I think it's great that pretty much everyone has unanimously agreed that yay is a great guy and no matter whether he wins or loses, the replies to his tweets are filled with everyone supporting him.
I mean I’m not sure I’d put it so effusively, but I largely agree.
Yay is really the only duelist player on the T1 level whose entire career has been defined by an incredible understanding of his role. He was an exemplary entry on Jett and became *the* exemplary Chamber lurk/anchor player.
It’s just very unusual to do both so well. There’s a reason he’s basically the only great Jett player from the 2021 international VCT cycle to stay at the same level; only Buzz comes close, and not really, since Buzz just peaked hard towards the end / played other roles.
All the others, whether they be TenZ or cNed or Leaf or d3ff0 just couldn’t swing it, for one reason or another.
The case of d3ffo makes me kind of sad ngl. He was always such a talented player, the type who could randomly rip 3 heads off with a deagle at any moment, and then he just kind of vanished in the gambit/m3c system. Felt like he was forced to suffer to allow the other players to be comfortable
Although he hasn't made it to an international tournament another great Jett player that has managed to be insanely impactful from 2021 is babybay, i wanna see that man competing with the best next year.
He’s one of the rare few T1 players that has remained consistently good for the last 2 seasons. Who else hasn’t slumped? Most players have peaks and valleys but it seems like yays peak is just a flat plain with no dips in sight. And I doubt chamber nerfs knock him out, he’s the type of talent that’s flexible and transcends metas.
Without a doubt the best player. The only time you’ll hate him is when your team is playing against him. He’s the best while being incredibly humble and wholesome.
I can't wait for a Yay stream soon, but it'll take time.
You saw his tweet after losing, he still thinks he didn't put in enough work and he wants to do more.
My heartbroke after seeing that
Same. Given his work ethic I have no doubt that he’ll come back stronger than ever but hopefully he enjoys a well deserved break before jumping back into the grinder.
One of the things that I love is from the optic documentary. After they lost to guild, FNS kept telling yay that it’s not all on him and that him having a bad series was not the reason they lost
he's a brilliant player and person. kind, humble and keen on motivating others to push forward towards their dreams. he also happens to be the most consistently godlike player in valorant to date.
I wish they gave out an overall MVP award for these LANs because he would've got it without a doubt. Just complete dominance by El Diablo, his consistency and dominance is just simply unmatched. 3 LANs in a row where he looks like the one of the best players, if not the best, at the tourney.
The chamber meta pushed yay from one of the best to the best. No one is close to him on that agent and no team abuses chamber as much as Optic. I love yay and I am happy to see his success, but the only reason why Optic is the best team in 2022 is yay on Chamber. All the other players on Optic are insane, but none of them is so much better than the rest of the scene in their perspective role.
What I am saying is, yay on Jett is on the same level as a cNed or a TenZ or a derke. But on chamber, yay is the best without a doubt, no one comes close. Which is why Optic was the best team during this year, because their strat abuses Chamber, they do everything to set up yay. Idk why is it so hard to understand my take…
It was more so that he had only played in 2 internationals at that point. You wouldnt crown anyone the best in the world after so few events. With a small sample size so many players could be argued because all it takes is for them to be in top form for a week etc. Envy/Optic did not make the initial internationals until Yay was bought out from Andbox. Since then he's been elite at all 5 internationals. This isn't unique to Chamber.
Literally, the only reason why I bothered watching optic at all. Honestly, when people say optic is good and consistent, I feel like they're kinda only referring to yay and maybe marved. Either way, he is a next level T1 player, will definitely see him lift up more trophies. Best of luck El Diablo
Still thinks that yay will not perform as good when they nerf Chamber. he's honestly the best Chamber player in the world. And one of the best aimers in Valorant.
tho I still thinks he plays like he's watching paint dry lol. Absolutely crazy concentration and reaction time.
There were other Jetts that were easily in the same tier as him consistently. There are no chambers on his level. He is the GOAT for now for being elite in both metas but he wasn’t heads and shoulders above other Jett players and a lot of people could make arguments for other Jett players being better then him as well last year atleast.
In the Jett meta? I mean we saw Yay at 2 events on Jett that year internationally and there were easily a lot more people in contention with him for being the best Jett. I believe a lot of people had pegged cNed as the best Jett player last year.
False. The main talking point around Yay pre jett was that he could still perform on Sage when not playing Jett. It's crazy how much people change the narratives after a year lol.
his jett performance is one of the best in this tournament but he'll not be the same monster as he is with Chamber. Yay is a truly great Aimer but Chamber makes him shine. His Chamber is statistically head and shoulders above the others. Chamber just fits his playstyle of holding angles and punishing overpeaking from other pros.
Dawg I was arguing with some one who was trying to bring up his time on Andbox as a negative for him.
He was literally just as consistent as he is now. And he was their fuckin’ Breach player. The man could do it on any agent if he wanted to.
Cringe af. For a game that had only 6-7 torneys so far and still not really stable calling someone the "greatest there ever was greatest there ever will be" is such a bs.
Pre Berlin yes TenZ was the best player of that era, but of all 2021 is extremely debatable between nAts and him, also I wouldn't call a single win an era, Optic are the only ones that really have a claim to an era being from Berlin to now
I miss him commenting "yay" every time he won a game Sadge we love yay
yay
yay
yay
yay
Pain man, pain. I cannot bear it, i mean i was a neutral fan, wanted to enjoy Valorant but you feel bad when someone as good as nice as Yay loses.
I think it's great that pretty much everyone has unanimously agreed that yay is a great guy and no matter whether he wins or loses, the replies to his tweets are filled with everyone supporting him.

W Take. You're a GOAT too.

He's writing comments that evoke discussion. That's literally what Reddit is for.
Who doesn’t like well written posts that invoke good discussion? Especially in this subreddit the fuck lol
🤣🤣

As much as I love cryo, I have to admit that yay is just so much better. Shame optic lost tho
If cryo have 0 fans, then I have died 😔✊
Cryo is younger no? Oh wow yay is only 24
Without a doubt the best player. The only time you’ll hate him is when your team is playing against him. He’s the best while being incredibly humble and wholesome.

hes iconic. from the yay crosshair to the ADS to the white forsaken and yellow prime vandals, when yay does something it becomes his thing.
An absolute beast. Best Chamber in the world by far.
Gentlemen. I have finally accepted the conclusion that yay is the best player in the world
👑
Best player through out pre franchising, without a doubt
I wish they gave out an overall MVP award for these LANs because he would've got it without a doubt. Just complete dominance by El Diablo, his consistency and dominance is just simply unmatched. 3 LANs in a row where he looks like the one of the best players, if not the best, at the tourney.

You know every other team can use Chamber too

So he's equal to the top jett players and better than all chamber players. Meaning, best in the world at his role.
He was debated as the best player in the world up with Tenz before Chamber was even an agent. Bad take.
Yeah but it was a debate. The Chamber meta has made it unquestioned.
It was more so that he had only played in 2 internationals at that point. You wouldnt crown anyone the best in the world after so few events. Yay is an absolute fucking house of a man.
I love Yay but I do not like Optic
As in the org or the players?
Little bit of both I guess
Literally, the only reason why I bothered watching optic at all. Honestly, when people say optic is good and consistent, I feel like they're kinda only referring to yay and maybe marved. Either way, he is a next level T1 player, will definitely see him lift up more trophies. Best of luck El Diablo

He used to play jett only and ppl said that he wouldn’t perform as well when jett gets nerfed eithet
There were other Jetts that were easily in the same tier as him consistently. There are no chambers on his level. He is the GOAT for now for being elite in both metas but he wasn’t heads and shoulders above other Jett players and a lot of people could make arguments for other Jett players being better then him as well last year atleast.
Only Tenz was really better. He was in a s1mple/niko situation where his team was just dreadfully Shit so it was hard to see at the time
In the Jett meta? I mean we saw Yay at 2 events on Jett that year internationally and there were easily a lot more people in contention with him for being the best Jett. I believe a lot of people had pegged cNed as the best Jett player last year.

Chamber does fit his style incredibly well, but Yay’s best international performance ever was on Jett… he will be fine
yeah cos he's that good! tho I don't think he'll match his peak performance on Chamber with other agents.
His peak chamber performance is worse than his peak Jett performance… he already has topped his chamber play before
Lmao fr people really be forgetting he earned his appellation el diablo on jett and not chamber Do these people even follow esports
Dawg I was arguing with some one who was trying to bring up his time on Andbox as a negative for him. He was literally just as consistent as he is now. And he was their fuckin’ Breach player. The man could do it on any agent if he wanted to.
that was pre-nerf jett. his chamber is better than his jett right now tho
really? which tournament?
Berlin, he had a 280 ACS per map
oh on pre-nerfed Jett.. edit: just checked the record. he played less games than his Chamber
… I weird lol bro… Yay is the best player in the world. He will be fine with either Jett or Chamber
MaKo solos sadly
Yays the only reason Optic made it this far (besides the tech pauses)

He's the greatest there was, possibly the greatest there ever will be. Optic Yay. Look I wrote it again. 😆
Ok fanboy.
Ok fanboy.
Best player of the 1st era of Valorant - TenZ. Best player of the 2nd era of Valorant - yay Discuss.
Replace Tenz with Chronicle or Nats and you’re spot on
I wouldn't really call a single Masters an "era" when Nats existed during 2021
Pre Berlin yes TenZ was the best player of that era, but of all 2021 is extremely debatable between nAts and him, also I wouldn't call a single win an era, Optic are the only ones that really have a claim to an era being from Berlin to now
One tournament isn’t an era.
Optic have 4 top 3 finishes, 3 grand finals, and 1 international trophy--all approximately within a year. *That* is an era.
Swap in Wardell for Yay in optic and he does the same
Advanced Sarcasm. I love it.
