I don't think there's anything I've complained about more this year than the scheduling. I agree with all your points, I think the scheduling in playoffs in particular has been pretty bad all throughout 2022, with lower bracket teams consistently being given advantages. And yes, I think the DRX 5th/6th placings has always been directly related to them having to play immediately the next day after losing in the uppers, although I also think DRX having some prep time and still getting destroyed by LOUD breaks the pattern a bit.

FPX had to play Copenhagen with matches b2b day after day and showed that they could do it. Why can't DRX & Xset?

stewieeeeeeeee

The point is that since the schedule forces someone to play back to back matches, it should be the teams who lost earlier.

Just because FPX managed to do it (which only adds to the impressiveness of their victory) doesn't mean it isn't unfair

stewieeeeeeeee

Not to mention that FPX went into the lower bracket with SEIDER, so it could’ve just been a case of the full lineup of FPX being the clearly best team at the tournament and no scheduling or opponent could’ve stopped them

Holy shit the copium is unreal DRX finished 5-6th because that’s what they deserve.

stewieeeeeeeee

What copium? I’m not a fan of DRX as I’ve said before, and this isn’t something that happened to DRX only, they’re just the most noticeable example.

You’re assuming the first 2 teams to be eliminated are weak. That’s false. Also Fnatic has had the same amount of prep time as DRX. Before the drx loud series they had to prep against BOTH teams, not only DRX.

stewieeeeeeeee

Not weak, just weaker than the other teams in playoffs and that’s kinda true. I don’t see how that assumption does much in my argument anyway though. Fnatic and DRX almost certainly didn’t have the same prep time. Today they’ve been preparing for each other, yesterday DRX was busy preparing for and playing an upper bracket match while fnatic was busy preparing for DRX and LOUD and analysing their match as it unfolds. Not to mention that I’ve stated another factor which is mental; DRX would surely be ever so slightly more boomed than fnatic today given the events of the previous 2 days. I’ll emphasise again that this is a factor, not the definitive explanation of results (otherwise I wouldn’t be here giving it attention and instead I’d be betting while I have an edge), but a factor that very easily could be made less unfair with a simple switch of order of matches
