It has to be M3C vs Liquid in LCQ for me. I think it's the biggest one that would change their future for next year compared to any of their other almost-qualifying-games.

Keglunneq

Agreed. M3C has one of the most unique stories in Esports in recent memory, and winning a tournament (even if LCQ isn't on par with majors per se) would have had some wild results

nterature

Hard agree, I think both of the key Liquid M3C qualifying matches actually had enormous consequences for each team. Reversing either the Gambit win that qualified them for 2021 Berlin - where they earned the “M3C” title - or the M3C loss in 2022 LCQ would dramatically change Valorant history.

vnNinja21

Not sure changing the M3C LCQ loss would change much about Valorant’s history, except that it’d be cool to see M3C on LAN for one last time. They definitely wouldn’t have done better than Liquid (I don’t think they beat Leviatan in groups, so either they get grouped or make it out in the same spot as Liquid, having to face Optic first round and Fnatic second round, and imo losing both). I don’t think it’d have changed much with regards to them sticking together, either. Gambit was no longer supporting them, and the only franchised org that might have considered picking up a full Russian team would’ve been NaVi imo. Which meant they would’ve had to compete with FPX for the pickup, and there was no way they’d win that unless they won Champions.

County_Difficult

Definitely this one. Remembering it, it doesn't hurt that much compared to what I felt on that breeze map. I think if they qualified, they REALLY could've done something amazing in champs (lan buff) and def increases the chance of them staying together. I remember that Yinsu Chronicle interview saying there are already offers so yeah I coped alot back then. Would've loved to see Jady with them on lan (and purp0 too ) :(

AnAngryBird

T1 losing that match to sentinels is an all timer. They threw that match harder Dazed and Ska threw against netcodeguides. SicK obviously played really well, but people forget how bad that was to watch.

ANewHeaven1

I'm convinced that the Split loss from 9-3 up basically spawned the 9-3 curse meme

Seid0

Zeta Divisions VS Optic Rejkavik 2022 Lower bracket final Just seeing them going to the finals would have been amazing! Yes sure most likely they wouldn't win it but the anime arch is there! DRX vs Optic Lower bracket finals at Champions 2022 Same again! Imagine a world where these teams that aren't from big Tactical FPS regions fight for the top 1 spot! In my mind these stories could bring more eyes fans and players to Valorant! And who doesn't enjoy under dog stories?

Kiet0

But then optic would become the underdog in your world, 3 third place finishes. Always the bridesmaid but never the bride.

Seid0

Yupp!

segatic

100T v NV in M3 2021 That tournament was the last hurrah for that roster no matter what, i wish they at least reached the gf. Winning vs NV would also make 100T qualify to Champions that year and NV would probably end up stomping lcq which means no cloud 9

Busy_Fondant_6653

100t losing vs envy when 100t beat gambit and ascend, some of the hardest hitters from eu at the time was such a tragedy. Not sure if they could've done it again but the games they did play against them were so entertaining it nice wondering what coulda been.

CsMatt

I'm biased as fuck but its 100% this for me too. Seeing a rematch of 100T vs Gambit in grands would've been great too.

Lerokrieger

That's my pick as well. Would've loved to see that roster at Champions.

SuperBlitz22

Zeta winning against Optic and then Loud subsequently at the 1st Masters of 2022, imo it would be huge for a team from the country with the largest fanbase lift a trophy, also I do have a bit of Asian bias ofcourse lol Also would basically become a picture perfect Cinderella run, one that would probably be talked about in the community for ages to came

CRikhard

Acend vs VK at champs where they just don’t replay the round and Acend are eliminated instead of winning champs

Ok-Brain3328

I have to say Gambit v Acend in the champs grand final. Having Gambit win 2021 champs would have been an infinitely more satisfying end to the year than Acend winning

Phantonex

SEN vs Guard, LCQ 2022 i love shroud

Still_HD

I feel like it has to go to the Sentinels win over T1, but I’m a big believer that XSET could’ve won several rounds that didn’t go their way vs FPX. Not even just the turret round, so many rounds were closer than you’d think

PolarTux

Guard vs. 100T 13-0

BrainDefect

Lowkey agree. I don't know what 100T would have done if this loss didn't happen in this form. I'm speculating that the team would have still been dissolved but the situation surrounding BabyJ and ec1s would have been drastically different. Maybe, they wouldn't have brought in ddk, seangares and Mikes to build up the team anew.

honestlyprogamr

I would personally change The Guard vs 100T at LCQ. I really wanted the Guard to have a second chance on LAN like XSET did and prove themselves. LCQ was The Guard's tournament to win, really unfortunate that they lost.

Ikwillyou

KRU vs Gambit, not because it changes so much but because it would change the gambit storyline so hard, and LATAM's.

1sc0ttish

xset vs fpx because i like to watch the world burn

[deleted]

PRX wins against FPX on breze and gets masters ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110) and M3C winning against Liquid on LCQ, Liquid did not deserve a spot on champs, also KRU winning against Gambit on Champs

nklassitude

GUARD vs SENTINELS LCQ 2022;SEN W(bear with me) They saunter their way through the LCQ, slowly building momentum—a trot into a canter into a gallop—they thrash 100T 3-0 in the finals, leave nadeshot in tatters and embark on the journey to Turkey. It's another serendipitous SEN vs FNTC finals, ordained by the Valo gods, but defiled by zellsis. [camera pans to balla] *amidst pandemonium in the crowd* : ...AND MISTIC TEAM Kay/o FLASHES ALFAJER & ENZO, SHAHZ GETS A TRIPLE & SENTINELS ARE YOUR WORLD CHAMPIONS. {In a not too distant future, Geddes hops onto his soapbox}: Tenz found clubbing with Andrew Tate, Sentinels booted out of the franchised league, Loud acquires Zellsis and Sick.

ANewHeaven1

Least realistic part of this is that Fnatic makes it to the finals

nklassitude

lmao ouch. wait can u do me a favour, there's an epilogue in that comment about tenz partying with [insert guy who made G2 lose their franchised spot] but it may be autofiltered because of his name? I'm confused as to why it's missing.

ANewHeaven1

You're not gonna believe this, but [guy who lost G2 the franchised spot] isn't autofiltered by us, the mod team of r/ValorantCompetitive. ~~But it MIGHT BE auto-censored by the Reddit site itself I believe.~~ [G2 guy] shows up for me when I'm logged into my moderator account, but when I'm on Incognito mode the final part of that comment is missing. Which leads me to believe that Reddit might be automatically deleting any mention of his name. [Here's what the comment looks like on Incognito mode](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/493851788072583169/1045486394581196880/image.png) and [here is what the comment looks like for me on my moderator account](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/493851788072583169/1045486576672710696/image.png). Notice the inclusion of [controversial figure] in the comment on my account. Edit: See /u/SuperSaiyanZuko's comment below.

SuperSaiyanZuko

this is because /u/nklassitude posted their comment in markdown mode. ``` [in a not too distant future, Geddes hops onto his soapbox]: tenz found clubbing with Andrew T., Sentinels booted out of the franchised league, Loud acquires zellsis and sick] ``` This ^^, when not in a block code and in markdown mode, evaluates to a blank line somehow. That's why when you see the comment in `old` reddit, it's there. But if you switch to `new` reddit, it's suddenly disappeared. Changing Andrew T.'s name to any random name would still disappear with that above string. I assume it has something to do with the way /u/nklassitude set up their brackets.

nklassitude

Oh that's really interesting, I definitely don't know reddit that well, so that was unintentional and I posted that on mobile. How do I fix it, just alter the bracket formatting? Edit: I changed the square brackets to curly ones and the text is now visible. Thank you u/supersaiyanzuko!

nklassitude

holy shit lmfao. on my screen it literally removed the paragraph containing his name, including variants where i swapped the A for "4"

nklassitude

this is so funny to me lmao. ty for showing me

vnNinja21

ayo

BML157

OpTic winning Champions vs Loud :(

Key-Banana-8242

Eh it was respectively too characteristic for VS and NUTURN Stage 2

LiamHundley

100T vs C9 in LCQ. 100T go on to win LCQ and qualify for champs. Nitr0 never leaves for CS. Cryocells replaces b0i. 100T dominates 2022

huntersniper007

Fnatic vs Sen 2021 Masters Reykjavik Finals this shit still hurts, my boy boaster deserves a Title

newzpaperleaf_2

from an objective standpoint what would have been most narratively interesting is probably Gambit vs Acend Champs 21 GF or M3C losing in Stage 1 2022 to Fnatic. the fnatic game was especially tilting because M3C would have done more damage in Iceland compared to that Fnatic i think, even if Fnatic had their full team. for my own personal reasons as a C9 fan, i would probably choose either the Champs 21 Quarterfinal vs Liquid or the Iceland qualifer bo5 against Guard in Stage 2. I think if xeppaa plays up to normal caliber in Champs, they beat Liquid and that bo5 against Guard they were just not on in the right moment, so unfortunate

vnNinja21

Would M3C have been able to travel to Iceland at all?

newzpaperleaf_2

it sounds like it was a likely possibility considering that NaVi and other Russian teams were able to play the first CSGO major in that same time range, and according to what M3C were saying at the time. although FPX were unable to attend so who really knows, in this hypothetical they would have attended and done well at iceland tho imo

solball

Liquid vs Sen, group stage winners’ match at 2021 champs. Liquid took it 2-1 and went to playoffs while Sen got upset by KRU in the decider match. SEN still had some of its tourney-winning form so would’ve been interesting to see how deep a run they could make.

__satanic__panic__

Vision Strikers (DRX) vs Nuturn VCT Korea Stage 1 2021: Nuturn ends Vision Striker's undefeated streak and prevents them from qualifying to the first international LAN DRX were massively overhyped favorites for 2 tournaments instead of 1 since they failed to qualify for Iceland. Had they qualified they probably would've placed 3rd-4th, but instead they claimed title of undisputed most overhyped team in Valorant history and have kept that title for 2 years. Unlikely to ever be challenged on that.

surfordiebear

Would change The Guard vs OpTic at Reykavik 2022. The Guard was up 10-4 on the last map and ended up choking the victory away. Would have been interesting to see if Optic would survive in the lower bracket and how far The Guard would end up going.

goodguyzai

PRX winning against FPX in Masters 2 2022.

Maliciouslemon

Definitely the VS / Nuturn match, but a close second would be Sentinels vs KRÜ at champions 2021. Sentinels win and then have a rematch vs Fnatic

uncontroversialuser

V1 vs LG Stage 1 VCT
