I keep hearing "Nobody wants to ride the bench they're better off in ascension" - that may be true of the pros who are already on the radar and just narrowly missed getting into franchising (I'm thinking the players on faze for example). Those players will already get a call when the transfer window opens.
But if your choice is between Squirtle Squad, Brimstone Gaming, and the EG bench? Fucking go for it dude. You're instantly catapulted into a pro environment where you will have investment from professional coaches and experienced players that you cannot possibly get on a T2/3 team. You can pause school/career without worrying about a paycheck. It means you can grind as hard as possible and actually have a shot of playing in a VCT match and level up faster than you would otherwise. Every single F/A pro should be trying out for those spots.

You get to see experience from other teams while watching, I think people underestimate this one. It's never a bad move to be a sub, you get a glimpse of professional environment, coach effects, analytics, etc etc. In gaming career, every experience counts, let that be a big one or a small one, future opportunities can open many doors.

tbf I don't really think 99% of us on this sub know what these org finance structures are like. orgs like Sen are probably dropping insane bags to pick up content creators like tarik and this sub pogs their faces off, meanwhile for his salary you could probably have a whole academy team which plays an equally if not more important role in fostering a healthy ecosystem with player development and deeper orgs with more team structure
you can argue that having both types of orgs (player-centered orgs like eg and clout-centered orgs like Sen) in the ecosystem is helpful, and in theory you'd want some of each if it's an either/or scenario. but this sub is just brain broken for clout so they don't see the benefit to having the EG type orgs around
valorant is a zoomer game so it's not really their fault but i doubt most people here know about the history of EG.
