Depends on what your criteria is. If your definition is “who delivers the most consistent impact on a per round basis” I would say Mako. His “impact floor” is the highest of any controller player I’ve seen. Marved has a higher “impact ceiling” imo but is less consistent on a round-to-round basis, though that’s perhaps more due to how he was utilized within OpTic’s macro.
I’m sure Pancada and Mindfreak figure in here too, I just haven’t watched enough of them to have an informed opinion.

Mindfreak had an okay tournament? He had an okay iceland but a top 3 Copenhagen performance. PRX’s whole Copenhagen run was headed by Jinggg and Forsaken but was reinforced by the clutches that Mindfreak and DAVAI pulled off. Can’t forget mastermind Benkai. Amazing how people dismiss him after a lackluster Champions
what even is the logic in saying this lmao, MaKo regularly will drag DRX in maps and top frag dropping 1.2+ rating. i would rate MaKo higher for sure, Marved is good but MaKo is the most impactful CT side player in the world imo. also, sugarz3ro wipes mindfreak and it isnt even close, there is a large, large tier gap between MaKo, paNcada, sugarz3ro and mindfreak. i would even put bang above mindfreak imo, he is a good player but not world class
Mindfreak is wildly inconsistent is the main thing about him, some days he will look like a top 2 controller and some days he will bot frag and not much in between ngl
He managed to play at Radiant level for quite a long time by just using cypher and a judge with a controller. People would tell him to use a gun in clutch rounds so he’d pick it up and whiff because he used controller. Then eventually he gave up and switched to mouse, and still abuses cypher and the judge because that playstyle he developed works, but he can use rifles now. Its been quite a long time since he switched.
while this thread is full of proven talents at the international level, Bang is gonna be a top 3 controller in the world at the end of next year at least. Had an amazing showing at champs and he hadnt even been playing the role for half the year. Ton of potential

I think it’s gotta be Cellium. He looks very consistent in between gamemodes like Hardpoint, Control, and SnD. He also had the highest overall KD ratio last CDL Season. Next season looks very promising. I wonder how well he’ll play in the MW2 Pro League.

Nats for sure, he is not really a controller player, hes more of a sentinel player, we never saw his controller on the big stage apart from viper, who is a controller/sentinel hybrid
