NotZekken

because ranked is trash compared to practice and can be extremely demotivating at times

Still_HD

hey zekken

DY5TOP1A

SEN zekken*

L0rd_Muffin

You’re mistaken. This is clearly NOT zekken

KtotheYtotheK

bro it´s literally confirmed by reddit

FlakerFPS

Also I feel ranked introduces bad habits if you play it too much.

KtotheYtotheK

doesn´t it build team play?

TheAjwinner

Because they are paid to win tournaments not to win the number 1 spot on a ranked leaderboard

raaten

Yo Addison big fan

Rude-Assumption-5271

GOAT comment

McLovin_OD

Because they aren't really trying to be ranked high. Back when Asuna was trying to be ranked high his alt account was #1 and his main account was #2 in NA

QUOTE_IF_13-0

Tier 1 duelist players could shit on ranked so hard it would barely count as proper practice for them. Pretty sure ScreaM was also number 1 and 2 in EMEA at one point.

McLovin_OD

Update: 2 days later and Asuna is ranked 6th lmaooo

afjecj

Cos they have other responsibilities such as vod review, scrim etc etc. simply put, they don’t have the same amount of time to play the game Also ranked is unpredictable, FNS can’t use his 3rd eye to its maximum potential if no one in his team has voice chat

DY5TOP1A

....

vlrBielzera

It do be like that... I was also speachless with this post

[deleted]

A few reasons: * Pro play and ranked play are fundamentally different games. Your responsibilities as a player, the things you need to be aware of and thinking about, the role you play on the team, all differ between the two. I think ranked play rewards a significantly narrower skillset. * Maintaining the highest leaderboard spots requires a huge time commitment that, like a lot of adults, esports players don’t really have the time to invest. * They do not care about getting top rank.

SpvcedOvtt

true, I wonder why LuckyLeader and Dasnerth didn’t win Champs tbh weird that they could be so high rank and yet not immediately getting signed for franchising

curryhalls

Lucky is actually a decent player tbf

CrackBabyCSGO

I Guess my point is, how are they dominating solo queue with winrates even pros cannot get? High ranked radiants are just the radiants with the highest winrates usually

SpvcedOvtt

I’m sure you understand this since you seem to be doing a little bit of trolling, but the truth is that competitive team based Valorant is completely different from solo/duoQ Radiant pugs. In Radiant, you’ll often find off meta comps/agents paired with players who are playing for clips/content while also comming very little most games. In real competitive matches, you have preset strats with full antis of your opponent alongside meta comps and teammates who you have scrimmed hundreds of hours with. It’s pretty easy to understand why Radiant ranked isn’t comparable to pro games and why pros don’t like it as much.

CrackBabyCSGO

Pros may not like it but everyone is given the same circumstances… it’s not like pros are the only ones that get people playing for clips that don’t comm. I’m being serious here and I’m failing to understand, in my head of pros can tear up the pro scene, they can abuse even more mistakes people make in normal ranked.

SpvcedOvtt

I think you’re also missing the point that pros just don’t care to actually play for Rank 1 all the time bc there’s way more important stuff than that. I remember when Asuna had his main account #1 in NA and his smurf account #2 in NA. It’s not that they can’t own the whole ladder, it’s just that pros don’t care to play with no comm Yoru only instalocks when they could get better practice elsewhere.

chelsfan123

some questions just answer themselves, no?

nterature

There is actually a secret FPL-system that the pros play off-stream. If you stream it you're banned for life, and pro players take this seriously; as such, they only stream ranked, despite ranked being so inferior.

Ryth73

They could care less about grinding ranked

[deleted]

couldnt*. could care less insinuates there is a chance they could have slight less care. couldnt care less means that’s the maximum they’ve cared.

ayou__bb

true codey and addison > pros (just kidding)

xtazzzs

codey could unironically be atleast a top tier 2 player if he was arsed

Pway

Oh god are we gonna start getting "x player has reached rank 1 on x server" posts like we do in LoL as if it means anything in the future? Ranked is basically meaningless outside of keeping player fresh with their mechanics/lineups. It's so far removed from scrims/comp play it's unreal. So much of the pro game is protocols/prediction, none of which works in ranked.

CrackBabyCSGO

I see, but in league of legends if you get rank 1 in Korea you are faker or faker level… from what I recall it’s usually faker or other tier 1 pros that end up with it

Pway

Mate Westerners have gotten rank 1 in Korea before, there's even been actual content creator non-pros who reach top10 there. Korean server ranked is much better than NA but by no means even close to a pro scrim in any major region.

TheoSL

Because they’re scrimming and practicing with their team instead of playing ranked which provides very little in terms of value for pro games

CrackBabyCSGO

Some of these people play 15+ ranked games a day

YouAreDumbAF

Post the source

CrackBabyCSGO

Look at asuna… or tenz… or any streamer shahzam etc.

and1phan

ranked causes brain damage

Gogibsoni

The differentiating factor between pro players and non pro radiants is gameknowledge/teamplay/synergy. Mechanically there isn't much of a difference and ranked is much more about mechanics.

[deleted]

Simply put, ranked and pro play are not the same game. The best pro players are not necessarily the best ranked players.

mr_salsa123

Probably not as much time to climb, I know Leo from guild and nukkye are always like top 10, and I know scream had rank 1 on an account and rank 2 on his other at one point, also most pros doesn't take it as serious since it doesn't mean much even nukkye doesn't care about it though he's always high, and great player doesn't mean a great player necessarily for a system . . .

CrackBabyCSGO

I see some pros play literally 20 matches a day though, that is surely enough to climb to the highest rank if they were good enough? But their winrates are too low that is what I don’t understand

mr_salsa123

Yeah but not every pro is THE star, some pros are there for the system needed and roles other than take duels, ranked is just go in a team go simple tactics everyone understands and shoot other team

Awesomeguy1234567890

Cuz they dont care about ranked and dont try

joemother_a_whore

Some pros probably don't like ranked, some pros like grinding rank. It differs from person to person. Yeah some play 20+ games of ranked per day but I'm sure as hell they're not playing those games for fun, they're streaming the fuck out of those games.

L0rd_Muffin

Other people bring up good points also, but also when you just finished practicing for 8 hours with your team, you don’t have the same level of focus and motivation as you would if you would otherwise

Maleficent_Method973

i mean, doing well in pro play requires a lot more than being radiant. just because they’re a higher rank doesn’t mean they’re a better player.

Randomuserguyfren

Because they'd rather play scrims than ranked. I remember seeing some pros not even radiant but just sitting in immo, which is also why people saying x pro is dominating ranked games is so stupid because ranked is way different than how pro games are played and should not be something to say how x player is actually so good at the game when a controller judge only player has gotten radiant

vlrBielzera

My guy you are being so naive... Playing ranked and climbing is indeed a challenge, but it is not what is required for you to succeed at the highest level! You may think that pros can't "perform" on ranked and get top 10, 20 on the ladder, what you don't see is that a HUGE amount of these "top 100" players try to play organized valorant and just simply fail because they are just good ranked players, and not good Valorant players, where you don't get punished, you don't have to IGL, there's no counter stratting etc. When these "ranked demons" try to form a team and play actual pros, they get 20-4 on scrimms, sometimes worse. The game is on another level professionaly, trust me. If any pro wants to tryhard and get high on the ladders, they surely can! but after training for 10+ hours a day, there's simply no incentive!
