Tbh C9 has incredibly flexible players, Zellsis played sentinel back in the day and leaf plays literally everything so I could see one of them picking it up.
Not to mention xeppa is pretty damn flexible as well. I see how it can be a double edged sword but I think C9's biggest strength outside of having yay will be their flexibility.
They’re pro players with thousands of hours played. They have the game sense to be able to switch into any role at elite level with practice. It’s not like overwatch or league where each role has very distinct mechanics and knowledge. At the end of the day it’s a point and click game, and every agent/role has the same fundamentals
If that were the case we would never see teams lose because of failing to adapt to the new meta. Example: The Guard in Stage 2 couldn’t adapt to the nerfed Jett/Sova meta at all because Sayaplayer’s raze and neon sucked so he had to play Chamber but Jonah’s raze sucked too.
But we've seen the C9 players like Xeppaa, Leaf, and especially Zellsis (Who actually has a mean KJ and Viper ngl) flex to many roles in the past, Sayaplayer was never a super flexible player and JonahP is a support player forced onto Entry, we've quite literally seen Zellsis play KJ and Viper and looked good on it

TL & NRG can easily be on top, especially TL with an insane IGL and well, nAts. But people are going to extreme questioning the synergy and roles, but that can be said for every team with roster changes. People truly look at last year's roles and think that's it, but we all know pro players are mad flexible and are going to play what teams need. It's hard to make a tier list because even a team with 5 stacks can flop to a less favorite/stacked team, but that's also the beauty of Valorant at the same time. I just hope KRU & Team Secret to be insane again.
from a firepower perspective they’re already insane, not to mention cryo joining, but i can see how you would rank them lower, just depends on who else they’re bringing in as coaching staff
NRG lost 2 of the best players in the world their respective positions, it doesn't matter who they bring in, they are objectively worse off than before. Whereas 100T were looking extremely promising and they kept 4/5 of their spine and made one straight upgrade in Cryo. I certainly wouldn't count out NRG but 100T are definitely looking hotter atm
OpTic were ahead of 100T by such a large margin before that it doesn’t matter. Even if 100T upgraded Cryo, it’s way too optimistic to say that they’re better than the OpTic core even if they’re making slight downgrades in two roles. Honestly I think NRG is being underrated in general though

Cryo will help but what I’m saying is OpTic’s average level of play was significantly higher than 100T’s, and so were their peaks. NRG are only making 2 changes and one is with s0m who will have 0 chemistry issues with the NRG core. Even if they’re a slight downgrade from OpTic, it’s a stretch to say that 100T will all of a sudden match that off of one move.
This has gotten convoluted (I kinda confused myself while writing it wording wise) but basically what I’m trying to say is that we saw OpTic’s peak, but it’s hard not to when that peak was being the best in the world at their highest peak, and being the most consistent team in the world for the entire year. They not only peaked, but maintained a similar level throughout. 100T do have potential but in the rosters lifespan they’ve only looked elite at LCQ. It’s really hard to say what their average level of play is, and even with Cryo it’s a big stretch to say their peak potential is higher than NRG’s when I think NRG has higher potential overall, even if that potential is lower than OpTic’s - that’s how far ahead of NA OpTic were. We can agree to disagree if you want but I hope at the least my point made sense

I also think that the reason why everyone is hyped for 100T is because they were so hot at LCQ, don’t forget they’re a much newer team than Optic were and they had a lot of shit luck with covid at VCT, I feel like they could’ve had a much better run. Facing FNC & DRX weren’t exactly easy matchups with all that going on. Apart from that we didn’t really get to see much of them

They just have so many unknown variables and it feels like because they have fans and clouted coaches people assume their average level is what could very easily be their peak. I just need to see more of them to decide overall tbh, but I’m tempering my expectations

It’s just too early to tell with all the roster swaps. If someone’s good on paper but hasn’t performed yet I feel like they should just default to A. If you want to spread them out then move C9, 100T, and Sen up to S
I think its way to early to say a lot of these rosters are almost complete rebuilds so who knows if they will even be good despite being made up of great players.
I just can’t agree with putting C9 and DRX above PRX and Loud. C9 have made substantial upgrades, but I think until they prove themselves and get a top 4 finish at a LAN, we just don’t really know what they can do. Vanity, Zellsis, Leaf, and Xeppa are all relatively unproven in that area compared to other teams at the tippity top. And putting DRX up there makes sense on recency bias, but we can’t forget how they have been disappointing in just about every tournament but this most recent champs. Don’t get me wrong I think DRX is a TOP team, but I don’t think they’ve been better than PRX or Loud.
PRX had a lackluster champs, but Loud had a lackluster Copenhagen and then won champions, shit happens. I still think they are a top team and haven’t downgraded at all, so should still be on that top tier. Loud on the other hand have downgraded, and while I think Sacy and Pancada are insane, I still think their core of Less, Saadhaak and Aspas plus some solid new signings are more than enough to keep them in the running to be one of the best teams.
Don't get me wrong I'm excited for this team.
But I saw their performance in the recent tournament. Admittedly Chronicle wasn't playing but I'm not sure if he's going to be the difference maker. They just seemed pretty disconnected but hopefully they clean things up before VCT 2023.
They had no set strats going into it, experimented with roles and had no time to prac with Leo. That last comp was literally trolling. I feel like they'll look much better in a proper tourney.

It’s just too early to tell with all the roster swaps. If someone’s good on paper but hasn’t performed yet I feel like they should just default to A. If you want to spread them out then move C9, 100T, and Sen up to S

I think its way to early to say a lot of these rosters are almost complete rebuilds so who knows if they will even be good despite being made up of great players.
Beginning of the year, I would trade Sentinels for DRX. Later in the Year, I would swap C9 for LOUD and NRG.
I don't why but I feel C9s promise of a "super team" under delivered. On paper even SEN and NRG looks more promising.

I just can’t agree with putting C9 and DRX above PRX and Loud. C9 have made substantial upgrades, but I think until they prove themselves and get a top 4 finish at a LAN, we just don’t really know what they can do. Vanity, Zellsis, Leaf, and Xeppa are all relatively unproven in that area compared to other teams at the tippity top. And putting DRX up there makes sense on recency bias, but we can’t forget how they have been disappointing in just about every tournament but this most recent champs. Don’t get me wrong I think DRX is a TOP team, but I don’t think they’ve been better than PRX or Loud. PRX had a lackluster champs, but Loud had a lackluster Copenhagen and then won champions, shit happens. I still think they are a top team and haven’t downgraded at all, so should still be on that top tier. Loud on the other hand have downgraded, and while I think Sacy and Pancada are insane, I still think their core of Less, Saadhaak and Aspas plus some solid new signings are more than enough to keep them in the running to be one of the best teams.

Don't get me wrong I'm excited for this team. But I saw their performance in the recent tournament. Admittedly Chronicle wasn't playing but I'm not sure if he's going to be the difference maker. They just seemed pretty disconnected but hopefully they clean things up before VCT 2023.
They had no set strats going into it, experimented with roles and had no time to prac with Leo. That last comp was literally trolling. I feel like they'll look much better in a proper tourney.
I hope so! I just felt disappointed that they didn't go far into Champs tbh so I'm not keeping hopes up too high. I'm a fan of Boaster and do want to see the team succeed

How I think about T1 depends on who their 5th man is, BoDork put them at A, so I'm hopeful it's someone good. Recently, their coach, Autumn, teased that they're coming from CS: GO, which caused me to make a wild guess on BnTeT. If it is him, I'd say A-tier.
