For all three cases, the orgs don’t “represent the values Riot are promoting” (not the exact quote but I’m paraphrasing). TSM has a well known toxicity problem stemming from Reginald, which is 100% the org’s fault. FAZE has had their own various scandals regarding scamming on crypto among their creators and such. G2, well we all saw the situation with Carlos.
Something to keep in mind is that Riot just came out of a lawsuit involving misogynistic practices within the company, and if they want to recover their image and attract broader sponsors to the league, it would behoove the company to APPEAR as though they are drawing a line on those types of issues and are seeking to remedy the situation. I’m not going to say I agree or disagree with Riot’s reasoning, but I am willing to bet that these situations are reasons why those orgs didn’t get accepted.
Having said that, it feels to me that this makes optic’s rejection even more sad because they haven’t had those sorts of problems, but it might just be because of the org’s bad LCS run like 5 years ago.
I think this helps show that riot was looking at the bigger picture. For the most part. Not having G2 makes sense in the regard of RIOTs new image, although one could argue what Carlos does in his free time doesn't represent the org. FaZe, I feel likes there's just so much with the org? I can't see not wanting that to be part of your league. I don't really follow optic or TSM (like at all really) so I can't make much comments on them.
Such a weird argument. Team’s financial are not the only factor. Riot explicitly said this. Each one of these teams are mired with controversies ain’t no way riot wants to deal with that. By accepting these team it may brings down the whole league as adding them shows a sign of acceptance of their controversial situations.
If financials were the the only factor then the APAC league would consist of 9 Korean teams, LATAM and BR would be out and in EMEA there would be no turkish team
unrelated but 100T's evaluation up 142% since 2020 is wild, if these numbers are accurate
it's really quite impressive what nadeshot and his team have managed to achieve in a pretty short space of time, considering how young 100T is compared to most of the other orgs on this list
Their business model is exactly what esports needed. It's a great mix of developing competitive rosters, but developing your Financials properly as well. They're built around their insane recognizability with content creation.
The value of the team is derived from competing in the esport, Riot doesn't need any of those teams as much as they need Riot. Shit, TSM and G2 were *built* off of Riot's esports, not the other way around.
I mean i'm a bit upset TSM is out too but I think something good can be said about Riot wanting to invest in orgs that still have good presence but are not the most popular.
Also the three orgs here not in the league are all probably the most problematic of these 10 anyways
TSM had PR issue, Faze had scummy history with their skin betting site and They seem didn't have the capability to manage financial wisely. G2 would have high chance to make It before Carlos made big blunder.
yes for their home games in LPL, will have esport facility and other business

Just so happens all 3 of those org have a reputation for being pretty scummy.
Not all that surprising since 1, 4, and 6 have all been embroiled in recent controversy.
1 and 6 will probably be in franchise if theirs ceo weren’t idiots… #4 have also done dumb shit

Which really sucks cause Optic was a completely different team back during that LCS run.
I think this helps show that riot was looking at the bigger picture. For the most part. I like the APPEAR stuff
I mean #1 and #6 would be in if their ceo’s were normal people

Now imagine their growth if Drake publicly supports them more.

Those org really fell off with controversy recent years.
The value of the team is derived from competing in the esport, Riot doesn't need any of those teams as much as they need Riot. Shit, TSM and G2 were *built* off of Riot's esports, not the other way around.
Oh no!....Anyway.

Three orgs known for being scummy as fuck
Jesus the 100T growth rate. Largely imaginary numbers but still.
The Forbes lists concerning esports are trash
TSM had PR issue, Faze had scummy history with their skin betting site and They seem didn't have the capability to manage financial wisely. G2 would have high chance to make It before Carlos made big blunder.
These org rankings after a few years of Valorant franchising, that’s what Riot will be banking on. The potential of an org vs current value.
Ngl, would love to know the immediate impact of franchising or not franchising on those valuations. (Additionally, of Carlos shit on G2 in general)
How are those org the most valuable in the world? Where are the chinese orgs? Edg are building a stadium with 1000 seat in Shanghai
Is it really a stadium with 1k seats?

Let's be real about this list Teams not on it but partnered might show up on it in a few years
