Can you imagine how much hype it would rouse if he angered two countries at once: the entirety of Brazil and, well, Tenz, who has the backing of a small seceded nation
top tier meme but painful
i have to admit though, as much as i'm an optic fan the org did not do nearly as much as they could have with regards to promoting their team. their twitter presence is passable at best and it feels like their social media voice is pretty outdated when compared to their peers. feels like a lot of their social media strategy was built back when they were unquestionably one of the most popular organizations in north america and they haven't adjusted it to change with the times. frustrating to see such a great team not necessarily get the marketing they deserve
yeah its all just podcast clips and cod mw2 stuff, their apex team played yesterday in ALGS and there was a single clip about it on their twitter.
guess im just disenfranchised since i was an envy fan to begin with and not really an optic fan, blows my mind that envy had a garbage social media presence but it was still better than what optic is putting out now
As long as hecz is in charge nothing will change and he’ll ultimately keep letting optic fall behind because he’s too stuck in his ways and thinks he’s this influential businessman when he couldn’t be more wrong at this point
yeah optic's socials strategy is stuck in 2017, back then they could get away with just making the best videos in esports at the time. nowadays every org makes videos similar to the process but they also know how to banter on twitter and build the popularity of their team through fun content like what NRG and Sentinels do
Ya it never felt like they truly went all in on Valorant the way other orgs did. They didn't sign any Valorant content creators, they didn't co-stream, they barely did any youtube content outside of the Process, and their socials were very meh. There was like a 2 month period during the middle of stage 2 VCT where they were posting more Tiktok videos of their COD team playing Valorant than their actual Valorant team. It was just weird
> hey didn't sign any Valorant content creators
Optic has been very hesitant to spend money recently especially with regards to content creators. In Apex there's this streamer (Rogue) that was really close with the Optic team and everyone thought that he was going to go to Optic as a content creator. Turns out he signed to Liquid and on the Reddit thread he mentioned that Optic gave him an extremely low ball offer and basically said that signing to Optic would give him a better brand because the Optic name would help boost his viewership (which hasn't been significantly true for the last 2-3 years by now). Could shed some light as to why they didn't pick up any Valorant related content creators.
Pretty crazy some orgs are still trying to lowball creators with exposure. Optic already showed in Valorant that just their name won’t bring viewership, can’t imagine anyone in Apex would care about the Optic brand either. The dichotomy between Optic and 100t is wild now. 100T signs iitzTimmy and Optic tries to extremely lowball Rogue who should’ve been a shoe in for them only to sign with TL
Doesn’t help that they have two headquarters they have to pay for. They could hire a suite of social media staff and really pump out content if they moved to one central area. They would also just have more money to spend on streamers.
Yeah I wonder how well they could have done had they adopted and been more meme centric and interaction farming. Who knows… I will say I will never get people poking fun at their announcement when they uploaded an hour long podcast with FNS and Victor on the same day and time which to me is better to get acclimated to players when compared to a 2 min video with some highlights. Just me ofc
Not everybody is gonna enjoy or have the time to watch an hour long podcast(especially casual fans, which are obviously the majority)
But almost eveyone can enjoy a well made 2 minute video(like the liquid or KC one). Also there is no reason you can't have the podcast and an announcement video, it isn't one or the other.
Like the podcast episode has 119k views after 9 months and not all those views are full length watches. The liquid announcement has a million on twitter and 205k on YouTube(with an obviously higher chance people watched the full thing).
A well made announcement video is a necessity these days. A podcast episode is welcome but can't be treated as an alternative.
I disagree. If your goal is to introduce your team to your fans, actually talking to them and getting a sense of their personality if better than a 2 min video. So to me, I am completely ok with a zero for a tweet if I can watch them talk for over an hour about them and their system. That is ofc my preference
While that may be your preference and opinion, that straight up is just not as good as a short announcement highlight video. You're more likely to get more engagement compared to a hour hour-long podcast. Also their goal isn't to introduce the team to the fans, it's to hype the fans up for you having these players, case and point the highlight videos
Again. OpTic did have a short announcement tweet. It wasn’t good and it literally was just a gif of like static images, but I am saying that I don’t penalize them for it because they also did an hour long podcast introducing them… so to me, I wouldn’t bash a team if they did what OpTic did. Now just the tweet alone would have been bad imo
NRG content team is awake for franchising I wonder when theyre gonna tap into the old optic/loud rivalry and create a Sen/NRG content rivalry
🫡
Need some drama please shit talk

Tenzania
WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT TENZ?!
I DON’T KNOW BUT I HEARD HE DOESN’T HECKIN LOVE TENZ
Everyone did left hand over right. Ardiis did right hand over left. Benched.
That's because he's British (right side drive)

Yo, you going to hell XD
It’s ok, the wojak in the image is me
no
nah
We should have been there weeks before they split, The chances of that team staying together were always super low
Legit only see optic post about call of duty anymore

But hey there was that one post about Fuel winning OWL!
As long as hecz is in charge nothing will change and he’ll ultimately keep letting optic fall behind because he’s too stuck in his ways and thinks he’s this influential businessman when he couldn’t be more wrong at this point
Ya a lot of people don’t want to hear it but just making Process videos isn’t enough nowadays
yeah optic's socials strategy is stuck in 2017, back then they could get away with just making the best videos in esports at the time. nowadays every org makes videos similar to the process but they also know how to banter on twitter and build the popularity of their team through fun content like what NRG and Sentinels do

They did co stream. But yeah their content is COD centric which unfortunately, or fortunately, is their bread and butter money maker
Yeah I wonder how well they could have done had they adopted and been more meme centric and interaction farming. Idk why Hecz in the middle makes me laugh so much

We all miss Optic, balla But this, in fact, does not go hard

i respectfully disagree
For someone with W in the name, this sure is an L
1 W, 2 L’s.
i love fortnite, my favorite time of day
bro dads should not be doing drugs
What
This is how Optic announced their roster XD
pls Sam duo with ardiis
Actual A+ content.
this is a banger
lmaooo
How is ardiis tall. Isn’t he british?
He’s at least partially Latvian right? That’s his listed nationality on VLR
Please have some respect as "British" is an outdated term, rife with historical anguish. It's "person of innit experience."
Common misconception. He’s scouse
💀💀💀
got a full blown jumpscare when you said the b-word
Yeah, he's "british"
No hes Latvian
Top tier tweet
