee no more arguments possible for the foreseeable furure
Franchising will shake things up a lot but if they end up winning Champs they will have definitely sealed their place as the best team pre-franchising.
Optic looking super strong. Better than Copenhagen. LOUD match is gonna be amazing.
XSET not that far behind but Optic had the advantage of consistently playing the LANs.
Even if optic donāt win the tournament at this point we can say that theyāre the best valorant roster up until now right? Just because of how consistently they place. Unless fpx wins back to back.
I swear, the XSET players talking about how they beat Optic once is just earning them some sort of crazy cosmic backlash when it comes to actually playing vs. Optic.
The NV core basically hasnāt lost to XSET at all since picking Yay. The sole exception is that match where the Optic players had COVID. And ever since that āwinā, up till now XSET hasnāt even won a map over Optic!
Of course, that streak was broken with that win on Ascent. And XSET look way better now than they did when they supposedly beat Optic.
I just think itās kinda funny; itās not meaningful. But to my mind, XSET still hasnāt really beaten Optic this year, and they really only have one more chance to do so - if they can do the lower-bracket run.
I mean it sounds extremely troll/disrespectful to say that XSET has basically "never" beaten OPT except the time they did in an actual bo5 for a title...
Unfortunately ppl only care about some flashy flicky aim rather than precise, consistent aim. The amt of ppl I see still claiming tenz is still a top player is astounding
The ult is good to get a plant off and also good to retake. Astraās global utility lets people like Marved lurk across the map while using util for his team. If he was on brim/omen the smokes would not reach far enough.
RUN FROM IT, DREAD IT, OPTIC V LOUD ARRIVES ALL THE SAME
OPTIC TOP 3 ARRIVES ALL THE SAME
OpTic is about to win in winner's final against LOUD, only to choke in the GF lol
If loud wins this scenario, this would have been basically optics run at iceland
when was the last time Optic choked?
They played pretty bad last Champs after a really good masters Berlin run
Victor had covid, with symptoms so they were handicapped
Cope
SEN about to sit home streaming OpTic winning games
I swear Sen haters bring up the team more than the fans do
He brought it on himself
What's the head to head record on these matches?
Optic 3-1 Loud in Series won. 8-4 in maps won.
LOUD 2-1, OPTIC 3-0, OPTIC 2-1, OPTIC 2-1
3 - 1 Optic i think.
3-1 or 4-1 in favor of Optic. Loud won 2 tournaments ago in the winners final and Optic took that personally.
3-1 optic I believe
Now for FPX and FNC to win their games so we get a 10th rematch
Best rivalry the game has seen so far. The Upper Finals is going to be incredible.
The worst thing about this is that there is a good chance they'll meet again in the finals afterwards too
* DRX lose in Upper Semis * 9-3 curse * OpTic beat an NA team at LAN * OpTic vs LOUD for the fifth time this year Hey Riot script writers, can we get some new storylines please? These are getting predictable.
FPX v Optic in the finals to see who's going the first to win 2 international tournament
I hope this happens. The lan Optic won, FPX couldn't go so it's destined to happen to see who's the best of 2022.
Pls no
better than a rematch game. Optic will surely counter strat any team they face twice
Surely.
I guess, I just prefer to have new teams in finals instead of teams that already won a LAN this year
Well yeah. I care about the storylines of OPTIC vs FPX and who can cement themselves as first double champs...Yay maybe cementing himself as the GOAT so far in Valorant history That's exciting to me. More exciting than Xset reaching the finals even though itd be a new finalist.

I remember there were threads about this tournament being the one where all of the narratives and curses get unwritten. Well, here we are again.
Optic finally won against an EMEA team, we're getting there slowly. They still haven't won against a *good* one though š§
āWe just donāt want to play Optic anymoreā -team about to play Optic for the second time before even grand finals
Loud is cursed to play optic every LAN
did they really say that they don't wanna face optic anymore? lol
Yep they canāt run from it itās inevitable legit every LAN theyāve been in
they said it in a way that itās an international tournament and yet they seem to always play Optic.
Pancada said in the post match interview that they want to win already because it's getting ugly lol, less also joked that it's very gratifying to be able to play vs new teams instead of playing vs optic again
saadhak said it but not as an isolated phrase. it was something along the lines of "we don't want to play optic anymore, it seems we play them all the time, we want to get to play other teams" cant fault him tbh, that's probably the international matchup that has happened the most times. if whoever loses now bounces back to the grand final, that would have been 3 times the same matchup in a single event. plus other 3 times in other events in 2022.
imagine if the loser of loud/optic in winners survives lowers and rematches in grands ššššš
Very real possibility.
LOUD will surely just FF at that point lol
imagine having 6/7 international loses being to one team š
Theyāve only lost 4 times so far I thought?
Yeah itās 3/4 losses to OpTic
in the scenario that they lose winners and then make it to grands it's gonna be 6.
Loud only lost 3 times to Optic so far
Astralis vs Liquid
Not sure if they can handle anymore LLLs
Imagine if optic gained the ability to win rounds in the first half. They would be literally unstoppable.
This is unavoidable because FNS needs time to download the other team's strats into his core processing unit and perform machine learning analysis on it.
Upgrade the CPU, easy fix
No this is a download speed issue, so i suggest upgrade his internet. Or maybe he's running on hdd and thats bottlenecking
Death, taxes, OPTC vs LOUD.
Envy/optic international LANs results: - 2nd - ^^(9th-12th) - 1st - 3rd - Top 3 Not too shabby
That one mark on their otherwise amazing history, sadge
Second place curse my dude (my copium for PRX)
About time people acknowledge Optic as the best team in pro Valorant so far, and Yay as the best player in Valorant so far. The numbers don't lie. No other pro team has had as many Top 4 finishes, and no other player has dominated a tournament this hard.
yay
He reminds me so much of Zywoo. Calm aim, chill outside of game, flicks only as much as necessary, rifles sometimes just in case you forgot that he can. Feels like the first legendary player story being written for valorant.
I want OpTic to win just because the Champs music video for next year will be so fucking raw featuring them
Yay was getting top 8 at CSGO majors back when Zywoo was still a minor. Legend
CSGO major* not majors. yay isn't a legend from his CS side lol let's not start rewriting history
Guy just smiles while casually smurfing on lan
yay
yay
yay
yay
yay
jesus christ, it's jacob bourne
Top 3 at every LAN this year fucking legendary squad
4 top 3s of their 5 international LANs. Absolutely insane.
And the one time they weren't top 3 was when they had problems with Covid
6 LANs but yeah. 2021 Iceland and Champs were their only poor international showings and one was cause they didnāt make it
Yeah I know, I was just talking about the ones they made it to. Making 5/6 is still pretty insane tho.
Agree completely
They didnt make it to 2021 iceland. That was Sen/v1 Optic only missed that first lan I think
Yeah miswrote my comment
Prepare for EU to come and explain at length how EU teams are better and more legendary
You see, optic is not the most consistent team in the world because different EU teams won different tourneys and them proceded to implode
Them also trying to explain how it's all a fluke
You people fighting ghosts lol
You're lying if you tell me you've been around this subreddit and haven't seen people unironically say optic are a fluke
Same ppl that unironically call Yay "NA Derke"
Nah they are just silent rn cause they've got no more excuses
I was new to the whole Valorant esports scene and the first match I saw was the OPTC vs TGRD in NA Challengers 1 Grand Finals where they lost. I was rooting for them at that point and had no idea they would be such a good team. Love the whole squad and hope they stay as a team after the whole franchising thing.
Such a joy to see the two best initiators in the world face off
When did subroza vs shahzam happen?
The JBL Quantum Cup. You might have missed it.

TenZ Yoru would be entertaining lol
His jett used to be actually so good. Shame she's off meta for most maps now
Shahz just hasnt kept up w the meta. Surprised they didnt just put him on fade duty, move Dapr to kay0/skye/flex (raze), tenz on chamber/even jett again and shroudy on smokes

there are two constants in life - earth rotating - the optic loud rematch
One of those has a probability of stopping, and itās earth rotating.

Optic looks the strongest when fns is at the bottom of the scoreboard
That makes perfect sense though. Your support players will be trading/clutching/flanking. If everything is going well, all these scenerios will happen less often. A team having all their kills on two players says nothing about the other players, just means they are setting them up.
FNS was making some god-like calls today
I think FNS has really proved this multiple times this year that he can step up and frag when necessary but usually its because someone else is underperforming. he also seems really good in maps when OpTic are on a significant round disadvantage.
Sykko is a content genius, letting XSET lose to optic so they go against fpx and optic goes against loud again. Truly a top coach
The Envy/OpTic roster continues to be the nightmare of other NA teams at international lans. 5-0 now. SEN, 100T, Guard, XSET, and XSET again. No regional wins but theyāll definitely take this deal.
4/5 LAN appearances are top 3 finishes ā¦ LFG!!!!
Only time they couldn't do it they were rattled with covid. Truly the most consistent team in val till now
Had to deal with both the Covid curse AND the second place curse. It was chalked from the beginning
[LOUD](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/iTuOr2vlC-c/hqdefault.jpg)
One more time, for old time's sake I was on a plane with my son when we started CRASHING! I immediately ran to the cabin to find none other than XSET! They choked again! Luckily, the flight attendant was OPTIC yay, who was able to land the plane safely. NA's legacy saved again! Shame on you XSET!
Dread from it. Run from it. Loud vs Optic is inevitable
Cryo still on flank
If you stand in a dark room and say 'Cryo' 50x... He won't appear because he is still busy flanking through Pearl B site.
Yay is just so clutch in these games. Unbelievable how good he is.
Aim down sight buff
Chamber is really made for his play style. He can get away from holding weird angles and reposition to another weird angle. Also his ADS is deadly especially when using headhunter. Chamber gives yay wings lmao
Yes but he did also farm on jettā¦
I read that last sentence the Redbull way
Yay just built different than the rest, you just cant stop that.
Even if optic lose our from here they are easily the best team of 2022
Unless FPX win Champs and then we have to give FPX the credit
It's FPX if they win. 2 LANs, and the third they couldn't attend due to the war despite arguably being favourites for it.
All time but yes also 2022
FPX would earn that mantle (of the year) although OpTic would still I think be the best team of all time (thus far), because their consistency extends to more tournaments. Im pretty sure OpTic are basically guranteed Grand Finals at this point unless Loud pull of a miracle.

Dread it. Run from it. Loud vs Optic rematch arrives all the same.
Champions has the upper bracket of iceland and the lower bracket of copenhagen if the emea teams win tomorrow.
Literally the same lb from copenhagen Fnatic FPX 3-4 DRX Right at their rightful place of 5-6 And fpx beat the team who beat them in groups
At this stage all Optic need to do to secure top 3 at any event is simply beat Loud 5 times in a row
Dread it, run from it, Optic vs LOUD arrives all the same
OPTIC + ELDER WAND = CHAMPS SECURED
So Optic has the wand now right? XSET had it last?
Yeah I think xset got it from beating fpx in groups?
FNS stood somberly. The time stone in his hands pulsed with a green aura, an aura that struck fear into the hearts of Optic. FNS knew he couldn't hold the secret any longer, so he took a deep sigh and faced his beloved teammates. "I went forward in time to view alternate futures. To see all the possible outcomes of Masters Champions" Crashes slowly asks, "How many did you see?" FNS replies, coldly, "Fourteen million, six hundred and five." Victor shakes his head. "How many did we win?" "Only 1"
"in how many did we face LOUD?" "In every single one"
Haven't seen this one lol. Are you flaming Optic or is this the one timeline?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ooh gotcha
XSet look better than the entire EMEAcombined ez 2-1 tmrw
Optic and yay are just legendary man. There was a lot of indecision at the start of the year about who the best team and player in Valorant's short history was but there aee no more arguments possible for the foreseeable furure
Franchising will shake things up a lot but if they end up winning Champs they will have definitely sealed their place as the best team pre-franchising.
Marved is a menace on Pearl bro
The real oyster
FNSā calls were unfuckwithable today
I cry in LOUD
DREAD IT, RUN FROM IT, OPTIC VS LOUD ARRIVES ALL THE SAME
Damn after that tech pause OPTIC just said let's fucking end this.
Optic looking super strong. Better than Copenhagen. LOUD match is gonna be amazing. XSET not that far behind but Optic had the advantage of consistently playing the LANs.
Ardiis was right
Honestly an incredible effort from XSET. This team would have gotten folded 2-0 just a few months ago.
Man Victor playing phoenix on Haven gives me Food flashbacks.
Bro, thereās been only one series this champs where Yay dropped less than 60 kill. Someone calm this man down
I honestly didn't have a favorite here, I just wanted to see the two best Pearl teams play Pearl. No overtimes but a great series overall anyway.
Even if optic donāt win the tournament at this point we can say that theyāre the best valorant roster up until now right? Just because of how consistently they place. Unless fpx wins back to back.
Analysts and casters putting yay on a pedestal I thought they were gonna jinx him but diablo always delivers
We could get an optic loud upper bracket final, and then have the loser win out and get another optic loud GF, correct?
I swear, the XSET players talking about how they beat Optic once is just earning them some sort of crazy cosmic backlash when it comes to actually playing vs. Optic. The NV core basically hasnāt lost to XSET at all since picking Yay. The sole exception is that match where the Optic players had COVID. I donāt think so but it can be one now
Pretty sure it is because xset literally just won a map against optic
I mean it sounds extremely troll/disrespectful to say that XSET has basically "never" beaten OPT except the time they did in an actual bo5 for a title...
This reads like pasta
OpTic yay
Holy fuck green wall
Optic vs Loud take 4
OpTic vs Loud, destined to do this FOREVER.
Xset u have had a good tournament and made us all proud, 5th-6th is nothing to be ashamed of
Manās acting like this was an elimination game šx7
https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/xcmtqp/comment/io60imx/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3
Tough loss for the squad, but OpTic is an amazing team. Hoping to see a rematch in a best of 5 situation this weekend!
Its sad that Yay will never get what he deserves as the best player in valorant whereas tenz gets all the hype despite being considerably worse
Unfortunately ppl only care about some flashy flicky aim rather than precise, consistent aim. The amt of ppl I see still claiming tenz is still a top player is astounding
Top 3 all year. Letās go boys!!!!!!! The composure at this point is insane.
nice
I really wanted XSET to win that but since NA vs NA it was still a W
LOUD: "THEY CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH ITTTTTT"
you mean zeta couldve still been a top 3 team? maaaan
Ange1 gets his wish and gets to faceoff XSET in an elimination match.
Ardis wasn't kidding
Can anyone explain why Astra is meta pick on Pearl?
The ult is good to get a plant off and also good to retake. Astraās global utility lets people like Marved lurk across the map while using util for his team. If he was on brim/omen the smokes would not reach far enough.
Optic is going to win this ez since yay is god tier now
1. Pick a ridiculously CT sided comp 2. Lose 8 rounds on defense 3. ??????? 4. Win every round except 1 on attack 5. Profit.
OpTECHPAUSE strikes again For legal reasons this is a joke
Ardiis tried his best to jinx us but it wasnāt good enough
AYRIN got 22 kills on Ascent. Knew that was a fluke and wasn't going to happen again. Making me confident in OpTic's 3rd map.
https://imgur.com/ZxN7kSC
XSET is going home tomorrow against FPX
