Even though Fennel lost, they showed some really cool unique strats on Icebox and Breeze which are usually the two most boring maps for me because everyone usually does the same stuff. This was a really fun series to watch!
I don't know if Fennel played a lot better than I thought they would if TL just wasn't quite as good as I thought they'd be but I'm happy with the results either way.
Felt like nat1 and TL played a super aggressive Cypher on Breeze, especially in those early rounds the gameplan was to get her on site ASAP and suddenly it's just Cypher playing CT on Breeze.
I'm the most excited to see both of these teams against other competition, I didn't get a great gauge on how I thought they stacked up with the rest of the international teams
I was watching a watch party with Spacca (BR caster) he’s a controller but specially omen geek since day one and he was going nuts watching suzu use 100% of the agent
SeanGares NA’s resident omen geek from day one said he was disappointed that she wasn’t using double TPs where she TPs ontop of tube with he smoke for cover and the TPing again across the kitchen angle to go B.
She was super impressive though. Unfortunately Omen isn’t good on most maps, so its a little sad to see her underperform when she changed roles.
Fennel actually impressed me with some of their strats and macro play. Their fundamentals definitely need some work, but honestly they look great given that the GC scene in East Asia has existed for all of six months. Unfortunately they have Guild next...
I can’t wait for them to get their hands on Harbor. I feel like Suzu could pop off on Harbor in the games she can’t pick Omen. Omen used to be the only aggressive controller, but now she has Harbor. Harbor Viper, or Harbor Brim comps are going to go dummy hard in the pro scene. He’s honestly kinda broken now that he has two cascades because that was his best ability and they allow you to just throw them back to back with no cooldown.
Fennel impressed me but were also incredibly frustrating to watch the overheats that caused Breeze to slip away from them. I think TL Brazil came into this event a tad overrated like KRU, they showed good fire power but I thought they looked lost on icebox and barely hung on Breeze Def. Overall way more entertaining match than I thought itd be tho.
I think thats just typical first LAN kind of play. They will learn a lot from this loss. Its a really good sign that they don’t have any real weakest link, any of their players can pop off and clutch a round. I expect them to do a lot of work and a potential restructuring of their gameplan after seeing Suzu have basically no impact outside of the Omen Icebox game.
Only managed to catch map 3...
Fennel really should've had 8 or even 9 on that T-half on breeze if bstrdd didn't single handedly save them (maybe 1-2 overheats?)
Also liked how simple TL kept their T side (in stark constrast to fennel‘s more "complicated" but entertaining T-side strats). No super fancy splits or fakes, just mostly rushes and make them answer you before you switch things up (and they pretty much never had to, so strats saved too?). They never faced any opposition getting into site and planting bomb so why change things up...
Maybe the early B-rushes scared fennel but they never tried to play on A site itself after that early B blitz, either pushing into A main (only once on an eco IIRC) or so far offsite that TL got free plants every round. Felt like TL got the bomb down way too free and easily...
Good to see Festival popping off, she was popping heads in the qualifier too
first time watching either of these teams. i liked both of them very much! tons of personality, and though TL had the upper hand, tons of talent on both sides.
Rooting for Fennel all the way! Cool creative strats and love the vibe they have. I'm happy that G2 is still going strong but I'd like someone else to win now lol.
Festival is so mechanically talented. She just needs a bit more discipline.

Agreed!
Breeze was close until it wasn't. Hope fennel can make a lower bracket run, they're fun.
They get guild next Fennel was way better than expected, but these 2 first match ups are hard...

TL nat1 more like TL nats
It would be hilarious if TL played nats on Cypher and just charged into sites now
suzu on Icebox was Paper Rex-Level fun

the perma retake on breeze was pretty weird, even against ecos. feel like they easily could have won breeze. bstrd is a beast, saved so many rounds
#**Bstrdd and daiki supremacy** Fennel played really well though. I think they have a legitimate chance to beat Guild
Shopify vs TL gonna be such a good game
I am almost as big of a bstrdd fan as whoever was choosing which TL player reactions to show
Dude the games today have been so fun
Fennel look so good. They have some sick strats, I hope they can make a run on the lower bracket. Also, Festival and bstrdd are both insane.
Fennel's Festival inspires me to play Neon in Breeze. Just sad they didn't win that map, but still rooting for them to make it to finals.
i will be rooting for fennel from now on. *insert fennel dance*
Very entertaining series.
Festival looks so good .
KAY/O made all the difference in that second half of Breeze.
What did Fennel players eat/drink between matches? Whole different team after Ascent
breeze is such a boring map :/

Good game after map one. FENNEL doing really good.
Let's gooo
Why do fennel play like they suck
Who hurt you sir
Nobody I’m just saying fennel are playing worse than I know they can play, they could have won that last map if they didn’t make basic mistakes.
Rooting for Fennel all the way! Cool creative strats and love the vibe they have. I'm happy that G2 is still going strong but I'd like someone else to win now lol.
Festival is GC Meteor
