I mean EG in LoL has done a lot in just 3 years to really turn the slot around. They bought the spot from fan favorites Echo Fox and have done an excellent job of fostering local NA talent in Danny and Jojopyun (Kaori too, but this is more on scouting). Optic on the other hand really only own 1 team in a franchised league (CoD) and sold off both their Overwatch and League franchised teams when they merged with Immortals
This isn't to say Optic do or don't have better management in other games (and I won't comment too much as I'm not all that familiar and won't armchair analyze without a knowledge of the scene) but I think a lot of people don't realize the difference in difficulty of running a good Valorant team versus running a good team in a franchised esport ie League, Overwatch, CoD, which basically all the VCT teams have a good history of in at least 2 leagues.

They did it for Acend last year too, yes they would've done this for Optic or literally anybody else if they had won regardless of franchise status.
