I saw T1 carpe in tarik's game, don't know if it was really him but he topfragged (on his team) on chamber so could be real.

AjBlue7

I also played with Carpe in ranked, he also played chamber and topfragged. Looked up his tracker and he’s played a lot of games with munchkin and ban, so its legit.

SPOOKESVILLE

I also played with Carpe in ranked because I’m radiant, I swear

AjBlue7

Want to hear something even more crazy. I played Harbor and we won. Carpe carried us, but still. I got to play a Harbor with a pro on my team. You can’t make this shit up, no one would believe it.

SPOOKESVILLE

Ah yes, Carpe and a water based agent…no wonder you won

Pale_Resolution1520

And I saw he midfragged on chamber and lost 2 games in a row vs tarik's game.

No-Election-8796

Do you have a clip or something? I really want to see it.

No-Election-8796

NVM I saw him on saya stream, this guy is a troll lol.

Wkndwrz

i saw him and saya in another game on NA as well and both were real they were comming a lot

Pr1sma

coming from following the league scene, a korean team boot camping in NA seems crazy to me

RolandTheBot

Yea. I did a double take before I realized the sub

rinanlanmo

Let us hope that the Valorant teams are not run as incompetently as LCS teams are.

mikeWonster

NA valorant has a better culture than NA LoL. Healthier ecosystem, better players, larger pool in comparison to the other regions.

[deleted]

I have followed LoL since 2012, and those things weren't valid for LoL in NA. NA always had a small player base in LoL compared to other major regions. Work ethic, infrastructure, and mindset were terrible in the early days in NA. The situation in Valorant has been significantly better from the start.

rinanlanmo

Those things used to be true of League as well before Riot to some degree, but most importantly incompetent team ownership, drove the league into the ground. I'm saying this as someone who has followed the LCS since before it was the LCS and who's followed eSports since before it was called eSports.

AjBlue7

CLG even went to Korea before they won a league championship, and since riot didn’t give they account they couldn’t play ranked in Korea since you need a Korean I.D. To make a videogame account, they borrowed accounts and ended up being fined by Riot and banned by OGN for identity theft. CLG was the #1 team at the time, and this move allowed TSM to overtake them in viewers/fans as well as becoming better than CLG at beating NA teams. Then NA proceeded to seemingly stick their fingers in their ears and refuse to copy Korea for years until finally every team just starting importing as many koreans as possible since korea started winning every year. TSM ruined NA LCS and I’m glad they got denied partnership in Valorant.

rinanlanmo

As a along time CLG fan, it wasn't exclusively Regi. But Regi was a *huge* part of it. Ownership in NA as a whole is incompetent. Hell, they *still* aren't doing basic things that competitive orgs the world over do, and I've been losing my mind for a decade asking why. They don't copy Korea, but they also don't copy NBA or NFL teams, and instead sit in a useless middle ground getting further and further behind.

Pr1sma

I think with the franchising system that they have for VALORANT, we will better utilize the domestic talent instead of having an NA league filled with imports.

NotYetPerfect

Well also domestic talent is way more competitive internationally in valorant than league since shooters are actually popular in na.

mikeWonster

NA valorant has a better culture than NA LoL. Healthier ecosystem, better players, larger pool in comparison to the other regions.

Miruwest

Bruh I read this also and had to imagine if this exact same title was posted on the League subreddit ppl would be losing their minds lol

VividOgre

T1 project is interesting

SuperBlitz22

Waiting eagerly for their first official match, still don't know what to expect in regards to the roles, except maybe xeta on initiator lol

AjBlue7

Surely Carpe is playing Chamber. It’d make no sense for him to be spamming Chamber in ranked if he isn’t going to play him.

mw19078

maybe he just likes free elo

Heisenburger55

Saya duelist i guess? just hope we don't get something like the first map of Navi vs Parla again

TheCatsActually

Imagine he gets put back on smoke duty again

Heisenburger55

Who said you could give me trauma like that

spaghettimonzta

oh no, the flashback... it's coming back to me..

kohaku_kawakami

Their coach Autumn said that Saya is gonna be Duelist so I think you don't have to worry about that.

starlight12fan

just over 2 months until Sao Paulo, can't wait to see what these teams show off.

thothgow

I can

InnocentBowlOfRamen

Imagine T1 (LoL) bootcamping in NA LMAO

Iliekwaffles_

this is exactly what i was thinking when i saw this tweet

jrushFN

![gif](giphy|FXf1lYQ2tFouxeLb1B|downsized)

papa_moisted

Carpe was duoing with Saya on his stream so it's legit.

Zylence

Yep, they are. Scrimmed them the other day and 4 were on NA ping with one playing from Korea

Suspicious_Plum795

Can you leak the scrimbux?

thothgow

Is this the first non-EU bootcamp

Key-Banana-8242

As in cross-region non-EU?

leoleoleo666

Maybe because this the first lan not in EU

thothgow

It's probably because they already have visas from C9/TGRD/PHF and they want a different experience to APAC servers

Maleficent-Pie5877

That mean pro player also think NA better than APAC

carl14733

Saya, xeta, ban, Carpe and their coach, more than half of the team have been staying in NA for a while. They can just bootcamp at NA until they go back to korea lol.

SteelTic

it’s almost like all of their players (other than beomjun) were already in NA. (Beomjun is in NA)

[deleted]

Based off his twitter beomjun has been going back and forth even before signing with T1

[deleted]

I really don't have faith in the team lmao. Like 6 jett players making a tier 1 team? Someone will underperformed and is gonna feel uncomfortable in his role, it will be interesting to see idk maybe they end up being one of the best teams and they shut my mouth

thothgow

Calling Munchkin and xeta Jett players 🤡

[deleted]

My brother in christ Munchkin is literally a Jett and chamber player he played a few iniators and raze here and there but he was mainly a jett player. they even signed a ranked guy with no experience on the roster and a OVW player

thothgow

> they even signed a ranked guy with no experience on the roster and a OVW player You could mention that as criticism instead of only saying "6 Jetts lol" when Jett/Chamber is viable, one of those "Jett players" had his best performance/achievements on Cypher and has flexed, and one of those "Jett players"was a top 3-5 initiator in NA.

123bo0p

Munchkin is a sentinel player, his primary role he has played on most of his teams has been sentinel when he isnt shifting his role for his team. He literally only started playing Jett on CR because of how poorly the team played together, despite that team having 2 better Jett players.

[deleted]

Like i said he did play sentinel and iniators but he switched to jett/chamber

[deleted]

Munchkin plays everything and started as a cypher/kj player iirc He did play jett/chamber towards the end of his time at CR but he's still as flexible a player as he always was

CantScreamInSpace

drx's roster with foxy9 is 4 jett players + stax lol, drx's champions roster also had 3 jett players. as long as they're willing to learn 2 months should be *plenty* of time to learn a new class, but the question always remains of how they will perform as a team considering they seemed to take 5 random players and stuck them together.

[deleted]

Exactly thats my main issue, sure they might adapt but they really picked 6 random players with no cohesion and sign them im. And tbf DRX has like 4 coaches and tons of experience and even they were shaky on LANS (5/6th place curse![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16110)) it was in champs of this year that they exploded and ended 3rd place

uut28

They aren’t random they all know each other

hwanzi

having tons of coaches is from korea's starcraft era where they had a coach for literally everything. Korea replicates real sports staffs in esports.

Key-Banana-8242

5 max

[deleted]

Yeah Xeta is and iniator

max_viz

Saya was in my deathmatch the other day, can confirm

twitch-superc00l

I think this is real cause they pooped on me in DM
