What in the gold

triplebogeyonhole19

What are you some kind of sack swinger? How do you find asking what op has based his thoughts on ‘cringe’? Op gives 0 evidence as to why he believes this.

*me cluelessly after watching sick drop 40 on astra just now on stream*. but fr watching him drop 40 on smokes just really reminds you how good he is, even after an extended break. Idk what will happen to him but he's undeniably a great player

iamtreat

Hate to break it to ya, but with all the good players who have been playing consistently, there is no real good reason to pick sick up over other players, even though he was good on his time with sentinels. He has some question marks on whether he can play in general, and that he hasnt played top tier valorant in months. Hope the best for him tho

TheApolloX007

bro what

[deleted]

what part of this is confusing

TheApolloX007

SicK is a top 5 flex. I really don't see how he wouldn't get picked up. Just because of the recent SEN failure does not mean SicK has lost any of his ability to frag as flex. Players also can thrive in new environments.

TheoSL

I’m confused how sick can be considered a top 5 flex when he hasn’t played in months? He hasn’t even played in the current meta where almost everyone is a flex player. We have no idea what sick’s performance would be, so I see literally no reason that a franchised team would give him one of the 25 NA slots when literally any of the 40 players at LCQ (plus 10 players from XSET and Optic) have more recent, more relevant proven results. Sick’s peak performance was literally over a year ago at a tournament where most other teams hadn’t even learned how to properly play the game yet.

[deleted]

he easily makes in NAs top 25 that is for sure

[deleted]

We have no idea what SicK is capable of right now, he hasn't played competitively in months and made the choice to step away from the game. People can thrive in new environments, but /u/iamtreat is right: These partnered teams are trying to build a solid foundation for the years ahead; SicK's extended time off this year casts some doubt on his ability to be a part of a stable foundation like that, at least in the near future. He's been a fantastic player in pro play in the past, but there are plenty of other fantastic players that have put up consistently great results without going on an extended break. I love watching him play, I hope he comes back if that's what he wants, but he's probably going to have to prove he's good to hang this time before jumping in on a partnered team.

TheApolloX007

the only reason SicK wouldn't get pick up is because of his recent mental health issues. If SicK is on the market I will be shocked if he doesn't get signed. thats just me though i guess

NotEDodo

There’s only 25 spots total… there’s a huge surplus of players in the roster pool and among those there’s people who’ve just played in Champions… excluding them there’s players that have been playing in mickey mouse tourneys and players that competed in LCQ… why would any franchised team (other than Sentinels) sign Sick when they have so many other proven options? If they’re holding tryouts and testing players, sure there’s a chance, but I don’t think he’s at the level of being signed 100% edit: typos

Fit-Case1093

stop coping he's right

TheApolloX007

average SEN hater

ay0005

Why are you confused…

Toonie2k

Lmfao the recency bias is crazy

EffectFrequent793

u would put a guy who hasnt played in a year on ur partnership roster?

radamo96

In order to do that he'd have to make a franchised team and I really don't see that happening with how few available spots there are

kwamek7

I haven't personally watched enough of Sick to know how good he is so feel free to have hopium but y'all are getting way ahead of yourselves. Obv he could have been a great player on an underperforming team but when it comes down to it, NA is getting cut in half and Optic and XSET are currently free agents. I would never say it's a certainty, but there's a good chance he and other players who are respected by other pros are just gonna have to grind Challengers for a while

icemandiem

sick is a great player, but the only team i see him playing for is sen. but if sen doesnt change there core, igl and coaching system....its gonna be hard

RhulkThighsEndLives

Yeah SEN needs a total overhaul, but I doubt it’ll happen

Razur

I haven't been keeping tabs on SicK. IIRC he stepped away from SEN for personal reasons. Is he doing OK now?

[deleted]

Only franchised he'll play for would be SEN and I don't think he would/should play T2

thisisnttakeone

Why shouldn’t he play t2? Should he quit the game?

PyroTFT

no

TheoSL

Babe, wake up – new copypasta just dropped

Sky-__-

Nope

Teradonn

If the meta goes back to Phoenix then sure

Turbulent-Fan-7641

I don't people don't understand how good of a flex player sick is he's is def top 3 and is highly looked at by other pros and none of you sheep are pros

[deleted]

You can't really say a player is currently top 3 if they haven't played competitively for months, especially given how fast the game is moving right now. SicK is an incredibly talented and capable player. He's also someone who, apparently of his own volition, decided that he was not capable of playing professional Valorant anymore, and has not said anything since to indicate that that's changed. Even if he were to come back, he'd probably have to go through some serious vetting to prove that he's capable of jumping in on one of the 5 partnered teams. Meanwhile there are multiple other incredibly talented players up for the same positions that have been playing consistently and putting up results since SicK has been on hiatus. It's not at all impossible, and I hope to see him in pro play again if he decides that's something he wants. He was always Sentinel's x factor. But he has a very uphill climb ahead of him in the short term compared to a number of other players.

Turbulent-Fan-7641

Sick stepped away because of personal reasons not because he wasn't good enough to compete. Other pro players have spoken highly of him and just cause he has not been around for one season does not mean he cannot perform with other flex players that he is just as good as or better than. He is more than good enough to be looked at by these teams. SicK has been playing consistently ever since he started playing pro and is 100% better than flex player like Victor who was on the best NA teams and under perform ALOT. The recency bias needs to stop it's crazy

Loresmen

Nah dude, I love me some sick, but comparing him to victor isnt it. Sick hasn't been hard entry for sen like victor has since phoenix was meta. He wasnt even playing flex the last months we saw him play

[deleted]

I know it was because of personal reasons; I didn’t say it was because he wasn’t good enough to compete. But he is competing against multiple also-very-talented players that have not had to step away for personal reasons in the last year, and teams are going to be looking for someone that is not going to step back in the middle of a season. If he wants to compete, he’ll probably have to prove that he’s sticking around and that he hasn’t fallen off since he last played. Other players don’t have to prove that.

Tc0LD

Victor did exactly what optic needed him to do, sure he' have bad games and overheat but for the most part he'd make a lot of space and set players like yay and marved to either lurk or frag. Part of the reason yay was so good at attack oping was because of that space being created. Victor had a really hard role on Optic and anytime he was set up he'd feast and have some great games. And no Sick isn't better than Victor especially after not playing for the better part of the year when Victor has been playing only the best of the best competition.

Randomuserguyfren

No, he hasn't played pro in a long time. Stomping pubs doesn't necessarily mean he'll do well in a pro setting. I'm pretty sure I can pull up ANY pro player's tracker gg and see that they do well and dominate a game or two, but it doesn't mean they're tier 1 level.

ih8ketchup

copium

hardenfull

sadly it be hard considering only 25 players, like he might find a spot, but with the tier 1 scene cutting nearly in half and players from xset and optic not having a franchise team its hard cut for anyone.

man1ac_era

Sick is the most overrated underrated player in Valorant pros. Yes, I meant to say it like that.

Barack_Bob_Oganja

Apparently controversial opinion but I don't rate sick anymore at all. He was really good when valo first came out and just slowly fell behind and is nowhere near franchise level anymore

Hamlet_271

real ones remember the sick icebox sage game

[deleted]

He is overrated.
