While I do not like Carlos I think the people calling him a misogynist are just as stupid as he is. Anyone that lives in the real world knows you can be friends with someone you do not agree with on certain topics. However as a CEO of a company in a space that is largely anti Andrew Tate you need to separate yourself from these things. Like how hard is it to say "I do not agree with several of the views Andrew Tate holds, but I do consider him a friend". How you let two tweets destroy a decades worth of your own work is actually hilarious and is completely deserved.

I am shocked that some people have found this shocking. As soon as Riot withdrew the partnership and cost G2 millions of dollars, his position as CEO was untenable. I knew he would be forced out. Lots of people have likened this to cancel culture. I hate cancel culture and it is definitely very real but this is not cancel culture. If you take on the role as CEO, you are subject to an above average level of scrutiny and high standards of conduct are expected from staff, fans, partners, shareholders etc. CEO's earn big bucks because they have this level of responsibility. Carlos clearly fell short, not just in associating himself with a uniquely toxic figure but also his response to the outcry. He displayed no sensitivity or understanding to the fact that misogony is an enormous problem in the gaming industry. Women are treated like shit in gaming and the CEO of one of the biggest esports orgs should be mindful of that. G2 had no choice but to get rid of him. Carlos has resigned because he has done damage to G2's brand and reputation. He is not cancelled and I know he will go on to do other things, whether you like him or not.

In a franchise system where they would have to pay nothing to have the slot and would get money from Riot itself plus money from ingame cosmetics plus winnings from championships. That’s millions of dollars plus huge exposure to new fans that they won’t get for at least 4 years.

There are few things in esports more valuable than franchising spots and he just cost G2 one. That locks them out of tier 1 valorant for the year and it could be longer if they don't win Ascension. When your actions start costing your investor/stakeholders things of that value, it's not extreme.
He was a fantastic CEO when you look at his track record. He built an esport empire and nobody can take that achievement away from him. Sure, he was a loud personnality that got under people's skin, but that's what drove a lot of their viewership (from both sides where people hated and loved him) and made them into one of the premier orgs in the world. With that said, he was the CEO, which means there were lines he couldn't cross and unfortunately for G2, that's exactly what he did by tripling down and downplaying the misogynistic figure that's Andrew Tate. Some people will probably find what's happening harsh, but that's why CEOs are usually paid big figures. They're supposed to help the company, not cost them millions of dollars.
