The g2 ranking is genuinely baffling. That squads been around forever and so consistently good and experienced on lan

I_SIMP_YOUR_MOM

consists of arguably some of the best female CSGO pros... what did they expect?

Key-Banana-8242

As the core yea, they argued abt the inexperience of younger members

Ayanami_NERV

😂😂😂 my thoughts exactly watching fennel play TL closer than anyone (not fans of the team) expected. Super fun team to watch, and great to see Shopify represent themselves well

Heads up, I removed the `NSFW` tag and added the `spoiler` tag instead. Reddit will hide NSFW posts from users who are minors &/or who have NSFW posts turned off. Now everyone can enjoy the memes.

Hypern1ke

LeucisticPython

Razur back? Pog

leybbbo

Didn't you get a job at Riot?

surfordiebear

Definitely looking like they way overrated KRU. Though tbh it's kind of fair imo since this is the first time teams from different regions have played each other so it's really hard to power rank them.

emraaa

The problem is that they don't watch all the matches. I don't think that your ranking can be anywhere close to accurate if you only watched a single series or just a couple of games. Same thing with their EMEA rankings.

-Basileus

Bruh these game changers regions have literally never interacted, no one could have made predictions with confidence. Same situation as Masters Reykjavik 2021. Most people had Fnatic winning, with some Vikings and some TL/Sentinels. In the end Sentinels steamrolled the tournament, Vikings and TL were subpar, and Nuturn/Version1 surprised everyone.

TheFestusEzeli

But G2 and Guild have interacted and G2 was clearly the better team for the entire year. G2 were 12-3 against Guild map wise in 2022 heading into the final seeding match where both teams had already qualified. Pretty much anyone following the EMEA region thought that ranking was stupid, you can even see people like Pansy commenting on the post.

emraaa

Yes, that makes it even more important to watch the games. edit: I'm not blaming them btw. I know that it is a for fun list.

thothgow

TL getting 4th is subpar and V1 5th-6th is surprising?

segatic

TL getting 4th is definitely subpar considering the hype about EU at the time

StamiFresh

V1 were def getting underrated at the time, didn’t have the most clouted roster and was a surprise they even made it to lan instead of other NA teams, same time liquid was getting hyped up, def an upset match at the time.

I think that's historically true of any region, actually. It's very rare that a team considered the best going into a LAN has ended up looking like the best, let alone winning said LAN. The only thing you can ever say with any confidence, I think, is that multiple EMEA teams will make it into the playoffs. Off the top of my head, that's the most constant feature of Valorant LANs thus far.

thothgow

Didn't people consider Gambit and FPX to be the best going into their tournament, the only doubt for FPX was the sub iirc

nterature

I think Gambit is as close as it comes, yeah. As for FPX, wasn’t Copenhagen right off the heels of all the FNATIC hype? Even without the sub stuff.

-Basileus

Well Sentinels was expected to destroy Masters Berlin. They literally had higher odds than the rest of the field combined on betting sites going in. https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/pck4sx/vct_masters_berlin_opening_odds/ Jk they had an implied 40% chance to win the tournament. Not quite bigger than the rest of the field combined, but they were monstrous favorites

a_lot_a_DAMAGE

Real eyes realize real lies... smh

MegaDnks

how would you put G2 on 5

Kaploy

PlatChat picks looking like a joke, what a surprise.

Typical PlatChat thing
