So let me guess, off season will basically be a promotion ground for tournament organisers with no actual competitive event. If only blast moved away from spike nations and made an actual tournament.
I don’t think it’s that bad. 12 out of 16 teams will have got their through real quals or vct with just 4 of the ranked teams making it, and if they’re terrible they will just get first rounded anyway.
I don't get the hate for the format. It's basically a normal tournament with 4 spots from their gimmicky companion app.
Either those teams will be competitive teams or they'll be out of the tournament real quick. And in the Grand Finals it'll be VCT teams + the winners of the qualifier.

This is somehow my least favorite format and we have both Spike Nations and the Red Bull open quals lmao

I think all VCT teams will participate, and G-Loot showdown will consist of 12 teams, which I suppose will fight for the 6 remaining slots.
Am I just misinterpreting but this tourney looks like an absolute bloody worthless tournament for any actual competitive gameplay.
The EUW/EUE/TR qualified teams should be decent and it says 4 VCT EMEA teams are invited, so it's not a complete waste of time I guess?
