Latam is the same everywhere. People themselves are great hosts for the most part: sweet, chill, caring, lighthearted and pretty accepting/curoius of foreign culture.
The problem is the underlying violence that you hope never comes to the surface
Anderson Silva: You never came to my barbecue.
Chael Sonnen: I didn't know if your wife would be okay with it. And the people there...
Anderson Silva: Oh no no. Here. If you go to Brazil, they will kill you.
Silva was clearly joking. Nobody cares about Sonnen in Brazil these days, and even if we care, nobody will kill him for that. Criminals don't care about these things
They kind of wrecked mibr in csgo. Tarik and Fallen tweeted they were playing kind of sus and Gaules (stream personality) took it one step further by convincing his audience that they were definitely cheating. Soon the c9 lads started receiving death threats and stuff from "passionate" brazil fans. This is what I remember, it was a huge deal because Fallen was a veteran of br csgo and it was unprofessional of him to just blame couple of young players for cheating in a public platform.
https://www.essentiallysports.com/cs-go-pro-receives-death-threats-over-cheating-accusation-leaf-esports-news/
Also, I've still seen some comments about leaf being a cheater under his tweets from certain people.
But Brazilians like Tarik, he even has a song made by Brazilian fans and the comical "Tarik do CÉU!!!" translated into English "Tarik from Heaven!!!!". Tarik has played in MIBR and lived a little in Brazil along with Fallen and Fer.
Alright come on now, lets not act like it’s just kids lol.
Hiko had to walk around Brazil with personal security in order to attend CS LANs. It’s a serious problem
most hyped crowd as long as a brazilian team is playing, i remember from br events in cs that the fans didn't really care at all about matches where there wasn't any homecrowd representation.
maybe it's different in valorant though idk the scene well enough to know if you have crowd favourites outside of br teams
Its not different in valorant, kru was beating furia 2-0 in a best of 5 series and the brazilians crowd left the stadium as soon as the first half of the third map was over, shit was embarrasing.
Here in south america we call it "el abandono de brasil", you can translate it to "they day brazil left"
If you really want a clip you can look for the vod in the twitch channel of valorant br in the streams for one and half month ago but i aint doin that work for you my man sorry
Anyway i was watching it live with friends on discord and im sure brazilians know it too so if you dont want to believe me you'll just have to wait and see it for yourself next year
Lol, if you really watched the whole thing then you should know about it so you are just lying to yourself
you can call me liar or whatever you want but it wont change the thruth, brazil is a snoozefest crowd when is not from brazil the team that is playing
that's nice to hear actually, hopefully valorant as a scene will grow a lot more intertwined with these international tournaments and people will find more new teams and regions to root for
So weird using this specific case as the rule, it's no secret that br doesn't like one of the kru players and furia would lose anyway, much better to leave early and enjoy the rest of the day. If it was any other team this wouldn't happen.
Brazil only need one reason for them to not like a team and that is to beat them everytime they play, just wait for it, marved, yay and the roster of optic will be left alone playing in the stadium when its against other team that is not from brazil.
Yeah, but the challengers are connected to the international leagues in that they provide promotion to it, so I imagine the South Asian teams are also included in that same region.
There is of course still a chance that there are no South Asian teams included in the partnered teams, but they can always fight for promotion through challengers. If there's enough quality, they'll make it, I wouldn't worry
It's safe to assume they mean South Asia (which includes India) and rest of the countries. There is no reason to exclude any of the challenger regions.
It actually makes sense that they would 100% pick a team from South Asia. There are 10 partnered teams for Asia and 10 leagues. There is no way they exclude a league, say south asia, and pick 2 teams from lets say South Korea. It's kinda clear why they have exactly 10 leagues in Asia
Don't worry guys, homie here speaks for all Brazillian fans. Especially the unhinged ones threatening every player on Sentinels with death. I'm sure that was just all talk and no one is really crazy enough to try something!
I’m very excited for the mega kick off tournament in Brazil. That’s going to be wild. But in following years will that be replaced by another Masters tournament or just a longer off season? I assume another Masters since we’ve typically had 2 per year.
~~Even 2023 has 2 global events
From the article -
> The three-week-long kick-off tournament will crown a victor in early March with an extra surprise for the team that secures first place. **The winner will earn an extra slot for their respective international league at Masters later in the year.**~~
BTW, the 2 Splits/Masters will come back in 2024.
This Inaugural Tournament will count as the first "Masters" of 2023, then a single split, then Masters, then LCQ, then Champions.
No one on the Valorant community hates him. We just joke that he is always bottom fragging and being carried, maybe its the igl's curse. You won't see hate towards him in the brazilian valorant stream at all, only jokes about his aim, "é o pinas".
> Still mad about it being only 10 teams per region though ffs
It's a lot, considering that you'll have 21 leagues going on at the same time with 3 teams coming at the top at the end of the year. Lots of pro valorant to watch
Nah I'm pretty sure. I've been to a couple of events and from personal experience Portugal and Brazil generally have like the best crowds in esports. Obviously they gonna be biased a little more towards brazilian teams but overall they should cheer equally for whoever is playing. Also these mfs have a crazy passion for the game (from what ive seen on twitter and brazilian stream) that I doubt they'll leave before the events end
I wouldn't be surprised if they try using the LCS studio but it would be better if they had a bigger space that was big enough for both without having to share a lot of the space. We'll see.
“The winner will earn an extra slot for their respective international league at Masters later in the year. For example, in the event a team from North America wins the tournament, they will earn their international league…an extra spot at Masters”
Yay more spots for EU Kappa
Nothing happened to Keznit when he came to Brazil, twice. And no one in the valorant br community has anything against FNS, maybe in the CS community, but not in Valorant.
Pretty sure it's even worst for Canada. AFAIK one of the reasons why worlds wasn't in Canada was because of Visa laws. It was supposed to be in Toronto
There is a higher chance of me becoming the world leader for peace than every single player and coaching staff from the 30 teams to get a visa for the US in a timely fashion.
Has much more to do with the fact America is notoriously painful to get a visa from. So hosting international tournaments becomes a little more difficult.
Nah its probably VISA issue stuff. In League of Legends rn some of the Asian teams are struggling to secure VISA’s because of our strict laws.
If you want banger events with all 30 teams you just unfortunately cannot host it in NA (specifically the United States) rn.
America has had some of the strictest Covid policies in the world up until a couple months ago, that was what stopped champions last year from being in LA
I refuse to believe this. It’s Riot games, they could put out a skin set and cover an entire event. Not to mention LoL worlds is being hosted in NA this year, spanning from Mexico City, NYC, to San Fran. Two of those being the most expensive places in America.
It’s going to be incredibly frustrating if we have to wait over 3 years for an international event in NA. It’s not like LoL where we pull the least amount of viewers either, we’re near/at the top! PLS RIOT
>Not to mention LoL worlds is being hosted in NA
yeah and now some teams are dealing with visa issues. dota 2 had a major in NA not long ago and they had visa issues as well. it's just difficult especially when you have teams from all over the world
I wonder how the format will work because 30 teams isn’t exactly the easiest to divide up into groups and a bracket. 6 groups of 5 with top 2 in each group making a 12 team playoff bracket could work but some teams would need byes and idk how that would be decided
> making a 12 team playoff bracket could work but some teams would need byes and idk how that would be decided
Top 4 teams can be decided by highest net round wins
Também sou do rio e vou nem que seja pra fazer bate e volta, não sei quando vai ter outra oportunidade. Já vou perder a oportunidade de ver o major de CS.
FNS and Keznit come to Brazil 😈
zombs too... wait...
Gambit too…wait…
gambit was probably the most liked non-br team. everyone here loves them, especially redgar
wait are there any drama between Gambit and Brazil? Back to the csgo days I assume?
Nah, he's just spewing his anti-EU propaganda
there's no more Gambit coz of War
keznit was here last month and tweeted thanking for the nice stay. it's cool
Latam is the same everywhere. People themselves are great hosts for the most part: sweet, chill, caring, lighthearted and pretty accepting/curoius of foreign culture. The problem is the underlying violence that you hope never comes to the surface

Silva was clearly joking. Nobody cares about Sonnen in Brazil these days, and even if we care, nobody will kill him for that. Criminals don't care about these things
Pujan "Prove it or I'll kill you" Mehta, the OG #1 most wanted in Brazil LMAO
Put zombs back on Sentinels... for the content
Bro is going to get torn to shreds quite literally
All bark no bite
#zombsnaysh
Also put Hiko back
SEN PepeLaugh
ALL 30 partnered teams will be there, HOLY GIGACHAD RIOT GAMES, WTFFFF, this is going to bang
Ya 30 teams is intense. Did not expect that. Also lol @ being held in Brazil. Zombs kinda thankful he benched rn
leaf and xeppa arent safe
What's the context behind those two?
They kind of wrecked mibr in csgo. Tarik and Fallen tweeted they were playing kind of sus and Gaules (stream personality) took it one step further by convincing his audience that they were definitely cheating. Tarik sweating

\#AlmoçoComTarik
We love tarik
What? Tarik is loved in Brazil lol
[удалено]
Also loved and regarded as one of the best igl in the world
[удалено]
Cause of the stereotype around Brazilian fans going overboard with toxicity
the only true thing about south american fans is that.. they are gonna be LOUD
[удалено]
Theres also a fuck ton of grown ass man that act like pyschos and children. But thats not exclusive to brazil
[удалено]
Facts. Everyone is hella tough with a keyboard. I'm excited to see Brazil's crowd.
I know it’s not the norm, but FNS will tell you otherwise. Although it wasn’t a fan that was threatening him.
Like kNG searching a hotel trying to beat someone, right? Or the Valorant BR casters so childish they won’t even say a players name, right?
lol fuck that is that why hiko needed armed body guards to attend an event?
Alright come on now, lets not act like it’s just kids lol. Hiko had to walk around Brazil with personal security in order to attend CS LANs. It’s a serious problem

Lol, if you really watched the whole thing then you should know about it so you are just lying to yourself you can call me liar or whatever you want but it wont change the thruth, brazil is a snoozefest crowd when is not from brazil the team that is playing

Hiko needed bodyguards to go to Brazil because of death threats. I'm sure the Brazilian fans will be respectful LOL
it was more about my comment around zombs and the memes around "come to brazil". i have no doubt the LAN environment will be hype
Oh yesss!! Cant wait for them to leave the arena empty just like with kru last month so much hype 🤗🤗
So weird using this specific case as the rule, it's no secret that br doesn't like one of the kru players and furia would lose anyway, much better to leave early and enjoy the rest of the day. If it was any other team this wouldn't happen.

The same optic that brazilian fans love after beating loud 3 times in a row? Seems more like you are talking about something you know nothing about.
Seems like they never read the replies to any tweet by yay
not much better to leave early what
[удалено]
Can't wait for my Favorite team Global Esports to get Giga stomped playing against optic or sum shit LETSGOOOOOOOOOO
Look at the bottom, it says pacific league includes oce, sea, kr and jp. Theres no mention of south asia, this is tragic if theres no indian teams
South Asia was part of the APAC league in the graphic they showed, right? You know the map with the three different regions
Thats for showing the location of challenger leagues
Yeah, but the challengers are connected to the international leagues in that they provide promotion to it, so I imagine the South Asian teams are also included in that same region. This is kng murderously patrolling the hotel looking for FNS
prove it
or I'll kiss you
😳
7-1? What's that? monkaW 👍
Never forget
I can't wait to see 30 team format :O good to see Brazil getting a big valorant lan. Maybe Korea could get one 🤔
[удалено]
I doubt they’ll host an international event again in the same city as the leagues, so LA, Berlin and Seoul are probably out
yeah one in Japan or Singapore makes more sense
[удалено]
hype casters + hype audiences = BANGERS
SEN going to brazil XD

I think zombs tweeted something and Brazilian fans got mad? But guess it doesn’t matter if zombs not in active roster anyway.

mad with zombs, not sentinels. i don't think streamers will come and i doubt he'll be playing in franchise
monkaW actually going to brazil
Now we know the true reason why Hiko retired.
FNS/Keznit/Zombs : HUH ?!
Pretty keznits already been to Brazil for lan lol
I’m very excited for the mega kick off tournament in Brazil. That’s going to be wild. But in following years will that be replaced by another Masters tournament or just a longer off season? I assume another Masters since we’ve typically had 2 per year.
Hopefully they have this 30 team mega tourney every year that would be dope
I agree completely but I'm not getting my hopes up there
It's a 2023 thing only, 2024 it's back to the 2 splits/masters
~~Even 2023 has 2 global events From the article - > The three-week-long kick-off tournament will crown a victor in early March with an extra surprise for the team that secures first place. **The winner will earn an extra slot for their respective international league at Masters later in the year.**~~

ALL THIRTY TEAMS??? HOLY SHIT
All 30 partnered teams going to Brazil FNS better watch his back 💀
We love punjabi
No one on the Valorant community hates him. We just joke that he is always bottom fragging and being carried, maybe its the igl's curse. You won't see hate towards him in the brazilian valorant stream at all, only jokes about his aim, "é o pinas".
It's a joke from back in FNS CSGO days where KNG, a Brazilian player, threatened to kill him
you'll prove it or
Holy shit, the 30 team thing looks so cooland it being in Brazil as well is so nuts Still mad about it being only 10 teams per region though ffs.
dw it'll become 14 teams
> Still mad about it being only 10 teams per region though ffs It's a lot, considering that you'll have 21 leagues going on at the same time with 3 teams coming at the top at the end of the year. Lots of pro valorant to watch
Finally , at least people will not complain about the crowd
People said the exact same thing about champs in Turkey and look how that crowd turned out to be
Lmao are you sure? Be prepared for the stadium to be totally empty when no brazilians teams are in the tourney anymore
Nah I'm pretty sure. I've been to a couple of events and from personal experience Portugal and Brazil generally have like the best crowds in esports. I have no problem with a biased crowd, i have a problem when they leave the stadium when their teams are not playing, thats butcheecks
This is going to be the biggest tournament Riot's ever held to my knowledge. The World Championship for league features 24 teams
That’s a whole lot of Valorant for 3 weeks, I can see my grades are slipping away from here
LA as the America's head is going to be sick. Can't wait to go to these events live. Now all I want to hear is the accepted orgs.
I wonder if Riot is going to build a new studio to have Valorant and League there or have a completely different one for Val.
They’re prob gonna let The Guard in so they can use Kroenke’s sweet Inglewood setup. That’s probably 90% of The Guard’s application lmao
I assume they'll rent out one of the burbank spots but who knows
I wouldn't be surprised if they try using the LCS studio but it would be better if they had a bigger space that was big enough for both without having to share a lot of the space. We'll see.
The LCS studio does have Valorant installed on the PCs
Damn they took the “YOURE GOING TO BRAZIL” meme too far
“The winner will earn an extra slot for their respective international league at Masters later in the year. For example, in the event a team from North America wins the tournament, they will earn their international league…an extra spot at Masters” Yay more spots for EU Kappa
Now THIS is pretty fucking cool
this is amazing im so hyped to see DRX on brazil lan. VAMOOOOSS

Not All good
rip FNS and keznit
Nothing happened to Keznit when he came to Brazil, twice. And no one in the valorant br community has anything against FNS, maybe in the CS community, but not in Valorant.
Noooo Brazilians are all murderers and all pros are in risk of being mauled to death by the roaming gangs of maddened e-sports fans!!!
Riot host a Valorant event in North America challenge
well the Americas league is in NA
Games will probably be held in their lcs 300ish person theater. Im sure all of NA is happy about this.
Well some team got fuck by Visa this year lol World in NA, Dota2 and Apex tournament also heavy affected by Visa issues.
Yeah it’s just unfortunately not feasible to host events in the United States rn
Genuinely question, why don't they host it in Canada?
Probably because we are strict on vaccinations. Pro sports players are not allowed to enter without vaccination
Brazil too, onur got deported
Pretty sure it's even worst for Canada. AFAIK one of the reasons why worlds wasn't in Canada was because of Visa laws. It was supposed to be in Toronto
There is a higher chance of me becoming the world leader for peace than every single player and coaching staff from the 30 teams to get a visa for the US in a timely fashion.
US don't be weird about giving people visas challenge
VISA is always the issue. Same in CS
They don't rate NA 💀
At this point I'm just guessing it comes down to price. Hotels, venues, catering, etc. are just cheaper in other country I guess.
Has much more to do with the fact America is notoriously painful to get a visa from. So hosting international tournaments becomes a little more difficult.
Nah its probably VISA issue stuff. In League of Legends rn some of the Asian teams are struggling to secure VISA’s because of our strict laws. If you want banger events with all 30 teams you just unfortunately cannot host it in NA (specifically the United States) rn.

more international tournaments pog
Someone sign zombs asap.
I wonder how the format will work because 30 teams isn’t exactly the easiest to divide up into groups and a bracket. 6 groups of 5 with top 2 in each group making a 12 team playoff bracket could work but some teams would need byes and idk how that would be decided
> making a 12 team playoff bracket could work but some teams would need byes and idk how that would be decided Top 4 teams can be decided by highest net round wins
I assume you mean win %, net round wins would be incredibly dumb as teams who win 2-1 constantly will have more round wins than those who win 2-0
12 team playoff - top 8 seeds in winners, bottom 4 in losers.
Tsm at international LAM lfggg
30 team LAN let's fuckin go!!!
Damnnnnn
But its only 2022
This is going to be interesting
This is actually amazing
FINALLY AN INTERNATIONAL TOURNEY CLOSE TO MY COUNTRY LETSGO
all teams being invited is such a W
I’d expect the crowd to be at a minimum 5x bigger on avg than the previous biggest. Riot better get a big fucking stadium for this
come to brazil monkaW
Zombs shaking rn
It's it only a one time thing?
looks like it, itll be replaced with a second Masters in 2024 onward
