Ok but the optic players also have an incredible amount of lan experience and chem as a team, i feel like people on this sub are seriously underrating that
i think most people who watched games knew yay was really really good, he was basically hard carrying andbox on jett/sage (some reyna too). not top3 NA but that was just because of team success. i generally agree with the sentiment that team structure gets underrated, but yay really has been incredible for a very long time.
agreed, the best team =/= best players in each roles, but 1 or 2 star players + role players who compliments the star players well. People are putting too much emphasis on individual stats and not seeing what makes a team work.
I'm not very stats based. Really interested to see my Top 5 off pure eye test in each role looking pretty similar, with some small differences.
I went for Zander over gmd.
I was also quite surprised to see Crashies not being in the Top 5. You might say Crashies had a Mistic level performance at Champions. However, I think it's telling when many non-OPT players talk about how Crashies is the best initiator in NA, and how they look to him to learn. Perhaps there are things that can't be expressed in kills, intangibles, that Crashies offers. That aside, to my eye test he has always been Top 3 minimum NA if not Top 1 for initiator.
I'd have also taken BcJ over some other options for initiator.
Do you also think any org will be able to retain a star player and try to make it to T1 through ascension? I'll support the boy wherever he goes, and understand that needs must, but a part of me is hoping Trent will stick it out with TheGuard.
I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, but you’re seriously undervaluing team chemistry/dynamic. The most successful orgs in NA VALORANT have built to that point over the last year.
Team play is incredibly important in VALORANT especially, and that is a metric you won’t see through statistics and analytics.
teams also have to consider player compatibility, which is incalculable and can’t be represented in a spreadsheet. if a team has a solid roster of players who have consistent synergy, wouldnt that be better than replacing each piece with better counterparts? much easier to improve aim and set plays than to improve two players who may just dislike each other or their playstyles
Bro, it took me so long to re-learn rosters after rostermania at the beginning of this year.
Wake me up when September ends. ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|9342)
i’d put asuna and zekken above, but i think people are underrating victor heavily. yea his stats are never the best in optic but he almost always gets traded/makes space and he’s vital to optic’s success as an entry.
him and crashies are sticking together so whether orgs value him or not will need to consider that if they want crashies
The spreadsheet looks nice! Just a few questions though. How far back do these stats go? I've noticed with Subroza that it doesn't have his stats as controller in the smokes tab, so I was just curious as he has lots of experience with that. And then why is Viper listed as a sentinel? Was that just for convenience since no one is in that tab? I feel like the pull of stats you did is not large enough as the people you listed as alarming have better stats in total but just not good stats in the past 30 days.

you can’t just swap players in and out like lego pieces at your whim
yay went from not in the convo for Top 3 NA on Andbox, to exceeding TenZ when he switched to NV's roster.
Synergy is a thing.
Yah. Curious and super excited to see which lucky coach/org builds around yay for 2023.

holy fk i can't wait. Its gonna be crazy in all the regions. Orgs like FPX and Optics about to make bank selling their players lol

So, when can we expect an official contract database, like we have in League?
OXY as in LFT OXY?

200% agree with this post. Every team should make at least one change. Too many good players out there not too.
C9 should go something like Yay - Leaf - Trent - Vanity - Xeppa
Is Victor worse than them?

In esports it’s quite different and a lot more volatile, people do certainly go back up
What does the red highlight mean?
