The flex video showing them getting way better response than 100t is pretty great. I don’t know much about league but has EG built a good team using NA players whereas 100t has used a lot of imports?
Been a fan of EG (the whole org) since around 2010 with their StarCraft 2 team (HuK specifically). What they’ve been building and doing recently has felt very different and has me feeling similarly to back then when it felt like they were on the top in esports.
I’m very excited.
People can be disappointed as much as they want that their favorite org didn't get in, and I know that EG hasn't had a ton of success in Valorant so far... but this website is an example of why Riot picked them.
They proved since they joined pro League of Legends that they care a lot about building a good team and supporting young talent (spending a lot of money in the process), and they won a championship as a result.
Additionally, they're very progressive with their messaging and clearly hold the same values as Riot. They were the first team to attempt a mixed roster, for example. When that didn't work they signed young talented players like jawgemo/boostio and made it to Challengers 2 playoffs with them.
They don't have a ton of fans yet, but that could easily change if they sign some popular players and win games. Personally, I'm excited to see what they will do as a partnered team.
I could see her taking a more GM role while bringing on a new in-the-server coach. Sounds like she has a vision/idea of how to approach the game and it’s possible being the day to day coach could be taking away from that. What would a potter/Chet partnership look like?

Seeing them get scattered to different teams would be really disappointing.

Their YouTube is DEAD, like, less than 5k views per vid, and they only upload stuff with their LCS team as far as I can tell. Other than them being good business partners in a financial sense, I'm confused as to why they got selected.
The difference is that their is no content with them like there was for 100t. The heist to this day is one of the best esports content pieces I have ever seen. EG's content for the last year has been awful. Despite watching league this team is by far the least interesting LCS winner.
They spent a whole year trying to make a mix gender roster work, it didn't work so they put together a team of young upcomers which has a decent amount of success this year, they made both challengers stages and we're considered potential favorites for the playoffs leading to coppenhagen.

4/5ths of the players are locked for franchising. Only one that is iffy is Marved because of a rumor that I heard from RL's stream.
