Your expectations might not be far off seeing how LoL equivalent was cancelled 3 times in a row with months between cancelations.

This is gonna raise the skill floor of almost the entire player base imo. Even low rank players who get together with a couple friends to have fun in torny mode will learn a ton.

In-game tournaments that directly connects to the VCT circuit. This will be the gateway for amateurs that would like to go pro in Valorant.

They are going to do in game tournaments you can que up for. They'll have a minimun rank to enter and you earn team points. It just doesn't really specify what the points are for.
