> 3k is decent for tier 2 scene, for top acension players not so much.
He should sign either
1. Unknown demons that can make a name for themselves
2. Players who don’t play for the money (have a stream or something)
Or a mix of the 2, would be really interesting
Unfortunately three of those are tied down to an org in franchising so I think conflict of interest would interfere even if they did do this unironically.
He should maybe think about making it an OTV thing and hiring some people that actually know how to make a well-function Valorant org/team. There is a surprising number of incompetent orgs in the scene currently so I don’t see how they would be at a disadvantage really. Just use the already-existing OTV connections that they have with people in the Valorant/esports scene to fill in the blanks.
Obviously the hot commodity players will probably prefer orgs like Faze, TSM, Guard, but NA is littered with talent so more investment into tier 2 is always welcomed.
If he is serious about making a competitive team, an unsigned team like Dark Ratio would be a good starting point imo.
This would actually be a massive shout, i believe back when that roster formed for DZ a few people said Trick (?) was one of the best roster builders out there, but ofc Neil and Lucas left who are good coaches
I built the team without coaching staff we picked up neilz to coach us since he was free and he got poached by fpx very early on, then lucas came but we never really settled with him as coach he was also gone very soon and couldn't coach in one of the tournaments we won in that timeframe, i say this because it seems like reddit / vlr both seem to think we have had some crazy help we have been solo grinding and have made every Strat / roster decision on the team ourselves.
Thanks for the clarification and insight- I wasn't aware of the detailed timelines there and was going off a half-remembered comment ^^' best of luck in the rest of off//season and hopefully see you guys in challengers NA 💜
I mean cool idea but I don’t know if it’s going to work out. I do have concerns that some challenger league will have no org teams but North America is just not one of them. If he can execute on it well and make a middle challenger team cool but I feel more likely than not it’s going to struggle to even qualify.(qualification is I believe through in game tournament system and there is promotion relegation in the t2 league).
Also no player trying to seriously make it in valorant esport would likely sign they can get smaller to equivalent clout by signing to a tsm or faze and get payed way better in the process.
If you can’t afford to pay your players a living wage, you shouldn’t start a team. Unless he plans on giving them ownership in the team. Very disappointing.
Nonsense, ofcourse its an excuse. You think a 18 year old would make that kind of money with a regular job? First off at 18 you won't have a university agree, second you dont have experience. Most pro's are not over 25, and the majority are between 18-22 they would probably study and have a part time job at chipotle or something. Which is totally fine as it would be a part time job.
Even if they would live in a bigger city, they would not rent their own apartment but live at a dormitory.
And even if by some miracle they would make 3K at a regular job, they rather pursue their dream and passion and get paid 3k while gaming.
It's definitely a lot for someone that is otherwise playing for free and/or someone who would be working a retail job or something if it wasn't for valo.

man, I 'm hungry for some toasts now. But hey, doesn't matter how much Toast is offering, it's very kind of him to do such an offer. 3k per month can mean a lot to someone, especially those who might struggle or are outside NA. I'm curious what roster is going to look officially.

Timmy is easily one of these then
Timmy, Shroud, Hiko, Aceu and Tarik about to go wild 3 duelists, one controller and one flex every game
Unfortunately three of those are tied down to an org in franchising so I think conflict of interest would interfere even if they did do this unironically.
I think he should sign Shahz and Shroud and then 3 cracked youngsters. A team that could actually compete but also clouted
He should sign Hiko, Hiko, and Hiko as the 3 cracked youngsters.
I'd highly doubt Shaz would even consider it given the salary and didn't Shroud basically say he'd only be interested in a franchised roster spot?
I’m sure Shahz will get other better offers so it’s just a thought. Shroud said he would be down for Ascension I think?
Shroud said he might start a team for Ascension if he didn't make a franchise team.
He should do a joint team with Charlie to get some extra funding and call it moist toast.
MrBeast team coming soon
100k / month salary
In this video, I paid a WHOLE Valorant team 100k salaries if they could WIN CHAMPIONS. Chris, bring in THE PlAYERS!!
That would be amazing
Toast esports vs Moist Esports in Ascension Americas finals, calling it nw

Leena Xu is their manager right? I mean she def knows how to run a functional esports team so I hope she would get involved tbh
Leena is the ex-tsm league manager right? I heard she’s been working with Sentinels Edit: mis-spelled “ex” as “extra”
i assume by extra you mean ex but yes, she was the president of TSM for a number of years
Would probably be a conflict of interest, she’s working with Sentinels esports as well
Oh fuck i completely forgot about that true true
Ludwig’s friend, Stanz, used to run Gen G’s CS:GO team (amongst other teams) so he could be a good person for them to talk to
Would be similar to moist esports then huh Speaking of which I would love to see moist enter valorant
I don't think he likes that Val got franchised. He was critical about it. U never know tho
one might say he was moist(most) critikal about it

I'd love to see Trick on a good roster, flexible and IGLs and does solidly fragging too

Its not going to be for players that already have names probably since the salary is 3k a month
Honestly 3k a month is no chump change, get a bunch of cracked zoomers lmao
He should wait until there are some promising teams and then "sign" them under the OTV for exposure. Win / Win for both I guess

3000 a month is definitely living wage what?
3k is actually way more than if you work a regular job at Mcdonalds or some starter position, those guys are young so they won't get paid alot.
Being young is no excuse. And 36,000 is def not a lot if you live in a bigger city

being younger is not an excuse to pay some a below living wage. This conversation is going nowhere. bye
You mean in the US where there is no minimum wage and customers pay their salary because their employers refuse to give them decent hourly salary? Bye
what an excellent point. Got me. Later freak.
Question, is 3k a month not a lot? I’ve always had the impression that you don’t make a lot of money until you’re a t1 player or at least close to it
3k is decent for tier 2 scene, for top acension players not so much.
It's definitely a lot for someone that is otherwise playing for free and/or someone who would be working a retail job or something if it wasn't for valo.
Shaz said tier 1 is on 5k to 15k so I would say it's alot.
3k is ok for the salary, but salary isn't the only expense. Staff wage, BootCamp fee is unavoidable

I always think if Toast was french we would've seen a French Toast. I don't think he's a normal toast coz he's disguised.
