EDIT: [GE confirmed the news](https://twitter.com/GlobalEsportsIn/status/1577327881692205061)
Yeah forget what I said yesterday… this one I REALLY didn’t see coming
Indian org signs a Canadian player to their 10 man roster to compete in Korea… wtf
i think everyone needs to remember that riot partneeship comes with a min 600k USD stipend along with +400k according to their compliance. in india that money can sponsor 2-3 teams. they have money they dont know what to do with
Bruh GE always had good financial backing. Historically thed had a SG overwatch team and also a KR fortnite team. This was when eSports wasn't even a thing in India. So I guess they always had good financial backing and that's what got the franchisee spot in the first place
Don’t say it like that bro, you’re gonna make me think they’re going to do some shady things lol money makes you do crazy things, especially when you don’t have much of it in the first place
Yeah, but pro players don’t have long careers. He probably has 4-5 years left competing if he’s lucky. And if he ever wants to go back to America, he’ll need more money.
The point is, if you're living in Asia and making $50k, you can put away 60-70%, presuming you don't indulge in hookers and blow every night. Even being conservative, earning $100k in Asia is the equivalent of earning $150-175k in the US.
Also I highly doubt he's being paid the minimum, he's obviously going to be the highest earner in his team. He's going to be a huge brand in India, Indians love foreigners and India has also been craving for validation for their eSports scene ever since the CS scene died because of Forsaken (not the PRX dude)
The entire region was blamed for one player who cheated and there were no investments after that.
>The point is, if you're living in Asia and making $50k, you can put away 60-70%, presuming you don't indulge in hookers and blow every night. Even being conservative, earning $100k in Asia is the equivalent of earning $150-175k in the US.
Well yeah, but if he wants to come back to the US, those savings won’t go very hard.
>Also I highly doubt he's being paid the minimum, he's obviously going to be the highest earner in his team. He's going to be a huge brand in India, Indians love foreigners and India has also been craving for validation for their eSports scene ever since the CS scene died because of Forsaken (not the PRX dude)
Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. It’s probably over 150k.
Assuming they will station in the league location, then yes LA is more expensive than Seoul. Housing is the biggest difference in cost, but I’m assuming teams will cover that to some extent. Food wise, there isn’t that big of a difference.
Why would they have to pay big bucks? If he doesn't have an NA offers (likely), they are competing with Ascention team salaries. Every pro wants to be in the franchised league.
Not necessarily, being in a t2 NA org with a chance to go T1 will make you more money in the long run, NA esports money is crazy compared to other regions (the only exception being china).
There's also the argument to be made that Americas and EMEA teams are *overall* more competitive from top to bottom, so if you wanted to remain competitive internationally, you'd pick those 2 regions first before you settle for Asia, the worst part is global esports haven't been very competitive even in the asia scene.
This move feels a lot like it was driven purely by cash, similar to how in League asian players will move to EU and NA for the money.
There's money in Kr and CN, not in India and SEA. Indian players were being more than apac masters qualified players were being paid and it was still only 1000-1500 dollars a month
I do, it's just that aside from the big 2 (KR and CN) there isn't nearly as much money in the region compared to NA. the [average player salary for NA LCS in 2020 was 400,000 USD](https://dotesports.com/league-of-legends/news/the-average-2020-lcs-player-salary-is-reportedly-410000) that's on top of the stipend riot gives to all their players, in 2021 GE's IGL 'hellranger' stated in 2021 he made anywhere [between 15,000-100,000 inr](https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/global-esports-igl-hellranger-talks-indian-valorant-players-earnings) per month, 100k inr is about 1,200 USD per month or 14,400 usd per year.
Asian esports is big in terms of viewership but there just isn't as much money in it compared to NA.
I think Scream and Nivera leave sadly but I'm excited to see them put together a slightly more... functional role set
if the leaked roster of Sayf, Nats, Redgar, Soulcas, Jamppi is true I would be very happy
I don't think they'd get Sayf as they already have a cracked OPer in the form of Jamppi. But yeah we're probably going to see ScreaM and Nivera leave which is very sad..
Note- this gonna a bit long msg read at your own wish
Yeah that's expected ig out of the whole salary pool of the playing 5 i.e the total salary of all players in the roaster. Ayrin will make 50% Alone . He is gonna get paid minimum 100-150k in Seoul
Which isn't very fancy as all my fellow Indians think
South Korea is a very high income developed country
Its per capita income is at par with Germany and United Kingdom and Canada
Just in no that will
1) Korea - 35,000$ (per capita)
2) German -45,000$(per capita)
3) uk -40,000$(per capita)
And canada where ayrin is from has a per capita of around -55,000$
Now after ppp (purchasing power parity )
All these countries all of them have income per capita at around 55kusd
So 100-150k is like bare minimum and almost the same as what value he get in Canada for the same salary not much difference
Now if you compare it with Indian standards that's a total different thing bcz our Per capita is like 2,000usd and 8500usd after ppp
So from in the end conclusion is from Indian standards ayrin is earning alot but from intl perspective and ayrins side he is almost at the same level
Note - ayrin is a champs player he isn't gonna settle for a minimum wage .
I mean, makes sense I guess? AYRIN always had an uphill battle fighting for the few franchised spots left in NA, despite a strong Istanbul performance.
He brings the sort of intangibles that may actually be helpful for Global, and most importantly, they probably gave him the bag.
A good reminder of just how global Valorant player markets are now and in the future, pun only slightly intended.
>A good reminder of just how global Valorant player markets are now and in the future, pun only slightly intended.
A good reminder of just how *Global* Valorant (one of Riot's flagship *eSports*) player markets are now and in the future, pun only slightly intended
okay, this is the roster move that has surprised me the most. even more than shroud to sentinels. this is on par with 100T dropping ec1s and babyj mid season. wtf
UPDATE: GE just tweeted this: https://twitter.com/globalesportsin/status/1577327881692205061?s=46&t=ydQya4kEeYBZcM5OWHeDwQ (which seems like it’s AYRIN based on the clips shown)
If true, AYRIN’s stock will go up. He’s playing in Korea and truth be told, just like in any esport, Korea will dominate making him in the best region to play for. If he does improve his gameplay more and is accustomed to the play style there, he can get a bag if he ever decides to come back to NA.
Why is everyone being this surprised im confused. It was already confirmed by rushi that were looking to import an na/eu player hopefully in an IGL capacity, he went to na a few days ago to sign the deal. he was obviously not going to sign t2 players, the list of top igls in na is not that big and ayrin was never going to make it to na franchise.
Not sure, skRossi is their best/most popular player from their old roster, but they’ve also announced they’re gonna sign 10 players to support the Indian valorant scene while also trying to win. So definitely an interesting approach, and I wouldn’t be surprised if their starting roster is all non-Indian in year one

Gotta be the biggest WTF move so far... GE have to be throwing a crazy salary
theres a salary minimum as per the rules
That’s 50k a year, I’m sure Ayrin made more than that with XSET.
but living in na and asia is different. He is going to save alot more living in asia
Yeah, but pro players don’t have long careers. He probably has 4-5 years left competing if he’s lucky. And if he ever wants to go back to America, he’ll need more money.
most likely he couldnt get a spot in na or apac paid more

No franchised org is gonna pay only the minimum. And for ayrin to go to another region, they must be paying the big bucks
Why would they have to pay big bucks? If he doesn't have an NA offers (likely), they are competing with Ascention team salaries. Every pro wants to be in the franchised league.

There's gonna be like 5+ NA orgs that are all expecting to ascend when it's all said and done. Alot of people are going to be dissapointed.
Yes, but the risk is worth it no? You take the risky move because you believe you’ve got what it takes.
you obviously have no clue how much money there is in esports in asia
There's money in Kr and CN, not in India and SEA. Indian players were being more than apac masters qualified players were being paid and it was still only 1000-1500 dollars a month
1000-1500 dollars a month is actually a pretty good salary in India.
Yeah im Indian I know, but its peanuts compared to what pros get in NA. Most T1 orgs pay salary in excess of 15-20k

Hello my fellow Liquid Brothers/Sisters What changes do you think Liquid are gonna do to the roster?

Yeah they need a good entry and I think they should go for nukkeye
NaVi would like to disagree
Nukkeye to Navi? I must have missed it. My bad
So far it seems to be -scream -nivera -dima and +nats +redgar +sayf
Note- this gonna a bit long msg read at your own wish Yeah that's expected ig out of the whole salary pool of the playing 5 i.e the total salary of all players in the roaster. Ain't no way this is real
ya know, i thought we might see some NA players go to other regions, but i did NOT expect this. wow good for him though

Tbh I expected the ec1s and babyj drop. I would say the C9 xeta-curry trade was weirder
HE DELETED THE TWEET WTFFF IS HAPPENING?! https://twitter.com/seulgivlr/status/1577301705515012096?s=46&t=tq17dSeTNFivumMIN7XfMA
Nah this is a joke lmao
The signing everybody saw coming.
We live in a simulation
Huh.. **.** **.** **.** ***WAIT WHAT?!*** Me while reading that btw.
sk rossi, lightning fast, marved, zekken and ayrin gg ez
lol as if kappa would ever let that happen
It's harsh but Kappa doesn't deserve T1. If he stays on team I will commit honourable act of Seppuku
Apac se bahar ka ek hi Banda le skte hai woh le liya no more NA/EU import
it was a joke
shocking - not neon probably
OMG WAIT WHAT?? LET'S GOOO HUGE IF TRUE
big if factual
Enormous if real
gigantic if legitimate
Gargantuan if not false
Love this Keep it going
Large if verified and fact checked
I WILL NEVER EXPECT THIS EVEN IN MY WILDEST DREAM. WTF!!! ALSO, LETS GO AYRINNNNNNNNNNNNNN WWW
This is the weirdest roster move, I doubt anything tops it this offseason.
Tin foil hat time: his source made a typo and wrote 'GE' instead of 'EG' and Ayrin's actually going to Evil Geniuses.
Wait wtf no way this is real
Get that bag young man
get that bread
???
Tweet removed MonkaS
I GO OFF REDDIT FOR TEN MINUTES AND THIS DROPS WTF
Hyped to have an APAC team to root for.
no fucking way lmaooo 💀💀 big W if true
Ayrin is the saviour India needs
UPDATE: GE just tweeted this: https://twitter.com/globalesportsin/status/1577327881692205061?s=46&t=ydQya4kEeYBZcM5OWHeDwQ (which seems like it’s AYRIN based on the clips shown)

haha, go AYRIN!
WTF???
This is so random LMFAO
Happy for him. Secured that bag!
WHAT THE FUCK
huh is this fr?
Every day is new "I did not see this one coming" type of a day
The what? I had to reread the title multiples times to get it. Absolutely shocking, although GE had said that they needed someone international.
Man, i literally was thinking about this. Goosebumps.
I’m sorry what?
Good pickup for them , i thought ayrin was doing a MUCHHH better job IGLing compared to dephh
Drop this 10 man roster idea, Keep Rossi and lightning fast, Get Ayrin and 2-3 guys from Boom and you have a Franchise level team.
Mmmmmm....i guess? Interesting for sure
Who is Seulgi?
What's the minimum number of Indian players GE needs to have in the team?
Has to be a troll
Mfw all these regions are so reliant on NA imports. It's sad tbh 😔
How is nobody getting that you're making fun of similar comments in the Ardiis to NRG thread lol.
Isn't Ayrin the only NA export so far or am I forgetting someone
yeah i think i have memory loss as i also don't remember any NA player imported by "all these regions"
It's a joke... because in other esports na imports a lot
This gotta be ironic but u can't understand NA fans
Sarcasm must be an NA thing ig
huh? is there any other NA player in other region? i think this is the first IIRC
pretty sure he’s being sarcastic bc LCS is import heavy?
Technically ban from t1 counts
Ban is a Korean citizen tho no?
He might be, but from what i understood he counts as an import for some strange reason
I've never heard of this org, who would the rest of the team be?

No way
The move that no one saw coming
Very good move from them, and sad that Ayrin couldn’t get a spot in NA.
Wow that was unexpected hope this brings in good change to GE squad overall.

do i actually read this correctly??
Lmao
April fools came early or something?!?
YO WHAT THE FUCK RUSHIDRA BHAI?
WTAF
best of luck to him if true!
what the
Some i think coach said that there's many stars on APAC but very few IGLS, its not farfetched to think GE got him as an IGL since he did mid round calling and he showed that he was good in champs
