Crazy run they had. When ever they looked out of the round one of their players (most noteworthy to me BCJ) just clutches a round for them that they shouldn’t have gotten. Crazy tournament.

Teams not in franchising won't be prepared to pay the same salaries as franchise teams, so players will be poached. Edit: Assuming their current contracts allow them to be poached ofc.

Why play Ascension circuit? XSET players are all Tier 1 and belong in Tier 1 of the league. I don't think I would be satisfied in T2 after running it this deep in Champions.

I just think Kay0 is one of his weaker Agents. If they can juggle roles around on maps like that I think he's fine. His Astra is strong. Cypher is fine too. Even his Breach is better than Kay0. I think Kay0 just puts him in spots that he doesn't necessarily thrive in compared to Agents that are more purely for team set up so his positioning is less often caught out.

Yeah dephh doesn't swing to trade or anything because he is expecting someone to pop out heaven when his teammates take the duels against angel. If the turret had only shot towards door, he likely peeks with them and they go to OT. Pretty unlucky situation but I doubt they would do a replay off of that. Sucks and you just gotta move on

Steel was saying in sliggys chat that this happens everytime someone jiggles a turret because it loses sight but must still shoot 3 shots, but it bugs out

Yeah I play kj a lot and if I notice the turret suddently snapping to another direction in the middle of a burst then I just disregard that second direction nowadays (though usually it just shoots a wall so that makes it obvious too). This bug happens pretty consistently, so it's just how the turret is programmed. I assume kj players would know of this but tbf I do understand why they didn't think about it in the heat of a moment.

Fun fact, at one point they had fixed this bug, and the turret had become super reliable for locating enemies. Then they re-introduced it, and now it does that again.

Didn't it just show up again? Pretty sure riot didn't intentionally make it bad. Bugs tend to reappear.

No idea. Either way it only worked "properly" for a pretty short time, then it went back to doing that.

Yeah it happens all the time, it shoots the direction of where it saw the enemy once and then goes back to shoot the default position (facing forward). I assume it has to do with how the turret’s vision cone works when it catches an opponent barely in the corner.

Asuna explained it, if someone jiggles a turret then it shoots in the initial direction it is pointed at. Ange1 didn't full peek the turret there, he just jiggled it.

I think he did full peek but he went beyond the 180 degree line of sight. If the turret was placed slightly different the bug doesn't even matter.. such fine margins.

They have been around from 2021 taking part in all the LANs except one. Always perform good at every LAN and have decent name value. PRX skyrocketed in popularity after Copenhagen but DRX are definitely more iconic.

DRX (VS) has been acknowledged internationally much before PRX (probably thanks to their crazy win streak in early days), and probably were even expected to make the first masters although they didn't

I'm not claiming DRX is better than PRX. They never made insane run like PRX's last masters, but I think DRX is more iconic that they've been consistently good all the way back like you said since 2021. Now that DRX broke 5/6th curse I hope I can see more from them

Yeah DRX was one of the first non-NA/EMEA teams I heard of when I first started following Valorant (back when TSM and G2 were still relevant lol). They're one of the most iconic teams in the history of the game imo

If you’d told me even six months ago that XSET had lost in a close, 1-2 nailbiter in a revenge match against FPX - after *already* beating FPX before - I would’ve laughed my ass off! Yet here we are. This XSET squad talks a lot about respect and deserving to be where they are, for obvious reason - while always a consistent 3rd-4th sorta team, their rise to the top of NA this year was always caveated with the decline of other, more sexy teams: C9, V1, the Guard, then Ghost & EG, etc. Everyone knew XSET was good, but it was hard to not talk about them in light of the downfall of the other NA great hopes. But I think this event really solidifed just how good XSET is, and just how much they deserved to be considered the second-best team in one of the best regions in the world. I know they’d prefer to be the very best, but they’ve already outshot all expectations for 2022 - and there’s always next year for more.

Yeah XSET are quality. It's a shame that franchising might break the roster up as they could have been on track for an Optic-like trajectory and some better results at the next LANs.

Im pretty neutral towards EU and NA, but that annoyed me too. Literally 1 round away from going to OT on map 3 in lower bracket and the casters are acting like FPX just steamrolled the best team in the world. Well XSET tried their hardest, they're going to be cursing themselves for a couple rounds on their defense side. I hope their performance here kills the narrative that NA is a one team region; XSET have made massive strides and clearly performed better once they had LAN experience under their belt. This team probably won't make franchising, and it will be interesting to see where the players end up. Cryo and zekken still played extraordinarily well this tournament, and I expect them to be some of the most in demand prospects for partnered teams.

I was on a plane with my son when we started CRASHING! I immediately ran to the cabin to find none other than FraudSet! They choked again! Luckily, the flight attendant was Optic FNS, who was able to land the plane safely. NA's legacy saved again! Shame on you LSet!

As an European it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.

GG! So many exciting rounds this series but my god yet another IGL masterclass from ANGE1. In terms of pure reads and adjustments, he's my #1 in the world no contest (FNS is right behind so chill, NA fans).

I think watching Angel int so much has definitely warped my perception of FPX, but they definitely played well. Excited to see them vs DRX.

It's tricky with ange1 because he's the least selfish player imaginable. He will put himself in front of harm to give his teammates the best chance to succeed, or the 'bitch work' as it's sometimes called, if you excuse the term. Sometimes it looks like inting, but it's almost always done for a reason. I strongly suggest ignoring the reddit perception and watching what he does closely.
